  • Dr. Rowe shows how to get quick TMJ pain relief at home, using NO EQUIPMENT.
Temporomandibular joint (commonly known as the TMJ) disorder is the result of excessive strain on the jaw joints and the muscles that control chewing, swallowing, and speech.
This can lead to extreme pain, headaches, difficultly chewing, and locking or clicking of the jaw.
We're going to focus on fixing TMJ pain by lengthening and strengthening the jaw muscles. To make it easy, well break this video up into two sperate parts.
In the first part, we'll go over specific muscle releases for instant relief (even within 30 seconds). The second part will focus on strengthening exercises for long-lasting relief. Make sure to go through both parts to get the best results.
Watch now and quickly fix TMJ pain at home!

I am not gonna lie to you: I've been suffering from this for decades and my doctors never caught it. I thought i was having chronic sinus infections/problems my entire military career. The doctors always told me it wasn't my sinuses but also couldn't figure out what my problem was. I went for a supposed sinus problem a month ago and a civilian doctor told me it's not my sinuses it was my jaw muscles spasming. He prescribed muscle relaxants and i was averse to taking them at first but it helped. I looked up what could be doing this to me and found this video and the first five minutes did more for me than a month of doctor's appointments. Thank you.

I have TMJ and I can’t begin to describe how much this helped me.
I sometimes get flare ups from an old blunt force injury; I can usually manage with the typical home care measures but this time around was a different story. I had been in so much pain to the point I couldn’t chew, had difficulty speaking - which was impacting my job performance- and when the joint would slip I felt nauseous from the electric pain. My jaw felt like it was close to locking at times because it would stick. I was seriously considering calling my pcp because I haven’t had an episode like this in a while.
Within 5 minutes I got so much relief, it went from a 8/10 pain to a 4/10. I’m still going to follow up with my pcp but the level of relief was so incredible. I can now open my jaw wider and can feel my muscles relax. I feel relaxed enough that I can finally sleep.
I know it’s long winded but I truly can’t thank you enough.

Those first couple massages are absolute gold. They feel incredible. I've been focusing a lot on massaging my neck near my jaw because I realized the connection between neck pain and jaw pain, but I never found a good way to massage the jaw muscles directly before. I've broken several teeth through excessive clenching....all chronic tension needs attention, but jaws are strong and when they get tense they can cause a significant amount of self-injury. This has to be my favorite video of his yet for how useful it is

Just found you on youtube (since we dropped Comcast) and have been watching all your videos!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!! I have suffered from horrible TMJ pain for at least 30 years, off and on. I have had several night guards that I end up taking out in the middle of the night because they annoy me and disturb my already poor sleep. This year, the pain I experience is now radiating in my right eyebrow and behind my eye. I run my finger from the inner side of my nose up and across my eyebrow to get relief, but that's not enough. I think this is related to the TMJ, however I did have shingles in my eye 15 yrs ago and treated it promptly. I began thinking that my tri-geminal nerve was now creating this pain, but after doing these massages for TMJ this morning, it appears to be all connected. I'm optimistic that these massages are my lifesaver. I was ready to make an appointment at a neurologist for my eye headache; this video has given me so much relief I am amazed and so appreciative. You are so easy to listen to and apply your techniques. Keep more coming!

@@mytravls thanks for your concern! I hope you feel better as well! No work anxiety as my work is pretty chill. I’ve always had migraines for the past 5-6 years but I know for a fact that getting my teeth extracted made it worse. On top of that, they had to pull out an extra tooth beside my wisdom tooth because somehow the crown broke off… this resulted in having an extra 1 hr long oral surgery which I know strained my jaw even more. I was awake during the whole thing so I could tell how strained it was gonna be. Work doesn’t help as well cause it’s a desk job and I’m looking down at documents for a long time too. There’s a bunch of other things but it will be too long of a comment 😂!

Good lord. So much pain relief. Been in sooo much pain from TMJ and what feels like a bad tooth just like you said, only I don’t have a bad tooth. Was looking for something that makes sense, and here it is! Bookmarking this to do as a home “pt” session of sorts, to do every day for a couple of weeks. Can’t thank you enough for this, for making it so accessible. Really appreciate this!

I am so thankful that you took the time to share all this. Daily headaches, tinnitus, dizziness, trips to the neurologist, MRIs and other tests... health anxiety had taken over my life. A dental hygienist noticed my clenched jaw muscles and said it could be TMJ (no doubt exacerbated by anxiety). These exercises provided some instant relief! Adding this to my daily routine!

This helped so much! I have TMJ leftover from wisdom teeth removal, so I get days where simply closing my mouth just feels wrong and unnatural. It'll feel misaligned. The pressure from basic up-and-down motions of chewing will be agony on my teeth on these days. If I press my index fingers on either side of my jaw by my ears, I can feel both sides wiggling asymmetrically as my mouth opens. Draw a quick squiggly line on a paper and that's what's happening. It can be incredibly painful. My left side is definitely worse; I can feel it in my neck and it wraps around my collarbone.
I remember my dad giving me a carpenter's bear hug so tight he actually popped my jaw. Felt great. For about 5 minutes. He basically shifted my jaw, and thus the pain to the other side.
Following your movements as you went just brought literally instantaneous relief. The last one was very unpleasant, but I can't argue with the results!
