Lyrics:
OH SCHNO
I can’t watch things based on true events
‘Cause I’ll be trapped on wikipedia (oooh)
Eight hours readin about Fred Hampton
I’ve been trapped on wikipedia (oooh)
Don’t set me freeeee,
I need to know all about The Great Stink
Ohhh, why would i ever go to sleep
When I can become a scholar of the Manx Loaghtan sheep?
I can’t watch things that are fictional,
‘Cause I’ll get trapped on wookiepedia (oohhh)
6 hours learnin about Coleman Trebor,
Yeah, I’ve been trapped on wookieepedia (ohhh)
I don’t care if you disapprove
I’ll be an expert on Yarael Poof
Ohhh, What would I stop to eat dinner for
When I’m studying the Purge of Mandalore??
You might think that
readin all these facts
Have made me the smartest man on the planet
But in a couple days, I’ll forget anyway
And be back on wikipedia, damn it
I can’t walk around and look at things at all
‘Cause I’ll be trapped on wikipedia (ooohh)
10 hours later and I’m on Charles de Gaulle
I’ve been trapped on wikipedia (oooh)
Just let me beeeeee,
I’m sightseeing in Tuscany
Ohhh, I’ll never (go to) sleep
‘Til I can tell a dugong from a manatee
I cannot function in the world today
Because I’m trapped on wikipedia - Приколы

If I remember correctly, London got really stinky for a few days in the 1800s because they were dumping all their sewage in the Thames and there was a hot day that brought it all into the air. Lead them to develop more advanced sewage systems.
abridged version: it turns out that when you pour sewage into a river, bad things happen 💀

I relate so hard. Somehow, last week I went on a journey from Pangaea to TVTropes to non-Euclidean geometry and I don't know how long I was lost...
It was the history of Japan, then the philosophy of Japan, then the economy of Japan, and whatnot for me. I was trapped for hours
let me guess, bill wurtz is to blame?
Bet you absolutely aced every test you got about Japan.
Fun fact: the migration of the yayoi people has been pushed back to 1000-800 BCE.
I got trapped today on tangent that started on root beer and ended on the classification of colloids and a dedicated knowledge of foaming agents
Apparently the root bark of the sassafras plant, once used to make root beer, is no longer allowed for food production in the US as it contains the known carcinogen safrole
Great, now i’m going to have to spend the rest of my day reading all the articles featured in this video.
"I cannot function in the world today because I'm trapped on Wikipedia" is a long-winded way of saying "I have ADHD"
😅😅
Shut up
For real. Partway through this video i saw a screenshot of a page titled 'anti urinal devices in Norwich' which was too intriguing to pass up so i opened my 73rd tab to find out what the hell that meant. I'm definitely not ADHD. /s
@felixhenson9926 73 tabs? You mean there is an option other than ":D" on chrome? Or if you're not on mobile opening so many they start to go off screen.
2am on a Wednesday, I jolt awake.. and can't stop thinking about a historical figure I learned about in the third grade. I try to ignore my thoughts, but I can't resist the urge to get on Wikipedia. Why am I like this? I ask myself often. I may never know.

can confirm that yarael poof is actually just a verticle turtle
not sure about that bc he has 6 appendages and 2 brains
this is so relatable. I know the basic plotline of half the JoJo parts, and I'm not even a fan. And now I'm currently trapped reading about ancient indian texts, when I'm not even that religious. It also brought to my attention a Journey to the West fanfiction from 1640. I got the book from the library, and it's trippy as heck. Monkey is revealed to have a crush on one of his former enemies, the Princess Iron Fan (this concept was present in prototypes in Journey to the West, but not so...innocent), and he basically is angry at himself for it. He also gets trapped in a dream by a fish (minnow or sardine) demon.
Edit: some advice. When learning about things on the culture and religion of India, be careful, as many pages are the exact pages your teachers warned you about. Inaccurate.
As a fellow Wikipedia editor, I too have spent hours focusing on facts relating to trains, and sometimes going "off track" for related subjects (towns, definitions, bands, etc.)
I already took days manually creating a list of the +300 orbital spaceflights since Yuri Gagarin with Spacefacts as a source.
Oh hello Fellow Railfan!
Thank you for teaching me about Yarael Poof, and what I was missing all these years 🙏

Even though I’m trapped on Wikipedia, I’m learning more stuff then school has ever taught me
Not saying school education is the most useful but it could be more useful
@@_________-__________-_______ true
Learning random history facts is not good, they don't need to teach you more, they need to teach you less, but more important things. If they try to cram in thousands of facts into children's brains they are just going to forget it, but if they don't teach you all that much then it wouldn't be as hard to remember. History and social studies is entirely useless, I can't remember a single thing I learned from any of those classes, so it's just a massive waste of time.
The problem with schools is not what they are teaching us, although they could teach us the basics of the law and economy in mandatory classes, the problem is they are just too stupid and don't care enough, the teachers don't care about what's wrong or right, they just want their paycheck and to abuse their power over children. They don't know shit, I'm like 2 times smarter than my English teacher, who has the spelling of a 9th grader.

Just arrived at this channel thanks to a discord meme and oh boy I do not regret it.
Seriously tho I believe this song deserves a lot more attention than it was given, awesome job!
I do a combination of google maps wormholes plus wikipedia. For example, what is the northern most city or settlement?
- start on google maps up around the north pole.
- scroll along the top land mass of each continent.
- find a city.
- click through to its wiki page.
- rinse and repeat and repeat and repeat.
This works for remote little islands out in the middle of nowhere, too.
your wikiwars series on the second channel 7+ years ago was the reason it became a fad in my school. I feel this song in my soul.

I recently found out that "loophole" originally meant "defensive arrowslit in a fortification." Until it later meant a "concealed escape route from the fortification." Until it meant "technically legal way to cheat." Such wiki. So philosophy.
I can so much relate to this
I think my most notable wikipedia dive was going through the Halo wiki. I was on there through the night and learned a shitload about the universe that you wouldn't learn in the games and I even managed to remember a great deal of it.
Not really an interesting dive for retelling, but it's notable to me for being the first time I just got stuck going down a rabbit hole of hyperlinks.
