My cousin has a 19 Suburban he bought. We did a bunch of stuff ot it including cleaning the TB. It even sounded like it had an exhaust leak. All we did was the relearn and even the exhaust leak sound went away.

What if you unplugged the throttle body to clean and then after plug the throttle body back in?
Wow. Nice. I’m going to try this out on my car soon. Wonder if it will help with gas mileage.
So is the throttle positioning sensor reading the percentage or the MAF sensor?
The throttle body has a motor and its own position sensor, reading % opening of the throttle plate. The MAF sensor is a separate sensor located in the air intake duct after the air cleaner, reading the weight of airflow in grams/sec.

@gregjohnson2073 The carbon deposits stop the throttle plate from closing to the desired position.
The plate is spring-loaded, not directly connected to the motor, so the plate stops when it contacts the carbon build-up.
Amazing that a small amount of build-up alters the reading from 17% to less than 10%. 😃
