      you're welcome! and thanks for responding! Quick question: I have long hair, about waist length. When I put it up in a ponytail it falls into two "chunks" (the top part of it is fuller and then there are longer pieces at the bottom), and there isn't an even gradient, if that makes sense. Any recommendations as to what I should ask for or do with my hair to make it look more normal? I would like to keep as much length as possible...also I'm realizing this question is a lot longer than intended, sry :P

    • @Ellebangs
      @Ellebangs  10 лет назад +1

      yahee122 it sounds like you have tooo many layers in your hair and then a small chunk thats basically there to give you length. If you dont want to get rid of a bit of length you will have to let it grow a little more in order to get a cut to fade out the layers a little more :)

      I cut my sisters hair while I was in cosmetology school and since I had practiced on doll heads I thought "ok no big deal, I can do this" however the results were so far off than what we expected. I cut too much length off and gave her bangs. I guess i didn't expect hair to shrink so much after drying lol. So long story short, shes crying and I'm crying and my dad was just confused on what was going on lol the experience traumatized me and my sister for quite a while.. now I always do her hair :)

      Cut my boyfriends hair, because he came home with a sidecut but the lengths weren't corrected at all- his hairdresser simple did a horizontal cut there and sent him home lol my bf refused to go back for a correction so I thinned out his thick asian hair so his sidecut didn't look like a mullet anymore lol (IT WAS A MULLETT)

      They make scissors that are "better" for dry cutting or wet cutting. But at they end of the day super sharp high quality scissors will give you a clean cut no matter what.

    It bothers me when licensed cosmetologist don't like sharing or demonstrating things and also get mad when other licensed professionals do. It's hair! You not showing us how to add freon to our cars! Yes that's best left to a professional! I think you handle those naysayers very well in your comments I have to say. Don't they realized that the more open you are to teaching your client or just a person more overall you are to likely have their business overall as a client. Look how people want you to do their hair and wish they live in your city!
