Davie Fogarty created Australia's fastest-growing ecommerce brand, The Oodie, which sells wearable blankets and accessories. But success didn't happen overnight. After multiple failed businesses, at 24 years old, Davie had a chip on his shoulder to prove he could succeed. So in 2017, he started 2 ecommerce businesses, and they both took off immediately. In the past 4 years, Davie has grown his company of 5 major brands called the Davie Group to $400M in sales. In this episode, you'll learn exactly what it takes to build an incredible ecommerce brand in 2022 and some of the pitfalls to avoid.
Listen to Nathan and Davie discuss:
    Davie's early failed business attempts
The pros and cons of having something to prove
Why bootstrapped founders become a jack of all trades
What was special about The Oodie as a product and brand
How to create and test ecommerce products
    How competition affects your ads
    Why good marketing instills trust
Attribution tools and the changes in advertising
    And much more ecommerce advice…

At 60 years old and newly retired, my external retirement funds total around One million two hundred and fifty thousand dollars.. With no debt and minimal retirement fund allocation relative to my portfolio's value over the last three years, I recognize the importance of a financial advisor. Neglecting them isn't an option; however, thorough research is vital to find a trustworthy fiduciary advisor

Many people underestimate the importance of advisors until their emotions lead to financial setbacks. I recall a couple of summers ago, during my protracted divorce, when I needed a significant boost to keep my business afloat. I conducted research and found a highly qualified licensed advisor.

Retirees who struggle to meet their basic needs are the ones who could not accumulate enough money during their active years to meet their needs.
Retirement choices determine a lot of things. My parents both spent same number of years in the civil service, but my mom was investing through a wealth manager, and my dad through the 401k.

How did you choose a reliable financial advisor? How can you determine if they are trustworthy and competent?

Amazing video!! I remember all his videos about dropshipping as it is my favorite side hustle, and honestly his guides and videos were the best on YT about this topic. He even inspired me to start my dropshipping store from scratch last year. I just got products from winnerzila, made my store on Shopify, and now after eight months I have finally hit over $15k profit. I hope I can expand my business even more.

"How did you get your job?" might be the worst first question possible. It's a bit cringe. You even need to explain the question every time now because you've discovered that people have trouble answering it. Just change it up bro.

“CRINGE?” You’re telling me you feel compelled physically to recoil in disgust, at the sound of that question? To me, I would agree that the question is phrased in such a way that I don’t really readily understand, but I don’t at all feel strange about it.

Try to prompt for the date or period of the events if the guest doesn't mention it. It helps the viewer get a sense of the timeline as they describe their backstory.

There were so many good story bits but there was no inquiry or curiosity. It left me wondering if the interviewer is aware that he comes across as disengaged and not really interested in going deeper.

We believe Nathan is truly interested and engaged. Maybe he was just looking into his notes, or preparing the next set of questions.
