I like korean so much👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
If you want learn more, why not join us Malaysia's family. Think you're adopting in new family.
Actually, the sitting on the pillow issue is more to them saying that it is rude to sit on something that you use for your head. If I'm not mistaken... 🤔😅
Actually for pillow, it's the thing that we put our head on if we put the logic. And also for Muslim we can't sleep on Maghrib prayer around 7-8 pm or we can get migraine, headache and so on, it's what I've heard from the elders.
@@animebllover9682 yes, that's true
Tattoo is not ban inMalaysia. It's only to Muslim people. Others can have tattoo. In Sarawak,a state in Malaysia, tattoo is part of some ethnics' culture.
yeah, I learned from the comments here :) thx ! :D
Malaysia even have tattoo festival.
@@Bipolar_Bear7774 really wtf
@@TF95F its true. In my state on sarawak borneo. Iban tribe famous with tatoo art.
Then there's the Inai, the temporary tattoo used during important ceremonies like weddings
1. Tattoos were prohibited in Malaysia because of religion. That is not a Malaysian thing, that was muslims which happens to be majority of Malaysian population.
But to say it was banned in malaysia, there are malaysians that have tattoo, there are tattoo artists, there are tattoo shops.
This is not a good point because even im a muslim, i dont like cultures from different ethnic and races to be denied just because they are not part of the majority.
Malaysia are malaysians including variety of race, ethnicity, religion and cultures. We have different values yet we have values that we share together that made us malaysian. Dont highlight values of certain groups and call it Malaysian, that would be denying and abandoning other Malaysians.
So that will not be a "Malaysian Culture"
2. Foreigners are not allowed to run restaurant bussineses is not true. There might be certain rule about foreigner to run a restaurant in Malaysia but it was never prohibited or banned. Foreigner CAN run a restaurant and ive been to several restaurants own by foreigners and to say It could ruin Malaysian food, thats nonsense. Malaysian like most asian country provide one of the best varieties of food because we welcome food around the globe. We can have indian origin food for breakfast, local food for lunch and korean food for dinner.
U cant ruin Malaysian food just by eating foreign food. The only way u can ruin a Malaysian food is u cook a local food wrongly and called it a "Malaysian food". That is how our food was "ruined"
3. Myth/superstition about sitting on a pillow, thats true but its not about how long u sit, its just that traditionally pillow way only used to place ur head as u sleep so it would be inapproriate to place ur butt on a place where u put ur head on. Yet i believe that is more of malay ethnic myth, not necessarily all malaysia experience that.
Thank you for exploring our beloved country Malaysia. Im sorry if i sounded like telling what u share about Malaysia was wrong, it was not wrong but not accurate enough so i just share some information to avoid misconception.
Dont worry about tattoo in Malaysia, it was not threatening. U can be at ease if u have tattoo n u can explore our cultural tattoo arts n local tattoo artist.
If u want to open a restaurant here, just do some research how to open one. Malaysian loves korean food.
3. Dont sit on a pillow, u might not be able to sit for days untill ur butt heals 🤣 * joking.
Again thank you for learning about our country. U r not wrong, just not accurate.
If u have a chance, come n visit Malaysia, we are multicultural nation. From variety of race, religion, ethnicity and culture, we shape the country called Malaysia.
It is not Malaysia if it is just about 1 culture without the other.
thx for long explanation buddy ! :D they are good points :DDD
Good explanation, though no 3 is more to Malay ethic, other race probably have another opinion. Most Malaysian are Malay, therefore are Muslim, there are more races which mostly not Muslim 😉
Such a great and neat explanation! ✨
Christians banned tatoo too. But catholic allows it tho i don't know why.
@@FlamerzZz all i can say is that they change the original scripter to something they want which is open to nowadays culture where as it suppose to be forbidden. tht is why religions scripter should not be like a story book that can be change how ever us want it to be.that is all i can say and that why is seem strange right. hope it not seem hateful and all. (^+^)(^u^)
Tattoo is prohibited in Islam because by tattooing your body, you change what Allah has created for you and Allah does not want us to do harm to ourselves. But then if you want to convert/revert to Islam, it is better not to erase the tattoo you have done before, because erasing it will be too painful. And Allah is the Most Merciful, the Forgiving.
thx for your comment 🙂
👏👏👍👍🙂
Yes, and so does plastic surgery...
Actually Malaysian's supersitition have some reason why they tell that supersitition to kids:
1. Like you told earlier don't sit on pillow
It's because we use pillow to place our head when we sleep. So it's kinda rude to sit on pillow since our head have a lot of knowledge.
2. Dont eat chicken neck or you neck will be like that when you're married.
Reason: since chicken neck have many bones, kids can choked if they eat it fastly.
3.don't sing when cooking or you will get married with old people
Reason: your saliva can goes into the food when you singing while cooking.
4.don't use umbrella inside your house,or snake will sneak into your house.
Reason: open an umbrella in the house? That's annoying and can distract people when walking around the house.
5. Don't lay down and lift your foot \\__° (something like this)or your parent will die.
Reason: it's rude to show your feet to others
6.don't be too mad or you will get old faster
Reason: you should be more patient and always forgive others. Yelling others will not change anything.
Actually there'se more but somehow my brain can't remember it. And sorry for my bad english😂😂😂
I always heard this rumors during primary school.. Now I know the reason 😅🤣
oh my ~ hahaha you know my friend? I made the video about this haha some of yours included my video haha thx for comment!
I think the number 6 might be true because when you're always mad, your wrinkles will increase then you'll look more older than others as time goes by. Betul x andaian aku ni?
@@nurr.a8797 Betul lah tu
For no. 5 its also because back then people usually wear "kain pelikat" for men and if you lift your foot, people can see your tralala. Same for women
If you cant cook no worries, come over to Malaysia and enjoy all the food here as there is soooo many to choose from. I bet you will become rounder in no time. That is good because it shows you enjoy the hospitality in our country.

I’ve never heard about the restaurant thing and I’m a Malaysian 😅
The pillow part is really accurate though. I heard that superstition a lot. It only tells you to not sit on the pillow as you put you head only on the pillow, not on the butt. And it is one of the etiquettes. (If that pillow is meant to be sit on, then it’s fine to sit on it)
yeah, it's true . it's kind of etiquettes :) thx for watching friend!:D
Nooo, I've been doing that (sitting on pilow) because my chair is flat and it hurt my butt when I sit for so long to do homework 😭 but I changed into kid's sofa that was use to learn how to sit (my brother's) a few days ago hehehhe

Even though you can’t open a restaurant in Malaysia but you still can cook in your own house. Malaysia is a multiracial country that consist of Malaysians ,Chinese and Indian so you don’t need to worry if you want to try other country food. Beside in Malaysia we also have japanese, korean, thailand, western food and more. Also if there’s korean muslim who want to go to Malaysia you don’t need to be worry because most food in Malaysia is halal. So if you really miss your country you can also try it in our country too.
informative comment :D thx for my friend!
@@dsbuddy-official your welcome
Having tattoos not prohibited for all Malaysians, only to the Muslims. And this actually applies to Muslims worldwide. There is no specific law governing on tattoo as far as known. Tattoos are very important to certain tribe especially in Borneo. It is part of their culture and identity.
For foreigners, other than restaurants, there are also other business that they are not allowed to own. But only certain areas apply this law such as KL. Can search internet for the details.
Pillow one is spot on. We have tonnes of other such believes in our community.
How bout Malaysian ghost types in next content? 👻 Or the weird laws in Malaysia.. might be fun.
woooow thx for your information like this. I'm touched 🥲🥲 thx ! and I love your ideas :D we will consider it haha 😄😄
the aboriginals were using real pure tattoos like a scar and because of hunting experience and I think it's beautiful unlike western millenial-yakuza tattoo, its hideous.
This is true. I am from Borneo and also in one of the tribes. The tattoos are very important especially to the men during their coming of age ceremony.
Other Malaysia superstition:
1) Don't bring umbrella inside your house, it'll bring snake inside
2) Don't play hide and seek at night time, you'll get hide by a ghost
3) If you whistle (at night), you'll called a snake inside your house
4) Don't eat too close to the door or you'll never found your love life. (Basically for women)
5) Don't eat and change places, you'll marrying a lot of people in the future.
6) Don't brush someone with a broom, they'll get bad luck
7) Don't write names with red pen, or you'll die
8) Don't play outside after 6pm or ghost will follow you home
9) Don't throw away your food that didn't finish (rice mostly), they'll find you in the afterlife/at night you'll hear them crying
Some of this are what my mother used to say to me when I was a kid. I don't believe in superstition, but I follow them because it's teaching me manners.
For number 2: isn't it supposed to be kidnapped/posessed by a ghost atleast that's what my mom used to tell me

There’s even a restaurant run by korean actress Chae Song Ah (채송아) in johor, Malaysia 😅
I just remembered, i used to work in subway restaurant owned by iranian.
So foreigners definitely can open a restaurant because subway originated from america, a western food and the franchisee of the place i work was iranian and i am just a part time worker along side w fulltime nepalis.
Where did u get that foreigners cannot run f&b business.
Because when i think again, i almost every town i use to live all of them have atleast more than 1 foreign restaurant.
Especially thai and indonesian cuisine. They are EVERYWHERE.
Indian and chinese restaurant is a must but since Malaysia consist of indians n chinese as well, i dont know if the owner was local or foreigner.
I try to search 2016 enactment but the link lead to full 2016 enactment so i cant afford the read one by one to find it.
What was actually mention about foreigners running a restaurant in 2016 enactment?
Maybe lost in translation. But they meant foreigners could not open a Malaysian food restaurants. It was a hot news back then in our country.
There's a lot of superstition in Malaysia.... and there's reason behind it too....
Malaysian do believe it's inappropriate to sit on pillow because it is a place where you put your head when you go to sleep....
In our country it's not common to sit on a pillow.... But if sit on pillow we usually called it as a cushion... ( like a thinner pillow)
Didn't know you have this fun side ahahha nice video btw 👍🏻
thx for watching friend!!😁
One need to differentiate between belief in religion and belief in culture.
The pillow thing is more to culture thing. Yes old people always say "dont sit on the pillow you'll get a blister" , it doesnt necessarily meant you'll get blister right after you sit on the pillow. It just the way on how old people say indirectly to show that, that habit (sit on the pillow*) is not good, bc the pillow is for you to put your head not your butt
*when i said pillow, pillow when you use for sleep not the one you used specifically for sitting on the floor/chair
Great video but we hope that your team can study first before giving out the content. Learn/search from internet is good but at least try find someone that well-informed about the topics that you going to deliver
Thx !! :D
We can't sit on pillow bcs it's kinda disrespectful, we use to sleep with it, not sit on it ... Unless u use a different pillow (Cushion)
that's really true :) it's for our head haha . thx for watching !
I am from a part of Malaysia where tattooing is not just permissible, but encouraged to celebrate the Dayak culture. I come from Sarawak in Malaysian Borneo (The East side) next to Sabah. Here, there are more non-Muslims, so Islamic law and culture is NOT always followed because we need to RESPECT the other non-Muslim majority that live here, like the Ibans, Bidayuhs, Penans, Kenyahs, etc., who at one time practiced tattooing. In fact, in my hometown Kuching, we had a tattooing convention and i was friends with the organizers back when i was a teenager, through my sister. So, tattoos may be prohibited in West Malaysia, due to Muslim domination; but not here in Borneo.
No worries. Just let the mamak cook for you . You will be in paradise of food. We also have traditional food that for years people make it. And if it have many customers then its delicious

This is what we call hadith, which narrates what the prophet Muhammad says 1400 years ago about tatoo
When I was a kid, I love to sit on pillow so much. Even though I was told off by everyone I still did it. Until one day, I really did get blisters on my butt. I never did it since then. So I am not sure if it was a superstition, because it really did happened to me 😅
Back then, local pillows were not made from sponge, cotton, or feathers. Majority was made from "kekabu" or the English word is "kapok (Ceiba pentandra)". Maybe that was causing the blister...

Superstition in Malaysia huh?
1. Don’t sing while you cook, or you will marry to an old person (usually for girls)
2. When you go to a place that has been abandoned for quite long (hotel rooms especially due to the pandemic), knock the door first and give salam. You never know if there ghosts in the room are feel disturbed by humans’ presence.
3. Don’t shower at the night or you will get pneumonia. (I think I heard this when I was little)
4. Get in quickly before the sun sets or devil will follow you until to your house.
5. Don’t go out to play on Friday evenung (?) (I can’t remember but it’s starts in my religious school bcs it is near to a cemetery/graveyard. Kids always thought that there are ghost roaming around)
6. Don’t draw the whole body full or at the Hereafter, the person in the drawing will find you. (Idk if this is a superstition but it is from my grandfather since I love to draw and post it on SNS)
There are plenty of them. But these are the ones that I remember.

The reason behind this is because,
1. You might not realize that your saliva will accidentally went into the food that you were cooking while you're singing
2. You might get tooo into the song that you sing, that it makes you distracted & burnt your food
But, hey, i doo sing a lot in the kitchen 🤭🤭

When you mentioned myth about pillows, i was already smiling because i knew what's coming. Until you talked about Korean's myth first. That's scary bruh i sleep with 3 pillows omg. In Malaysia we have both scary and funny type of myths.
Here are some of the myths from Malaysia:
Scary: if you go to a hotel and happen to have an extra bed, put all your luggage or bag on top of the bed or else 'something' will sleep on it.
Scary: at a hotel, always check your bed/mattress. Unfortunately this started after some years ago, a group of students found a corpse under their mattress at a hotel and this story scared the heck out of us, thus why we started to check everything at a hotel. Hotels are always a scary place for us because we're taking a shelter at a place we don't know about.
Funny: always close your mouth when yawning or flies will go into your mouth.
Funny: when you're eating, don't move seats or you're gonna marry multiple times (via polygamy or divorce)
Funny: if you sing in the kitchen, you'll marry someone old.
I think I heard different for the yawning part. My grandmother said if yawning too wide, a devil will possess you through mouth
Since when did foreigners not allowed to open food businesses in Malaysia? Never heard of it. As far as I know it's only in certain part of the country such as Kuala Lumpur 🤔

3:01 it's not true.
There are many foreigners can open restaurant in Malaysia. Me & my husband several time having dinner in foreigner restaurants in Malaysia.
You can't sit on pillow that purposely for bed time but pillow cushion for sitting purpose you can.
I'm a Malaysian and i've never heard of these ....lmao ..... 1) tattoo artist can be found everywhere here..... and only Muslims can't have tattoos..... 2) foreigners can have their own restaurants it's just they have to follow the legal route..........in fact, you can find foods from many countries some of these restaurant owners are locals and some are foreigners....... 3) abt the pillow ...... my mother told me sitting on pillow will give the person using the pillow nightmares ...... as for wounds or blisters on your butt you'll get it if you like walk over someone ... the same applies if you walk over someone's hands / legs ..... yk like normally when you walk and someone is sitting on the ground and their leg might be blocking your way .... you should ask them to move their leg to a different direction and not walk over it.............. HOPE THIS HELPS
i think about the restaurant is not true...you can run a restaurant here if you can get the license...and to get it you have to match the criteria which government has given...you have to follow government law and rules too...so its quite difficult for foreigner to get the license...thats why many foreigner married local and they can register the license with their spouse name which obviously a malaysian...
yep !! : ) thx !!
So there's a superstition saying if you whistle and click your fingers, you're calling bad luck/the devil. Especially at night.
The myth sitting on the pillow is not true.It just to scared others bcoz it's use to put your head.
that might be right buddy :) it's for our head haha thx for comment!
As a Chinese Malaysian I always sit on pillows tho like its just pillow?? its the same isn't it and for the tattoo thing I think we have lots of tattoo shops here so I think that's only for the muslims
Umm?The restaurant part is definitely wrong. Especially when we have so many Mamak restaurant run by Indian Muslim from India.
wow I see ! thx for correction buddy :D
@@dsbuddy-official we actually have alot of Korean restaurants in Malaysia run/owned by Koreans :)
Yea.. we do have japanese , korean n thai restaurants here.. it’s weird to hear that law u mentioned.. but if u talk about licence yes.. they need proper licence before set up a restaurant.. to admin are u used to be in Malaysia or just heard about this from certain people out there??
In Malaysia not only have muslim but have India, Chinese and Christian 😁
our grandgrandparent.. not allow us to sit on pillow, its just because we use pillow to sleep with our head ,,its just like not good and bad if you sit on it, something like that,, hehhe
Tattoo is not ban in malaysia... I think also there some other foreigner who has open restaurants in malaysia but they are not really popular.. and most of that worry about the halal food. Since it is a muslim majority citizen, so we need to make sure the restaurant is halal food. Even there are many korean style restaurant and convenient store in malaysia... But thank you for promoting Malaysia.. I hope you will enjoy when you come to our country. We have beautiful nature like beach, cave and a lot of food. Varieties of food that you can try.. 🤩🤩🤩
Nowadays, a lot of Malaysian friends let me know good information like this . thx !! :D
Malaysia is multicultural country which means we have more than one religion here.Muslims cant get tattoo but Indians and chinese can get tattoo here ,so it's not banned. Don't spread false info ,okay? Btw you guys did well❤️❤️Thank you for your effort ☺️.Lovesss from Malaysia💜.
thx you for your kind comments buddy ! :D
in malaysia if the crowd become silent without no reason, it means an angel is passing by the crowd 😂
hahah interesting !! angel~!😀
MALAIKAT LALU!!!!!🤣🤣
You cant put pillows under your butt because its supposed to be under your head. Head is a special place on our body, thats why its on the top. Meanwhile butt are considered to be "dirty" ( not literally but thats where poop comes from, you know what I mean..)
ok, the pillow one is one of the myths that my mum believes. Sometimes she warns me not to step on the pillow but i think its because pillows are for sleep. So you shouldn't make the pillow dirty because it's disrespectful and disgusting.
I'm malaysian and i didn't know about the restaurant. AHAHAHAHAHHA
hahaha many Malaysia friends taught me that it's not correct. so I learned new things :D
hahaha. funny for pillow parts. its actually the way parents prevent their children to sit on the pillow. They create the superstitious story thing. Bcs pillow is used for your head right, not your bottom. This belief then be used from generation to next. And some of them really belief in it.
idk where these guys get their info.... i as malaysian also duno such things.
1. tattoo is banned?? waht? yes in islam.... you could also say beer is banned due to religion.
2. not allowed to run restaurant? dafuq?
3. the pillow part. its not really a myth. it is possible. depends on the pillow(if its dusty/dirty, u will have a higher chance getting the blister).
Old people tell us not to sit on pillows or you'll get wounds on your butt is because pillows are used to lay your head on and you want to put your butt on something that you use to lay your head on? But I do it anyways, many times, nothing happened
One of superstition in Malaysia is you can't point a finger into the rainbow because your finger will break. But I don't believe it😅
oh yeah yah! I saw it as well last night !! hahah
for muslim religion law. its only apply for muslim only. for non muslim its ok as long u respect other
For the superstition part, it's because a pillow is where you put your head on so it's quite disturbing if you put your butt on the same place. Most superstition in Malaysia are like that. There's another one saying that if you trim your nail at night, a snake will come to your house. It was made because in the old time, people use knife or scissor to trim nail so it would be dangerous to do it at night because the only source of light they have is just gasoline light and oil lamp.
that's the manner right ?haha thx !
Im malay and hi guys 🇲🇾🇰🇷💜❤ i like BTS to
1:20 this is so disappointed lmao , im malaysian!!
Saya orang malaysia pun baru tahu😂😅
Hi my Malaysian friend :D
I never heard about the restaurant law 😅😂.... but its true we cant and dont seat on pillow.
Because pillow for our head, so we need to respect it.. a place for head.. thats why the they make that superstition. If that pillow is for we to seat not for our head, then its fine... hehe 😁
yep, that's the manner not sitting on pillow :)
