I have strong healthy 4c hair never had a problem with breakage as a loose natural . About a year after my install I started experiencing loc breakage at my nape . I was hot as a firecracker because I always took great care of my hair . After the loosing three to four locs within a year I told my consultant to kick rocks and learned how to not only maintenance my hair but my mother's hair I combined alot of mines to save them and make them stronger it's my second year my locs are healthy and thicker . I'm so glad I took matters into my own hands .
So I’m definitely combining a lot of my locks after this haha. You did a very nice and neat job. I diyed my locks and the sizing is inconsistent. A lot in the front are pretty large, disobeying the smaller in the front, larger in the back rule, but given that I’m loving the larger look now, I’m just going to make the other locks around the same size or slightly bigger. Knock my count down from almost 300 to the low 200s or preferably 100s hopefully. Some of these thin locks, while healthy, are getting on my nerves. The thick locks spark joy though 😆 I’m ready to cut down on my retightening time for my slow going self who likes to wait 3-5 months between retightenings.
I wish more consultants and locticians talked about the sustainability of microlocks depending on size and thickness and provided more options. It seems like the 150-250 lock range is a chasm that actually might best suit those looking to get microlocks or “larger” interlocks.
I started my channel for this very reason - the chasm you talked about. I spent an insane amount of time on YT researching Sisterlocks, watched too many takedowns and loc regret videos and decided 200-250 was the sweet spot. Got exactly that range and only then realised NOBODY on YT had that range. I did eventually find 2 (one of whom stopped posting YEARS ago). I was complaining about it when someone challenged me to be the change I wanted to see. The rest is history.
For me, 200-250 is small enough to behave/look tiny, but large enough that I wouldn't balk at a self-retie or have to sit for hours to have my hair retied.

Hey Missy!!! I am so glad you put out a hair video. I love that you got thicker Locs. You literally have the size i do now. You just wait you are going to love it. I have mine interlocked and i do it about every 10 weeks. I try to get to 3 months but i cannot make it. Please let us see baby J. We want to know all the delivery details can we have a story time on that? Anyway love your videos so please keep them coming!!

They look really good! I know you feel a weight difference compared to your previous size, especially with rubber bands on the ends. Gravity makes those little suckers almost feel like boulders. 🤣😂 Anyway, it was great to see an update from you.
I am looking to make mine thicker too because honestly I hate the time it takes to do my hair I just want to cut the time and I’m not liking how thin some are. However I loved this video and showing how you used the loc tool great video x

Yayyyy!!! I know your excited. I did the same Mo, back in April.. so next month it will be 3 yrs loc"d.. I just love it.. I love it for you and also it even looks fuller.. I retwist instead of interlock though with aloe vera and just pretty natural products..
@@MosWorld retwist is better for me because I don't have to deal with the rotations on how to do all of that. It is a pain. Also, you can go as long as you want vs. the other way because It still made me feel like I was still doing sisterlocks way. My hair is more free and not limited if you know what i mean.. I can go longer. You can see more of your growth then if it was interlocked and your hair is free to breathe then being pressed in all the rotation bit. because if you want to wash your hair and not want the retwist look you can.. just other stuff that i noticed being now traditional.. i'm just rambling on and on.. lol. you might understand what I'm saying. To many rules in the sisterlock field and none in the traditional field. Just take good care of it and let it do what it do.. you will see a difference for real. Your hair looks fuller and healthier.. I love it.. Mo.. sub to my channel as well. LOVIES HONEYCOMB. I'm not doing hair videos because I didn't know what to say. lol but leave your hair alone.. lol. Wow the process turned out great. Good job trusting your instincts. I am starting my locs next week and I've landed on the size that your now have, because I totally agree I don't have the time for small locs. I tcan't wait to see your recount video and see how many you have now. Could you just divide the original number by 2?
