The scariest boss ever to me is Bowser from Yoshi’s Island. The gigantic Bowser approaching from the background is freaking terrifying… plus the music is flawless.
I would argue that the scariest boss in LM2 is the spider in gloomy manor. Just seeing this giant possessed arachnid with glowing eyes in an unknown basement really freaked me out, especially since it’s the first boss, and I didn’t know what to expect from it.
I'm an arachnophobe, so spider bias. If I'd see them in real life I'd prolly casually walk away from the ice face which I wouldn't think could even move. I'd RUN from a spider that's five times my size and hope to get away.

I thought I was stupid for being scared of wiggler in mario sunshine when I was younger. I stood on the island and continuously watched its movement patterns until I stopped being too scared to attack it. It was definitely scarier as it got faster. The phantamanta didn't bother me because it was just a shadow. The fight was more difficult, but wiggler looked like it was going to kill me
Nah, Yoshi's Island has to go to Baby Bowser. How he grows huge, his eyes shimmering as his body is covered in a shadow, and how he slowly creeps up on you till suddenly, he's at full charge.
Honestly, the final cut attack from the scissors boss is super easy to dodge, at least for me. I broke out the sheathe turn 1, and easily avoided every single final cut attack.
I personally count Donkey Kong games as Mario games, and whilst I usually wouldn't have bothered, you did include the Yoshi games. I do believe that Donkey Kong games should be included, since Mario's first appearance was (technically) a Donkey Kong title. No hard feelings though, as it is an otherwise great list
Actually, for Mario Party 9, the dices in Bowser Jr's battle aren't exactly RNG, because they're literally a model flipping, so if you time it correctly you can get the number you want, so for creepiness I'd go for Bowser or one of the Mansion bosses

in paper mario the origami king its handacoma 100%, this whole section of the game was just creepy, as olivia was dragged by a mysterious dark hand and the dark paper guys coming out of the paintings and walls, i was so scared and just run trough the hallways during this section and this bossfight is terryfying im surprised you didnt pick this
