I know I payed about 500 more for my ebike then alibaba--but when you goto the cart or get to buying and read the fine print--all sorts of things can change--from them putting on subpar parts to folks being promised a bike in 30 to 60 days and 6 or 8 months go by--to folks getting nothing--and also to issues at the port.I also do not think most of these companies are trying to be misleading--but many are building the bikes as they get ordered and if a supplier they use has a problem--or customs--or if goes by air instead of ship--these can cost time--effort and money--pus very little recourse if some part breaks--just the shipping alone can be the cost of a bad part.I want my next ebike to be a surron--but one i buy on alibaba express for about half the price and i build part of it--hopefully it gets better.

If you plan to ride mostly on mountainous terrain, get a mid-drive powered ebike.
If you plan to use it as a commuter in the city with less hills, get a hub powered ebike.
      Mid-drive: efficient on steep ride
      Hub-drive: easy on the plains

I was very councerned about buying an e bike from china one of the reasons being 20% TAX AND UP TO 90% IMPORT DUTY .in effect booting the the price up by 110%... so in the end I baught one hand built in the UK with the manifictureing address an hour away and i could order it on the telephone and speak to the person that was makeing it allso built to my spesifacation ending up costing a lot less that the chinese one and it was delivered in 3 days. so my advise is buy British from an English man you can trust . I dont understand why anyone would buy from CHINA and pay more ...
