Absolutely insane build!
Thanks my freind!
@@lpjmodels anytime :D
As a build I would say this is the best I have seen, in fifty years as a modeller
That's very kind David thankyou
Beautiful build. Can’t go wrong with Wingnut Wings! I especially liked the double paint job. Gives character to the plane. Fantastic!
Thankyou Peter 🙂
You can go very wrong with Wingnut Kits. Good build James.
Mate... This is truly insane. I'm actually speechless. I even showed my wife (who really doesn't like modelling at all) and even she was impressed. Truly a fantastic job!!
Thanks Tiptoe , high praise! Its always nice to reach the non modellers.
Incredible workmanship, truly museum quality
I'm amazed by your dedication to the smallest details, beautiful work! Cheers!
Thankyou Barnabás , glad you enjoyed it !
BEAUTIFUL FINISH...............WELL DONE..................
Unique colour scheme talked masterfully by one of the best YT model masters! Beautiful work on an amazingly engineered kit.
Andy that's very kind thankyou !
I genuinely enjoyed your build, especially the effect of the overpainted scheme turned out great. I built the late version of the kit and it's truly enjoyable!
Great build..breathing on the super glue works well
Thanks Lesgl
The woodgrain on that propeller is 😍
Simply stunning, James! It's a rarity to see WW1 aircraft, let alone a WNW kit, built on YT so I absolutely cherished every second of the build. The final result is true testament to your modelling and artistic skills and your perfection with details. All kudos to the patreon for donating this aircraft and to you for sharing the build with us viewers.....smashing job all round👏
Thankyou Robbo for the kind words, there are more WNW builds planned but because of their intensity I need to space them out 😆
This video has probably the best audio, video, and instructional clarity I have yet seen on RUclips. The resultant model is stunning. Great work, keep it up.
Thankyou John that's good to hear ! You never know you're doing it right until someone says
Exquisite. WNW can be unforgiving. You really did it proud. Just exquisite.
Thanks Kamil !
Stellar job James. The paint job is very eye catching and a refreshing change from the drab colors that us military modelers are used to working with. Cheers!
I agree Jon
Thanks Jon ! It was a nice change. I'm glad I had a decent yellow otherwise the process might have been painful.
Your patience and attention to detail is phenomenal, it is great to observe an artist at work, thank you for this.
Thanks Edward for watching, glad you like it !
The propeller was my favorite bit. That looked amazing...
We all have some things that we excel at, I would say that yours are your airbrush technique, and especially your wood grain. Another great build, thanks for the video!
Ron that's very kind thankyou. I put a lot of time into my airbrush work, many hours and hours of practice at the start and Iy was worth the effort. Woodgrain is going well but there are a few areas I could improve, like matching a ply pattern as opposed to more or less regular streaks. That's on my list to look at.
@@lpjmodels when I need to do a specific / matching pattern I tend to draw it with a pencil, carve it in with a knife or scribing tool, and then use an oil wash to create the contrast. I found I could never make just the paint brush do what I want...
Interesting job, it turned out well. I'd myself make my own turnbuckles and use the .012 fishing line with .05 brass tube.
Lovely job James 👍🏻😎
Thanks a lot Paul !
just fantastic
Great job James !
Thanks Eric 😀
Very, very nice James
Cheers Paul 🍻
Beautiful job. Lots of effort to do it right. Congrats.
your painting is quite lovely. in my opinion ww1 is where you really tend to shine. thanks for all the great content.
Thankyou Jordan ! I love ww1 but I also like branching out. My goal now is to level up my skills a bit more
An absolute master class on WW1 weathering. I will reference your techniques in this video often. Thanks for the video!
You're welcome Jeff, glad you like the vid
That sir is a outstanding build, and the paint job and finish was also outstanding, well done mate, best regards from a Kiwi living in Australia.
Thanks Les, it was a fun build
Outstanding, very inspiring!
Thankyou Mark !
This is such a beautiful build that anyone in this hobby would be proud of. Well done, exceptional work!!! Will be waiting for your next installment.
Thankyou Stacy , I hope you enjoy the next one as much
Beautiful work James. I have a Wingnut Wings kit in my stash that I want to build but it scares the crap out of me with all of the detail. You have done a fantastic job with this one.
Thanks Vic, they are easy to build, go for it, the rigging needs a bit of thinking and planning but nothing you can't handle 😀
She's a beauty!!
Thankyou Paul
SIR EXELLENT WORK! BRAVO!!.
Thanks a lot Nikolaos
Lovely build, propellor is a cracker.
Wonderful work!
Thankyou Jon !
Top rated build. Excellent. Beautiful model!!! Great job!!!
Beautiful detailed work your have done here along with some handy tips. Looking forward to your future content. Cheers 🇦🇺
Thanks Mr Oz ! Appreciate you coming along and checking the channel out
I stumbled upon your channel via this video. What an artful, excellent build!
Thanks my freind I hope you enjoyed some of the over videos
Great result. Good to see the new setup is working well. 🙂
Thanks Sera, it's a bit dark, hopefully sorting that soon . Hope alls well on your end !
@@lpjmodels all good here ta. I'll let you know when the next photo night is. Keep well, Sera.
Incredible looking model.
Thanks !
Great looking airplane, and well done.
Thanks Larry!
UV glue good for fixing wires, just pull against hook with blob of UV glue then fix with UV torch.Wheels stand out brilliantly with lozenge pattern, tempted to pull out the Roland CII.
I watched this channel grow so much in such a small amount of time. The increase of vid and audio quality makes me happy. Excellent build as always!
Thanks Nikko, I'm always looking for ways to improve, don't want to get complacent. And I'm really grateful for how my channel has grown ( and surprised)
She’s beautiful! Not my favourite paint scheme but, you really did some justice.
Thanks Mike !
impressive! WWI planes and tanks are the most fun to model!
They are great, the quirkiness and interesting engineering always makes a good model
I'm so sorry I couldn't make the premiere. This thing is absolutely beautiful! I can't get enough of that wood grain effect haha, must give that a go. Nice one james!
Edit: Also, forgot to mention, very nice camera work mate 👍 all came off in the end!
Thanks mate ! No dramas I can't expect everyone to sit through the ordeal at the same time. Thanks for the camera reccomendation. I need more light for video but the stills are 👌
Breathless.. Nice Halberstadt Modelcomrade.. Lots of work for the Model.. But the result is amazing🤣💪💪👍
It all worth the effort, 😊
Another stunning build, JC! 👏
Super talent and phenomenal attention to detail. 😯
Also featured my favourite quote so far:
"There's nothing worse than seeing obviously double stacked decals showing through your clear-coat..."
Amazing! 😁
Can't wait for what's next...
✌😎
Gotta keep the nerdy jargon going man. Thanks for the kind words 😀🤘
Very nice aircraft build nice model. Fantastic. I enjoyed this video on this aircraft.
Thanks Neil, glad you enjoyed the vid 😀
Beautiful work mate cheers 👌
Thankyou Tony
Splendid model build !
A superb video with plenty of skill, not only in bringing the kit together but your skill in painting and weathering an iconic model. May I say your choice in choosing Tron Legacy background music (or something sounding similar to it) was sublime. Thank you. Mike
Thanks Mike, Glad you like the music, it took a lot of trial and error to find something I liked that others didn't ming 😀
A very enjoyable built set, very educational and I found it enjoyable. I have some Wingnut Wings kits myself, but will not start on them until I have gained a little more experience. Like starting with some of the Roden, Special Hobby or Copper State Models set.
Honestly, aside from Copper State who's newer kits are amazing, they wnw are easier to build than roden and special hobby. If you take your time with the kit you'll be fine. This is my first completed biplane, all of the others I have done in the past have just fallen to bits when it came to putting on the upper wing.
@@lpjmodels Thank you for the answer. If I can build the Roden and Special Hobby sets to a result I'm happy with, then I'll probably take the chance with Wingnut Wings. Those kits are way too expensive in the used market, so it is advisable to me to get it right on the first try.
Simply amazing build! Gobsmacked...
Thanks Jason !
What a fantastic build. Well done! Your attention to detail makes you builds stand out. 👏
Thank you so much 😀
beautiful work mate! Its a shame that Wingnut Wings are not with us no longer, but least we have great works of art as this to enjoy still!
Thanks Shane, much appreciated. I wonder how many are stashed and not being built 🤔
Wood grain looks really nice.
Thanks John
1st of your videos I''ve seen and I must say a big WOW, thats stunning. So much detail. I'm too green to even attempt such a build but this is inspirational stuff.
Sub'd. Looking forward to going through your other builds.
Thankyou AAOMorpheus ! I'm glad you like the vid, I was a bit nervous starting this but it came out right in in end !
Great vid, really looking forward to building my Wingnut Wings kit!
Thanks mate, you'll do a great job with it
@@lpjmodels 👍😉
Great build! I appreciate a color scheme that avoids using lozenge decals. I've yet to figure those out and am skeptical that the decal colors will silver over time. Then there is also for me something wrong about covering so much surface area of a model with decals.
Oh WOW! Simply amazing build.
Cheers 🍻
AWESOME!🤗
I'm planning on getting this kit even though the cost has gone wild...
Thanks so much JC
Absolutely killer work man 100%
Fantastic build 👏👏
Absolutley incredible James!! The camo its... its amazing !!! I Yeah !!
Thanks Joaquim 😃
Amazing job! Paint, weathering, airbrush skills! Love it :)
Thanks my freind, I hope alls well with you !
*Amazing paint work and assembly, everything is perfect!!*
Thanks my friend!
Beautiful build, James! I really enjoyed your step-by-step build explanations. Ver helpful information for me to try on my future builds.
Thankyou Ken I'm glad you found it helpful 😊
Beautiful build and stunning paintjob! It’s one of your best work so far!
Thanks Tamás, I was a bit wary about the yellow but it came out alright in the end
With insignia, especially with those as simple as the two styles of iron crosses, you really should paint them on. Other than that. Great model. Well done. 👍👍
Thanks for sharing your work. 😉🤙
That's a good call mate and something I am not shy about doing ( my ki61 is 99% painted) I lost my access to a scanner and printer lately otherwise I would have scanned the decals and printed them off on light card, and used vinyl mask to cut the shapes. There is a big gap in the ww1 aircraft paint mask market
@@lpjmodels and “they” say tech makes life easier.
When it works. Right? I just hate on newer/modern aircraft, armor & other vehicles that I have to mix paint & decal because the fine text, or just go ahead and use only decals. I know I could go with dry transfer, but some are hard to find or I just don’t want to pay what they want. I guess that’s part of the fun of modeling though.
Keep up the great work. I always enjoy your videos. 😉
Is this even modeling? This is an artpiece!
Just amazing
The two shemes makes your build more then perfect. Its a shame that we can't buy any Wingnut Wings anymore. I wanted a Albatros DV and as the new Serie came out I was waiting till my birthday in March.
It Was the stupidest idea ever.
Now I have to watch the Internet to see this beautiful plane to build. 😭
Nice to see you back making videos
😳😳😳😳😳😳WOW!!! For details you don't know I'd contact Peter Jackson in New Zealand as they are making a bunch of WWl aircraft as original as possible especially the engines. Again WOW!
Thanks Donald, wingnut wings was his model company until they went squit
Awesome, great build and video. Miss those wingnut wing kits!
What a build James! This is looking soo good!! Congrats👍🏼
Thanks mate 😀
Outstanding
Love the effort you go to in your builds. =)
Stunning build as usual James, well done first class
Thanks Gaz 😀
Your woodgrain modification is incredible
As always a super build!!
Cheers mate
Beautiful work, James 👍
Thanks mate 😀
Another amazeballs build James. Well done!!
Thanks Den I hope alls well on your end 😊
Amazing work, as always tons of inspiration. Thank you!
Thanks HerrLogan17 much appreciated 🙏
LPJ, don't think I didn't notice you spray that bug at 24:18 lmao.
Amazing build, just a stunning example of craftsmanship.
-Derpy
Thanks Mr Derpy Sir ! The fly had enough chances. He pushed his luck 🙂
@@lpjmodels well I guess I'm not gonna mess with you. I dont want to have an angry British guy spraying my with an airbrush haha!
Amazing build
Next time you use super glue as a filer but a bit of talcom powered in it works really good
That's a good tip John thanks
what an epic build! 😱
Absolutely epic work building this amazing model!
You nailed this dude! Nicely done! I got a 2 layer scheme coming at some point on a Defiant! Hope it works out the way i think its going to !!! Lol
Thanks mate ! Best of luck on your defiant
Amazing work!
Man, i would cut off a pinky toe to get a WNW kit for less than a buck fifty at the moment. Such good kits, i really wish i had bought one before you know what ruined all of that, lol.
Very nice build !
Just caught up on this after being away for a few days. That's a great build and I think you made a superb job of the covered over previous colour scheme. These Wingnut models make for excellent details and build quality but, as you say, there is so much "but I know its there" detail. I am actually thinking of having the cockpit as a stand alone model on my next Wingnut build and scratch building enough detail for the cockpit in the aircraft model itself
great build
Beautiful build! I hope to be lucky enough to get my hands on one of these kits
Awesome
Beautiful work! Love your wood grains.. and well.. pretty much everything else. Also, Batman and Superman would like to know why you put Martha on the plane!! (bad joke..sorry)
Lol ! Thanks for the kind words
Looks lovely. Great job 😉
I've got a few of these to do ,but I think they may not turn out as good !. Only time will tell .
I'm sure they will my friend!
Una maravilla de trabajo
