  • I had fun today ☺️
    I made up some training to help me improve my ability to run up hills 💪 and, in general, to improve my ability!
    And most importantly to enjoy ' playing' in the park!
    Anadi prefers filming more than this type of play!
    But then we went on to enjoy a lovely easy run around Hyde park..
    Run With Julia is an opportunity to talk about your own running journey with a lifetime runner and coach who understands the high and lows, the twists and turns of the running road…
    It is also an opportunity to learn about running from a pro
    I started competing when I was twelve years old. I loved finding what was possible…
    I ran fast times in the 1980’s
    5k 15.50
    5m 26.22
    10k 33.29
    10m 55.10
    1/2m 72.48
    Marathon 2.36.31
    In 1985 I had the wonderful experience of winning the Dublin City Marathon.
    I also competed in the 1986 Commonwealth Games, but had to retire during the race at 20m due to injury.
    The personal experience of the ups and downs has been growthful for me, and also given me a depth of awareness that helps me to coach others and help them return after disappointments and set backs…
    All these years later I am still loving competing and finding out what is possible….

    Great work on the hills Julia! I have the opposite problem and struggle to find anywhere flat 😅

      Hi Steve 😀I remember that when I lived in Bath! Except I could always run down to the canal or the river or the cycle path ! So thinking about - I had lots of options!! 😂

    It's fun to think where you can run to do different things. Luckily (?) I live halfway up a long steep hill! But going to check out our local rugby club over here 🇫🇷 to see if I can run on their grass pitch....or just sneak in.....as no suitable grassy areas (or Royal Parks 😂) in our little french town!

      Hello Jo 😀It is fun finding places to train! And different places with grass, or hills!! 🥰 I had all sorts of different places in Bath - often up at the uni, which is now covered in buildings where I used to run! 😀 Lets hope the rugby pitch works for you 😀
