Pumped for season to start. Me and my bow headin out to set a few stands today. Good luck this season everyone. Dude the stick on the bino's is a great tip.
I got a kick out of the ladder move. Been there! Those tall ones are definitely a 2-man job.
Cool scout. Believe it or not I took down, moved and reinstalled a double ladder stand by myself this spring in SW WI hill country. Almost died 43 times but got it done. LOL!
Thanks for the bino tip! Seems reasonable. I never can find acorns in trees from shaking lol
I can’t wait for opening day here in Pennsylvania October 5th. I have to do more scouting
I give props to hill country hunters, got a ton of stuff to pay attention to, thermals especially, I can look at a map in farm county and see most of the transitions, my main problem in farm country is an access without detection, but I rarely have problems with finding transitions and with thermal currents.
We had no acorns last year. Falling pretty good this year and they are gobbling them up
That hat and stick deal is slick
ladder stands !!!! just put one up one week ago talk about work!!!!!!!
At 11:24 there appears to be a buck image made by the clouds over your right shoulder. Maybe an omen, God is always watching. Amen.
Covered 6 miles today. Zero runs. One dead buck from EHD in velvet. Few acorns
I think on the chestnut oaks, they have alot of tannins in them early and the deer do not like them. They have other oaks to eat and I think the more the chestnut oak lays there the less tannins are them later in the year.
"im wore out, ladder stands suck"..lol
About the cell cams I’ve seen the rebuttals and sure I don’t think they hear them, but do we know if they feel them?? I feel your pain with the ladder stand! I have to do them by myself so have to carry an aluminum ladder put a pulley up there and pull it up seat first with a rope! Gettin the fever!!
Mast crops of any kind have been slim pickins here in missouri this year.
I dont know if they are avoiding cell cams or not, but deer season is so important to me that im putting my cell phone on airplane mode from now on while in the stand or blind
My deer woods have green acorns strowed everywhere from storm winds etc. And the deer dont have to come out to ag. Or food plots ...
Yeah Josh I had a couple of bucks on my cell cam back in July and now nothing. ? Seems to be a trend or something. I changed the frequency on when I get my pictures uploaded so hopefully that helps 👍🏼🦌
I went to one of Dan ‘s seminars in Wisconsin earlier this year and I didn’t realize that you were from Southern Indiana. I’m from New Albany. Do you ever do any hunting in Harrison Crawford State forestry?
I don't
I think it's got something to do with the like electrical field that they put off cuz the antennas and stuff regular SD card cams don't have any of that I'm sure they put off some electrical signal but there's no way it can be as strong as a cell
Cellular signals are everywhere nowadays. I haven’t seen it bother them at all.
I haven’t seen oaks dropping acorns. Here and there. I see them and hear them falling, but not like last year last year. We had mask crops.
im convinced cell cams spook big bucks. I have no science to back it. but I run a shit ton of cameras cell and regular. I dont get as many repeat pics of big bucks on the cell cams as i do on the regular sd cams.
Ladder stands suck! Period! I hate putting them up and I hate sitting in them.
Whats your opinion on putting things around ladder stands . Like camo burlap. Do you think is does more harm than good.
I'm not sure. We've never done that before
Lol... your crazy. We all are when the sun rises...
I don't think you're crazy but I also don't think cell cams bother deer more than any other camera. I have been using them for many years and I ALWAYS get good buck pictures.
Josh, do you have any concerns about blowing up the area by walking around this late looking for dropping oaks?
Not really
Josh, totally off the subject of the video but I'm curious about something. I live in north central Indiana and I know you're further south. Do you ever run across any copperheads in your area. We don't have them here but I know they do in southern Indiana. Just curious.
I don't
One guy stand on the end of the ladder other guy walks it up keeps that from happening it’s a pain alone that’s for sure
Yep. The problem with that stand is that it's 22ft tall and heavy. So we almost needed 3 guys but we got it
@@beforetheecho ohh yea I understand that now .
Are u guys using any scent killer or anything to try and be scent free as possible
No I don't think that stuff works very well. But if you like it I would use it
I agree only thing I like is evercalm
I got a buddy that likes that too
