Welcome to the FBO Life! You will smell more of the exhaust with the catless header but you will get use to it and the smell will go away.. The hiss does suck a little.. Mine hiss a tiny bit when I first put the header on but it went away.. I feel like the depending on the exhaust and intake and after the break in.. the hiss will fade

Idk if anyone answered but the skunk 2 gasket it comes with hisses. Replace with OEM EP3 or S2000 gasket and the hissing will go away.

Congrats on the header. You should get the full race exhaust and a 3.5 inch intake that's what I have on my fg2 and it makes the world of a difference with the header.

Use ep3 or s2000 donut gasket fix the hiss clean car bro
@@MindUpGYa, I ended up getting a s2k gasket, it helped but still hisses. But its just what it is with basically a long tube header.
You're gonna make some nice numbers with this mod. Alpha header is one of the best

Nice choice in header man! I have the same ride and went the k-tuned header, had then for 4 years now. I was thinking of going skunk2 alpha headers but my numbers on the dyno are good for shell 91octane gas. That's what I tuned my car on. I went catless life for a bit but it gets too stinky when it is 30+ degree's I found so i just instead a highflowcat and no stink now guy and it helped with some drone noise too.FBO life! chyea

If you get a louder exhaust.. Please go with the XLR8 3" exhaust or Go Power 3" Exhaust.. You can only find them used on fb groups! They have a nice deep tone and not crazy loud.

Before you get a dyno tune you have to swap out that oil pump to a rsx type s one. Inexpensive mod that will net you good power. Consider it
i would suggest him getting a 3.5 inch cold air intake which is cheaper and net him more gains when tuned, the oil pump is like 400$ or close and not including plus install labor. you wont gain much once you are heat soak with that hot air intake with or without the oil pump

I just ordered the alpha headers for my 2007 Civic Si Coupe. I'm excited but i'm a little worried about the install because all of the reviews. Do you have any suggestions for the install? Btw I really enjoyed the positive motivation. Great video man
Thanks bro, appreciate it! I guess this header is a little bit tight for fitment, but you’ll love it and it fits. I recommend switching the donut gasket with one from an ep3 or an s2000 one. Also a rear motor mount will be needed

Same as a catback it will sound different once they get the carbon built up inside of them
The tone of the sound will change from the header

@@msalazar89 You will see.. After a while! The hiss sound will die down.. The stock header doesn't hiss.. He will keep us updated on the videos! I have the skunk2 megapower catless header.. The megapower header piping is a little thicker than the alpha header.. Non the less same thing

Thanks! I don’t recall using any brackets, just bolted on and s2k donut gasket. Tune is recommended

Thanks! You could install it yourself, but because these cars are tight space most people get them installed

Thanks! It was just 17x9 on 235 federal tires. Fender roll was needed
I love the setup! Just curious, do you plan on putting DEI heat wrap on the wirings or header DEI wrap to avoid components being melted?
Thanks! The shop ended up zip tying the wiring near the components so it would be fine, but the heat wrap would also help and make extra power. Maybe I could do it later
I just got the Ktuned headers for mine and it comes with the test pipe and o2 defouler... already have Q300 cat back installed, gonna try to install headers myself. Pretty sure my stock ones are leaking because it has really loud drone and weird hissing sound sometimes
Could definitely be leaking or the cat going out you’re right. Good luck on the install, these cars are tight but it’s possible. You’ll love the difference

Did you use the donut gasket that came with it and did you also install any aftermarket motor mounts prior to the header install?
In this vid I there was no aftermarket motor mounts and still used the same gasket. Will make an update!

Can’t really tell in the video. But did he had to drop subframe down a bit to slide in the alpha headers? Will be doing one on my boys 8th Si and was under the impression that it needed to be dropped.
For this install, the shop figured out a way to slide in the header without dropping the subframe. Should be possible! But dropping it makes more room of course

I already had a flashpro custom tune with the car, so I didn’t get any engine lights with this. For the 9th gen you should pick a map with your mods, I’m assuming the one with the short ram, cat delete, and catback exhaust

No worries bruh, that’s what happens with the basemaps. You never know if it will work for you. There should be a few Honda tuners in your area or go e tune. (Derf, Dardan)

I have an 8th gen si too, what are your wheel specs? I’m thinking of upgrading to wheels that are 18x9 +25 will those fit?
I’m running 17x9 17x8 both +45. You can definitely fit those specs, but it might be a struggle since it’s really aggressive

Were you on the factory tune already when u had the header installed? And did it throw an engine light after?
I had an actual tune during this install. Header came with a defouler so no engine light
Just curious why’d he cut the cat off if it can just unbolt from the rest of your exhaust and the new header bolts directly to exhaust?
I believe he just the bolts from the cat. The hardware was too short for the new header to bolt to the exhaust!
You need a Cai get rid of the short ram

You should definetly get a cai. I have the same header and exhaust, with hybrid racing cai. I made pretty good numbers. Definetly worth it!

Yeah the tune is recommended. The header can make the engine run rich or lean

What did you need for all this swap I have the q300 and alpha header but it only has the two bolts on the alpha header? Was there a specific kit? Please help?
The header or catback should come with an adapter so they can bolt up together with the three bolt flange. Also will need a new donut gasket (ep3 or s2000). Check out my vid for the unboxing!

Yeah that’s why, hopefully you can find one. I got my gasket from amazon, Honda always got it tho

You are losing power with the intake you currently have. Heat soak is horrible with that intake. Hybrid Racing 3.5 inch is the intake to have and pulls in colder air all the time. Cheating yourself right now.
Yeah you’re right a cold air intake setup is the best way to go with these cars. In the future, I figured I might end up going the boost route that way I don’t have relocate the battery and everything.
