Agreed that most people are ethical. I also believe that anyone who uses technology to break the law, started breaking laws before the use of any sort of technology.
One rule I think a lot of hunters break is the no bullets in gun or arrow out of the quiver outside legal shooting hours. Let me be clear and concise. If sunrise is at 7AM and you are allowed to hunt 30 minutes prior to sunrise meaning you are legal to shoot at 6:30 AM. I know a cornucopia of people that load their gun prior to 6:30 AM. Let's say they start heading into the woods at 6 AM to get to stand by 6:30 AM, the hunters will load up their guns then before they get to their stand so prior to legal shooting light meaning they are breaking the rules. This does happen for bowhunters also. They may get to their stand before 6:30 AM and then take an arrow out of the quiver and string to bow. You are not allowed to have an arrow out of quiver before legal shooting hours.
That’s likely going to vary state by state. Mine says it is illegal to “hunt 30 minutes after sunset to 30 minutes before sunrise unless hunting furbearers”, doesn’t elaborate on what specifically constitutes “hunting”, but I’ve never heard anyone here think it meant anything other than when you can legally shoot, not load.
My man, I"m 54 and have had run ins with all kinds of situations in the woods and rural locations, if you think I'm stepping out of my truck without a loaded gun, you've not spent a lot of time in the backwoods. I carry a large caliber pistol that is loaded with a round in the chamber, always. I also do not hunt public land, as where I'm from that is recipe for a confrontation and/or accidentally getting shot because some idiot shoots at moving brush. Not to mention its a free for all, no one knows where anyone else is at, thats just stupid.
@grinder881: I hunt from the time i can see a deer till the time i can’t. I know it’s before and after hours but idc. Not going to pass on a big buck because some nerd in a suit said i can’t shoot till a specific time.
@@letsgobrandon7297 I hunt every legal minute I can. I do all day sits for rifle. I will tell you I do load up my rifle before entering the woods, so legally I am breaking the law. I refuse to go to my stand and then load the 4 bullets into my rifle and then rack one into the chamber and make all that noise. Also, I REFUSE to rack four shells out of the rifle once legal shooting light ends and I climb down from stand. I hunt with an OLD 300 Savage that you manually have to load 3 bullets into clip (clip isn't made to separate from gun meaning you can't unclip the magagize) I try to sneak into/ away from stand quietly. The more and more and more I think about it I don't think any of our 11 members or sons load/unload their rifle while at stand.
@@michaelcope2329 I also am 54. I think I got really scared (I mean I know I was scared, but it affected me my whole life) when I heard a bear growling at me in the dark. Since I was only 14 and only being my 1st time to the stand in the dark I had flashlight on and I saw the bear and the teeth. From that point on I have NEVER entered the woods with an empty rifle. If that means I am breaking the law by having my rifle loaded before/after legal shooting hours while walking to/back from stand, then so be it. I do hunt of state land, but kind of know the hunters that hunt around me. I think the closest hunter to me is almost a 1/2 mile away.
For every hunter like you Josh there is a CJ Alexander as well. There is a lot of bad apples out there that make the actual hunter look bad. The amount of guys using drones and thermal scopes now would shock you.
@ said using drones to kill deer? Pretty funny actually, so even if you spot one with a drone you’re going to have to go try and get it! Makes no sense!
I will never support or understand people who support hunting influencers. I don’t think that there is a significant poaching problem, but I feel like there is too many people hunting because they think it’s the “cool” thing to do. Which in turn makes people poach because they want to have the biggest deer on social media, or the most ducks or such. I could care less if someone poaches to feed their family, but poaching to show off on social media makes me sick. I’ve seen too many people who shoot deer at night, dump ducks after pile pictures, and bait duck holes with corn just for social media clout. The vast majority go without being caught. If you go on instagram or TikTok now a days, almost half of the hunting content I see are people joking about poaching. If it’s a joke it’s one thing, but unfortunately a lot of people out there do it to be “cool”
The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the various laws have pitted the hunters, and fishermen against each other. If you use natural bait to catch a fish, you are ridiculed by the fishermen who only use artificial baits. And you’re not a true fisherman unless you use a fly rod, and handmade flies. The deer hunters are no different than the fisherman. As long as you are enjoying your sport, and follow the rules, and limits, then keep your comments private. I remember when, “ you were not considered an ethical deer hunter, if your rifle had a telescopic sight.” Only iron sights were seen to be fair, to give the deer “a chance”. The anti hunter groups are enjoying watching us fight amongst ourselves.
It is unfortunate that a true poacher or even a true hunter that does not report the kill and that affects the overall population tally that is used by DEC or ECon to establish the amount of tags the following year. I do not feel our deer population is as big as they are trying to claim that it is. At least in my area. When I was a kid we could go for an hour ride and see 100 or more deer 15-20 in each field. Now you can drive all day and not see a single deer.🇺🇸🙏
Watching this makes me go back to one thing Dan said, “if I ever shot a buck that’s close to record book, I’m calling a game warden before moving it.” I think hunters hurt themselves getting on the next hunter on hype about what they do, ppl need to worry about themselves. The biggest thing now that I’m hearing is these big named hunters are paying x amount of dollars to kill the 200” deer that lives on a certain property, someone is always gonna be jealous about what someone else does period.
I was checked by DNR this year and I didn't have my paper license on me because my printer broke and i fogot to get my wife to print it out for me at her work. Luckily im ocd so i had taken a phone picture of my license on my computer screen when i bought it and the officer said that was fine and i was good to go. Its easy to forget a small detail. I got the paper print out the next day to make sure im covered lol.
I'll go out on a limb and say probably a good 95 % of hunters do everything legally. You made some valid points on this one. I messed up last turkey season, i hit auto renew for my licenses, didn't think anything about checking because the app we have shows licenses tags ect. Come to find out it didn't renew, so that could've been some type of error on my end or something with the go outdoors app, i caught it when i started out to turkey hunt, and took care of it, but would have owned up to the mistake if i wouldn't have double checked and found out. Some folks will make every excuse in the world for why they aren't good hunters, and play the poaching card, or become poachers themselves, to me thats the whole tomato/ tawmotto thing.
I hate field cameras all over the wood's! Some spots have more cameras than an NFL stadium! I see it like this, why do I need a camera telling me that it's deer crap, after that big signs of bigger deer are very easy to detect. You could drop a camera on a trail and forget about it! Or you can spend 2 hikes in late winter figuring a good place to set a tree up! Then walk away until you hunt it! Let others enjoy public land without intimidating them with cameras on every trail
Sorry, I forgot to add that I think trail cameras are now used more for spying. I respect others’ property, but that doesn’t mean I can’t pose for the camera. “I’m here, too!” 😁 We joke about the kind of fun that can be had….
I have been deer hunting for 50 years. There maybe some legitimate reasons for that person’s comments. I know not ALL hunters hunt illegally. But in the last 10 years I have realized by talking with hunters. That a lot of hunters in the area I hunt are illegally baiting and shooting deer illegally over it.
I believe that someone who makes that kind of comment or accusations is probably an anti hunter, just making hunters look bad. I would hope that comment was not made by a hunter. But, it wouldn't surprise me today the way hunters treat other hunters.
When I hear someone say all the celebrities must be poaching it makes me believe that the person making the comment has never been as successful as that celebrity and therefore thinks you have to poach to be more successful than them. Another option is the individual making the comment is a poacher and therefore believes if you're successful you must be a poacher as well. Its all ego. Guys really think there is no one better than them. Take this mentality and add the celebrities that have been caught poaching in recent years and it just feeds the ego of the basement dwellers.
Something that bothers me (in NY) is guys shooting during gun season WELL before and after legal shooting time. ESPECIALLY if there’s snow on the ground. I’m always surprised opening morning when I hear the first shot. And even now, during late muzzleloader, I’ll be halfway back to the truck in the evening and hear a shot. Silly, in my opinion. 🤷♂️
I didnt register a deer b4 and was asked about it. I was totally honest and upfront about it, it was an out of state hunt and u had to stop at a registration spot. Had to forfit my buck while it was at the taxidermist and a 3k fine. Ouch. Game Warden was not professional about it either. But i was lazy and broke the law so lesson learned.
there was a comment I found on a IG video from a hunter saying that bow hunting is for savages or something like that. and I was like well I know who isn't going to help bow hunters if america tries to ban bow hunting like south australia did
@@beforetheecho yeah I know there is a lot of european countries you can't bow hunt in and yeah we're very lucky to be able to bow hunt in the US. also kind of sucks to know why australia banned bow hunting which who knows they might have been trying to do that for a while just someone finally gave them excuse to do it
Pretty much boils down to jealousy, heck I want to get a drone to check for trespassers because if I walk the property I’ll just be running the deer to them!
😂one time an acquantaince of mine shot a booner on his first hunt in 20 years. And I instantly asked if it was high fence😂 very rude of me as he killed it at a spot he duck hunts at near public land. Cool things happen! But mostly dudes killing mature bucks are doing so via tons of time scouting and in stand. I get to go on like 12 or so sits a season. The big time killers have like 60 sits in a season. I feel like a lot of dudes ignore this time invested.
Unfortunately, I think it's only a matter of time before drones are exploited in the hunt the industry for or all the wrong reasons. I think the general hunting community as a whole is Honest and have integrity. The up and coming generation that see this technology has a child, Will completely change hunting in the near future. If you think about it, it's turning hunting into a digital video game, literally.
When you make something profitable that should be just a great outdoor hobby , thats where we went wrong. people are lovers of themselves now days and we are living in the days of Noah. The trophy hunting brings the worst out of people. Boils down to their giant egos !!!
I know this guy who believes the government is the biggest poacher....he says yet the peoples keep giving them the power When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, But when a wicked man rules, people groan. - Proverbs 29:2 *REPENT FOR THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN IS AT HAND*
Probably jealous. There are some A-hole hunters out there tho. One time a new archery hunter came to an area i was hunting (which he didn’t have permission), i showed him different spots to hunt and told him where i hunt (just so he didn’t come walking up to me while hunting). I told him if my cars here that’s where i’l be. Next day he comes walking up and sits 30 yds away from me. Same spot 1st day of rifle i had another person come sit 50 yds away, i was so mad i almost rolled him down the hill. His dad came but agreed with me that he shouldn’t have done that. FYI, I am the best hunter in the world!
What it takes is for everyone to mind their own business. Don't worry what the next guy shoots,if it's legal. And non hunters, who don't approve of it,can find another hobby, instead of judging . I don't watch sports,I think it's a waste of time, when you could be outside doing something productive. But I don't care if other people watch it.
Is a coyote eating the placenta from the fawn before it hits the ground a poacher. A racoon that eats 3 turkey nests a poacher. What kind of duche poacher takes 25 largest racks of 50 in possession. Conservation
Na. There is nothing wrong with social media or technology...Humans that use the technology are sinners and can't handle it. We blame it on these things but in reality it's peoples lack of discipline that is the issue.
I agree with the guy who made the comment.. just because something is legal doesn’t make it ethical. Drones, cell cams, and 5 deer bag limits have no place in hunting. My opinion only.
No i agree with you too... thats not what his comment was. (that was me just rambling LOL) His comment was along the lines of most people are shooting deer illegally.
Tv ruined bass fishing and now deer hunting the pressure to compete and get a big deer is so great I have had guys threaten me on my own property saying they owned it as they wanted to hunt it so bad it’s ridiculous to the point I quit hunt all together and leased it out with the rule the guys that hunt have to run off all the poachers road hunters. Too bad it used to be fun but tv and RUclips ruin it.
Guides and outfitters came in shot up all the trophy’s for their websites and then guide hunter on the 2 year old 8 points and doe everyone shoots those so they don’t go home empty handed from a 5000.00 hunt now the buck doe ratio is out of whack and the genetics is gone. All done by out of staters trying to cash in on big bucks monkey see monkey do like on tv.
It’s to hard to Outlaw now with the ballistic an thermal drones that the game commission uses, Just not worth it anymore. Even if you get dropped off to get the buck out the drones can pick up your heat signature.
In my experience, almost without fail, accusations like this one are undoubtedly admissions! This fellow is basically admitting he uses every unfair unethical method he can to kill deer, and simply does not believe anyone else could take a deer otherwise and without cheating! (Simply because he can't!)
Get back to enjoying the chase, stop trying to get liked on social media! Your robbing yourself of your own free mind to unwind! Warriors don't need approval, just a space to be one!
Dog hunters around here run their dogs all over property they don't belong on. No regard. I've learned to just cope, but it bothers me a lot when they ruin my kids' hunts
CJ unscripted. Hooked to lie detector and tell us true story. Xbow or gun? How hard was it to move it? Daytime or night? He’d pay for part of his $45,000 fine in one show that goes viral. And apologize for lying to us all.
If someone didn't shoot a big deer then turn around and sell it for conversation there wouldn't be poachers or bullshit laws for game. God gave us these animals for food not to sell for the price of a condo. That's why there's problems anything that involves money has problems
Celebrities like you can’t afford even one blemish like not buying that $5 tag. I know it’s ridiculous but it’d probably follow you forever and you ain’t got the time to explain it to the zillion people.
Idk anyone who isnt or hasnt broke game laws somehow somewhere in pa if you retrieve your deer bow kill or rifle after dark its illegal especailly all the pics you see everywhere of guys with there bows laying on deer in the middle of the night in the woods shit i think all these cry babies need to worry about there self alot of people worry way to much about everyone else poaching isnt any worse than it ever was around here only thing is now days we have better deer and that is the targets it use to be guys getting meat which isnt the case so much anymore and if it is there selling if money
I left that comment Josh. I stated the guy in fact uses his drone to find animals whether it be deer, turkeys or waterfowl…he also kills deer all summer with nuisance permits legally (whatever New Jersey labels them as) at night with thermal…that is factual…in no way did I intend to pass judgement towards hunters as a whole, just him specifically…i was referencing his social media that i was shown…I don’t use social media nor see any other harvest unless somone shows me in person or here on yt…I frankly said I wonder how many of those deer were killed with the use of his drone…specifically more so in relation to the regular deer season…the paraphrase was off target but I comprehend how conversating through text can be viewed in many different contexts. To call me egotistical is your opinion…and perhaps that may be changed in the future or perhaps not…I have thick enough skin to take it but with the admission to the use of drones to find animals, I think it’s an honest question…is it not? I call it how I see it…truth is truth I merely pondered the question…to each their own…I am happy for anyone that finds success in whatever way they find it…legal or not…just don’t hurt your fellow man or his property…see I’m supportive lol…I’m glad I could spark the inspiration for some content the comments should be productive…I am above no one and hold to my own code… not everyone is me and ethics have no boundaries or classification…there can be justification for nearly anything…narratives how ever can be dissected and critisized …I enjoy your content I can’t say I’ve ever been portrayed as that much of a weird egotistical mad man in my recent memory 😆 all good I’m all for busting balls and calling out the truth…good and bad neither have boundaries…it’s all within the perception of any given individual…our world and its current state is proof of that…hope this comment can bring some common ground as opposed to division…if you were referencing my username as far as ego driven…I put little effort into it…that is simply my given nickname at work…and no I am not a male stripper 😮 happy hunting brothers and sisters ❤️

I’ve poached almost 100 deer before I was 13 years old in the middle of nowhere and also ate deer. We hit on the highway. I never wasted anything because I had to feed the family when I use the 22 that people say you’re not supposed to use That my single mother bought for me when I was four and I would guess that most people that poach do it because they have a really good reason to do it and learn how to do it in the middle of the night, but I have no idea I’m not an expert. I haven’t even gone hunting in 25 years because I can just go down to Sam’s Club by steak. Your experience may differ. 😊. And I made all this up. I’ve never gone hunting
Most time if you're to soft for RUclips you wouldn't last as long as I have. I literally talk about the most controversial topics on RUclips, hunting, religion, and some politics. I think my skin is plenty thick.

You are 100% correct on both, drones and thermal scopes. Its way, way, more prevalent than you think.
Didn’t know civilians had armed drones???
@ who said anything about armed drones?
@ said using drones to kill deer? Pretty funny actually, so even if you spot one with a drone you’re going to have to go try and get it! Makes no sense!
@@inthewoods3237did you eat paint chips when you were a kid?
It boils down to lazy people wanting the reward's that hard working hunters get by putting in the time and effort for a chance at a big deer
We have guys that all they do is drive deer even on opening day and ruin hunting for everyone else the deer are spooked the entire season
@@jeremyrock9305 If it is on their property, it is their business.
The anti hunter groups are enjoying watching us fight amongst ourselves.
not all hunter are poachers there are some of us who follow the rules and there are those who don't
A trophy is what you think it is. Don’t let anybody else. Tell you otherwise.
I don't think there are as many deer either
No just an insurance companies making lots of the calls.
@@jamiephillips1801 I forgot to get my hunting license in the mailbox for a year. I haven’t gone hunting in 50 years.
I poached an egg once
hahah you rebel!
I’ve never used a trail camera to get deer, and I don’t even own one. Old school sign reading, woodsmanship, and just plain common sense rule!
Some hunters unload their muzzle loader after hunting, which could be what you heard.
@ Yea at the end of the season. Every time they go out?

I didnt register a deer b4 and was asked about it. I was totally honest and upfront about it, it was an out of state hunt and u had to stop at a registration spot. Had to forfit my buck while it was at the taxidermist and a 3k fine. Ouch. Game Warden was not professional about it either. But i was lazy and broke the law so lesson learned.
there was a comment I found on a IG video from a hunter saying that bow hunting is for savages or something like that. and I was like well I know who isn't going to help bow hunters if america tries to ban bow hunting like south australia did
Yep tons of countries cannot bow hunt. We are very lucky
I agree 100%. Folks who are working the hardest are getting the job done. Laziness gets you nothing. If you want it, go get it and pay your dues
I think the general hunting community as a whole is
Honest and have integrity.

I always give the hunter the 👍 in his trophy success. I even gave Alexander Hunter a 👍
Alot of it is jealousy and people being upset everyone else doesn't do things exactly like they do.
Poachers definitely give hunters a bad rep, just like fishing, and social media has just made it worse
You can't change the opinions of others I deer hunt I don't even have a drone and I hunt like my dad taught me
The best hunter you never know
I like runny eggs,I guess that makes me a poacher as well
What it takes is for everyone to mind their own business.

Social media and technology ruined everything
It’s to hard to
Outlaw now with the ballistic an thermal drones that the game commission uses,
Just not worth it anymore.
I agree with you. I agree with the other comments that hunters are the community’s worst enemy
Certain people grow up hanging around and knowing many poachers. Their for everybody to them is a poacher...
Dog hunters around here run their dogs all over property they don't belong on. No regard. I've learned to just cope, but it bothers me a lot when they ruin my kids' hunts
Haters gonna hate! Social media has made the world nuts with envy!
Is a poacher a poacher or just smarter than everybody else ? There are no game laws only rules and regulations.

Poaching is doing something illegal while hunting game.period! Whatever it is. Imho
I think truly it needs to be intentional, not condoning not knowing the law but at times things happen.
All good man, if you don't have social media there really isn't a way for you to know what is on it. I was probably harsh on you, just get tired of the bickering online sometimes.
@ no worries, take care and keep up the good work
I support you both here. I find some laws silly and I find silly hunters in the woods. good read here
unfortunately americans are now not willing to do the work and look for easy success which is rare . we need a renaissance of culture and honor
