Excellent lesson here. Really helps me develop my skills. Converted keyboard player looking for a little fun. Like you said, we have the rest of our lives to play, so why not explore new things and have a blast. I'm loving the journey. Keeps my keyboard timing sharp and ....did I already say it's just fun. LOL Thanks!
Michael Hill: Your comment made my day this morning -- just what I needed to hear to inspire me to try some new stuff as well. I hope you are still loving the journey and enjoying making music! Cheers!
@@insertmetalusernamehere Rudiments and drum rolls nice and solid tight now. Having more fun, need some parts for the other Pearl bass pedal but enjoying the experience of hitting skins immensely. Glad I didn't slack off and was determined to feel comfy at a drum kit. 67 now and not quitting nearly. It's fun besides...two sticks, tons of possibilities and tutorials galore online. Thx for asking. Cheers, Blessings....faster reflexes as we age is a good thing.
Ive only been at it a year. Just long enough to get an idea but still know nothing. Im glad its working out for you. Hopefully i can get there as well. Its a work in progress lol
This is has always been a problem for me due to the lack of tension on the toms as you mentioned. This exercise has helped me immensely. I’ve also been working on it by starting with a single (ie: RL LR RL LR, etc.). Loads of fun! Thanks.
Hi Jared this is T. from Music Mans Ladies Band. This "Double Stroke Rolls" lesson is great, yet REALLY challenging for me. I'm practicing the technique and 3 bar exercise. At this particular time Im keeping it at 60 beats per minute :) Your lessons are a great addition to my weekly lessons with Steve. Thank you!
Nice jared. This really inspires me to mess around on the kit with these double strokes. Considering I was on my high school drumline for years, my double strokes are pretty solid, I'm thinking more about the melodic approach. Great video!
Jared I love these shorter lessons you and the team at Drumeo put out. I am an Edge member and also love the longer lessons when I have the time. I am trying to clear my calendar from my start-up business to join Todd's upcoming Master class. Keep up the great work Jared and Drumeo!
Nice! What fun! I despise rudiments because it's so boring and repetitious. But this way of practicing and improving hand technique actually looks enjoyable. Thanks for the vid!
Nice work Jared, I am really learning a lot with your videos, I would like to be your student. Congratulations man again. That´s a pity I live in Brazil.
For me this lesson is more about orchestrating double strokes around the toms than uncover the secret of practicing them as to the lower rebound on the toms.
Great lesson Jared but not for me yet, I still have to develop independence among limbs but it will surely be very useful in a near future ( I hope) Thanks a lot!
Hey Drumeo! I've got some questions that i find it difficult about drum practicing. How do you proceed the routines? I mean shall i combine 3-5 different routines to one big one and how do i progress in this? Increasing the speed? Or getting it more tight? This is stopping me from progression. I'm getting confused about how i'm suppose to get tighter, faster. Shall i take one thing at the time? It's so hard because you can always get faster and tighter. Please help!
Hello jared sir....i am a very beginner on drum.....and what i wanna ask is...my left dont work properly i tried a lot but i cant control though....what should i do sir to improve my left hand....i will be so glad if you give me some suggestion
Hi I've recently started playing the drums, about 2 months to be exact. I'm a total novice and I'm just wanting to kw how long will it take me before I can play rolls that fast and acurate? I've got a couple of books I'm learning from ( stick control) (practice percussion).
Luke Rainforth your right keeps getting better as your left does too. Since your right was better in the first place, your left will never be as good as your right hand. You need to practice more with your left until its the same as your right
Man, these older videos are great quality and they have gotten so much better since then. You guys are awesome!!
I’ve been trying to find a lesson on this and this is it. So basically it’s all open stick rolls and you get the better speed sound with the triplets

Well to each his own. Don't hit those keys to hard with your sticks buddy.
Its been five years , how's the drums going?

is that inverted double?
Honestly, this is incredibly GREAT advice. If you do this on snare for 5 or 10 minutes a day you will be rockin it around the kit in no time.

hi Jared you still owe me 20 dollars

Great lesson Jared that's helped me a lot great sounding drums without drumeo a lot of new drummers would be lost keep up your great work mate

Coolest vid yet I love your work with the toms! That's insane!
As always your lessons are very helpful and well thought out. Thank you.
Jared is great but yet so humble = He's the best!
Alhamdulillah, ada kemanisan dc2 tuan.
Mantiaeppp 👍
Favorite lesson so far!!!
Thank you Jared ... the exercises will help anyone strengthen their doubles.
I'm lovin that little tom down by the floor tom
Sick.
Yes
using a one finger technique w rebound along with tight tuning drums makes this super easy.
One of the better lessons out there. Thanks!
This is my favorite lesson! Excellent, just what i'm searching for
That tickles when you do it.
Great video.
Awesome job Jared.
Good teacher, inspired a lot.
This improved my speed and creativity on the set. Thank you! +Drumeo
Nice work Jared, I am really learning a lot with your videos, I would like to be your student. Congratulations man again. That´s a pity I live in Brazil.
Great lesson Jared! Thank you👍💪
Nice work Jared!
This lesson ROCKS
Great lesson, I vibe naturally with doubles. Just gotta work past my 80bpm threshold 💙
Well done😀
Excellent drumer!
You are good teacher for me jared...yeah i love it.
awesome tx a lot
cheers!

Great lesson. Thanks, Jared
I need to see the technique you use to do doubles so quickly on the toms.
So great Jared...Thanks so much!!!
EXCELLENT BEAUTIFUL AMAZING SUBLIME INMORTAL 🎼 🥁 🎶 🎵
Great lesson, thanks
@ 100 bpm? Kidding? 🙈 I just decided that I'm absolutely happy with 60... thanks for the lesson 👍🏼
Killer and very helpful lesson. Thank you!!
Have you started to mic the bottom of the snare now? Sounds like a lot of snare side mic but I could be wrong.
this is really fun to play, thanks!
Please make a video on how to incorporate double stroke rolls as fills!!
I like your left snare drum position jared, it's on top of a floor tom, i've never seen that before..nice jared :D
Awesome lesson, as always. Thank to you, Jared! :)
This is good.
I don't even play drums. Still fun to watch :)
dank yung x,,
Beautiful and amazing
I've heard that practicing on a cushion with as little rebaund as possible is good to practice, is that so?
love this lesson.💗
Nice Jarred! Thanks
Is your kit new? Snare sounds not good but always awesome videos and lessons! Thnx Jared!
hey guys I think it would be really cool if you had a lesson on note displacements.
Great workout!
Good job.
Thank you.
I actually like the snare sound, very marching band like
Very nice.... can you upload rudimnt RLL ?
Great lesson Jared but not for me yet, I still have to develop independence among limbs but it will surely be very useful in a near future ( I hope) Thanks a lot!
nice intro jared!
thank´s man. You help me.
Slow clap**
Well done, Ser
Can you clarify how you're playing triplets with rrll.. I think I understand, but If I don't then you've inspired a whole different practice for me.

Drums Sound Awesome Man :)... Mic ? equipments ?
gökhan yarat snare sounds shit
Thanks brow
I like the kit so much jared how much did you buy that..????
wow free pro lessons
What's the smaller Yamaha bass drum all about? Is it a subwoofer of some sort?
Probably an aux kick I think for a different sound
I put it there just for fun. Just got it and felt bad leaving a member of the family out :)
Drumeo I feel the same way about my cymbals ;_;
Drumeo
reminds me of the movie Twins, it's the Danny deVito basdrum
Hello jared sir....i am a very beginner on drum.....and what i wanna ask is...my left dont work properly i tried a lot but i cant control though....what should i do sir to improve my left hand....i will be so glad if you give me some suggestion
Why your drum sheet doesn't show the right note location everytime u hit tom 1 , 2 and floor?
Supper class thank u sir
Hi Jared,Is that a new kit? usually i see you on a beige-ish kit
Hi I've recently started playing the drums, about 2 months to be exact.
I'm a total novice and I'm just wanting to kw how long will it take me before I can play rolls that fast and acurate?
I've got a couple of books I'm learning from ( stick control) (practice percussion).
I started to attend a drum school 5 months ago and it helps a lot.
Still playing?
That snare was sounding very bad , like biscuits and wafers crushed .
I hate to like negativity, but right on. Great lesson, horrible sounding snare.
because its a tom lesson
His piccolo snare on the left sounds nice ‘n crisp though
@@ifreemantoo The snare is tuned badly, that's the reason.
True but beside the point
muito bom...
marcos santos hay umesh rajput
awesome
I can do crazy rolls like this only with my right hand. How should i exercise my left hand more so that it can start to play like the right can?
Just keep practicing till your left hand gets used...
I play really often but i still cant quite get it with the left
I have the same problem. I think it's because I grip my left stick differently to my right hand.
it's cuz you practice more with your right hand... for example, you need to start playing your high hat with your left hand instead of your right
Luke Rainforth your right keeps getting better as your left does too. Since your right was better in the first place, your left will never be as good as your right hand. You need to practice more with your left until its the same as your right
Awesome technique....Funky as H...!
this is gr8
Why the switch to Yamaha drums????
Nice....
what's a note ?
Niieece
Why is the snare sounds like that?
This is very similar to samba
I know how to use double stroke in snare but it's to hard to use as roll
Sorry but that snare sounds awful.
How does he sound though?
That's because the bottom snare mic is very loud in the mix.
Bora Kaplan ep
His piccolo snare on the left sounds nice ‘n crisp though
Umesh rajput
sounds good to me, like a Ludwig
