I have cordovan shoes, wallet and horsehide jacket made from Japan. The texture and quality of it is exceptional and ubiquitous, I would like to thank them for their hard work and leather craftsmanship, though they all cost more than $5000 USD. But it is all worth it, you can use them for lifetime under the proper maintenance. LOL 😂
Neat to see how the staff not only know the core steps of what they need to do but clearly have knowledge of the theory and meaning behind every step and tool. That’s how you operate a successful business long term. Automation where it’s valuable and spreading the knowledge wide on how to get stuff done.
One thing that makes Japanese products so good is their work ethic. I like that they do stretches for 3 minutes to loosen up in order to be less likely to have a workplace accident. I've seen that even KFC employees stretch as a team for each shift.
Honestly it’s less that and more the ceremony that helps set your mind in a certain way. The stretching certainly is nice and helps somewhat. But it’s really more the ceremony. You do often see it elsewhere just it’s a bit more individual and done differently. The person that has a certain path they walk to work. The person who always starts with a hot drink done a specific way. Or the person who spends a couple minutes reading the news. All ways to get yourself in the mindset for work.
Nice. In the 70s and 89s, My uncle and I were processing and exporting E.I. tanned red hair sheep skins to Japan and European countries. In Japan, our principles were Fuji & Co., Tokyo. We had very good relations. Just recalling all the good days. And our good friends there. By the way, Forestal Mimosa is a company that supplied Wattle Extract. The tanning agent is wattle extract and not mimosa. Bayer company was a major dye and other chemical supplier then. But their dye was aniline based (carcinogenic). That dye was done away later.
Huh, had a cordovan saddle years ago, guess I was riding a horse...with parts of a horse. Most of those hides look to be draft horses, which would make sense as draft horses such as the Boulonnais are bred primarily for the meat trade. I don't know that shaving the leather is a special thing, its also done to cow and mule hides(there's a place a hour from me that makes mule hide gloves and they have a tannery) same process I do to deer hides only they get a fancy machine and I'm doing it by hand. But it is an important step.
All I can think about is how horrible the smell must be in the tannery. Pretty product in the end…don’t think I ever want anything made out of a horse myself, but that is just me.
Glad I wasn’t the only one to have a giggle at their looks. Even better given how straight-laced the business owner appears. He clearly understands the need to look past the surface when getting the best people into a team. They all clearly know their stuff well above the minimum needed for the job.
I salute this young man and his philosophy of respect for the life that existed to provide his business with a beautiful and useful product
Incredible work. The fish skins all came out super cool. Thanks so much for showing me around ❤️👍🙏

That green uniform is fire!!!

The first guy with the piercings is the double of The Last Emperor actor John Lone

Increíble. Es un proceso maravilloso. Gracias por el video.

Thats why so expensive
I've always wondered why japanese school bags were so expensive
I'd ask top dollar too, if it was made of prime cuts of horse's ass

🖐🖐🖐🖐
👍🏿
you need a new title, the one you published is broken english grammar.
You DH!
These factories smell soooo bad. Just thinking about it makes me want to vomit.
This is a factory with the most amount of non-conformist men outside of Shinjuku I've ever seen ~~~

Those Japanese leather makers are cute (。 or.. kawaii
