    About the cell cams I’ve seen the rebuttals and sure I don’t think they hear them, but do we know if they feel them?? I feel your pain with the ladder stand! I have to do them by myself so have to carry an aluminum ladder put a pulley up there and pull it up seat first with a rope! Gettin the fever!!

    I give props to hill country hunters, got a ton of stuff to pay attention to, thermals especially, I can look at a map in farm county and see most of the transitions, my main problem in farm country is an access without detection, but I rarely have problems with finding transitions and with thermal currents.

    I think on the chestnut oaks, they have alot of tannins in them early and the deer do not like them. They have other oaks to eat and I think the more the chestnut oak lays there the less tannins are them later in the year.

    Josh, totally off the subject of the video but I'm curious about something. I live in north central Indiana and I know you're further south. Do you ever run across any copperheads in your area. We don't have them here but I know they do in southern Indiana. Just curious.

  • @ukjw2

    I don't think you're crazy but I also don't think cell cams bother deer more than any other camera. I have been using them for many years and I ALWAYS get good buck pictures.

    I think it's got something to do with the like electrical field that they put off cuz the antennas and stuff regular SD card cams don't have any of that I'm sure they put off some electrical signal but there's no way it can be as strong as a cell

    Pumped for season to start. Me and my bow headin out to set a few stands today. Good luck this season everyone. Dude the stick on the bino's is a great tip.

  • @tonyellis6383
    @tonyellis6383 8 часов назад

    Yeah, cell cam's, cell phone's emit EMF. I guess the EMF strength is stronger from cell than like a GPS by quite a bit. But there are some studies indicating that animals can detect EMF, but cell cam EMF, no idea and probably nobody knows at this point. Humans do emit EMF, but from my understanding it is pretty low. But, there is HECS camo that some people swear by that blocks your EMF when you get really nervous. It is all just very interesting. so according to HECS camo and maybe what other hunters are experiencing with cell cams, i suppose it is possible this is a problem.

    Yes I believe they spook some mature bucks, this year is a good example of that. Regular sd camera on a brook crossing, two mature bucks every evening and almost every morning. Put a cell camera out, the first buck stops and stared at it then the next picture it's running, the bigger one walked right up to it and just stood there... haven't had either one on camera since but I know they still cross close by because I saw them both after dark. I'm just going back to my old school ways before trail cameras were a thing

    hey nice vid. Ya I have most of my issues between about 15 yards where instinctive gives out for me and about 30 yards where my point on is. If I am on the chest wall I can gap but I find if I'm off the body of the target I have a lot of issues.

    I don’t agree that they spook deer. If you put one in a buck bed sure, but if you put them in the woods months before season and leave the area alone, the deer won’t be spooked, as long as they aren’t red flash cams. I have 5 mature bucks on cam on cell cams, and have 1 of those 5 on cam A LOT, on pressured public land in PA. I do not think they spook deer as long as they are black flash cams.

    i dare you to show John Eberhart the straps you're using with those cell cams, and then tell him you're not getting any deer on them.... he's gonna tell you that on the pressured land he hunts, a deer will see that strap and totally avoid the area. As a side note, this year i'm wearing my Scentlok gear (because it was on sale super cheap), but I'll darn sure be letting the milkweed tell me where I'm gonna set up my stand.....
