- This is Part 2 of our Costco Greenhouse build from Yardistry. We had a few screws missing and this caused a slight delay in the build. Yardistry was super helpful and sent out the missing pieces within a few days. We are still having trouble with the vent window and we still need to figure out what kind of flooring we want for the greenhouse but all and all it's mostly done!
Here is a link to the instructions if you are considering purchasing the greenhouse and want to look at them in advance: yardistrystruc...
I hope you will consider subscribing to my channel if you have not already. Thanks so much for watching!
Did i miss where you attached the greenhouse to the foundation? Curious what hardware you used
So we bought a yardistry greenhouse. appreciate your video!!
Enjoy your greenhouse!
It's looking great! We've had our yardistry greenhouse up for a few months and while there were issues with the build, we're so happy with the end results! Happy gardening!
Thank you! We are very happy with it, too. Happy Gardening!
Took us 2 days as well. Some parts did not fit square, ran out of window tape with 4 windows left to install, door was damaged during shipping. Yardistry sent more tape and door quickly. I ran an underground conduit into the front corner under the shelf for electric, and will install a spigot for water feed. Caulk as you go or it will be more difficult to do later. We built on a 4x4 treated lumber base on a packed gravel bed, drilled holes in the shed bottom sill, and attached with wood srews/washers. I will anchor the 4x4 frame with hooks and drive brackets through the gravel pad. Bought an LED light strip to mount on beam. Bought online and the 2 weeks later local Costco had it on sale :( We love the shed!
Can’t wait to build mine soon. Thank you for uploading❤.
Looks great, thanks for the tips on this build. Just got the Yardistry greenhouse kit myself. Looking forward to what you end up doing for the floor!
Thank you!
KYD fan here🙋🏻♀️ And just bought this greenhouse! 🙌🏼
Hello fellow KYDer! You are going to love the greenhouse!
We are putting ours together. Yesterday was a rainy day.
That’s exciting!
Love KYD.. great job with the greenhouse.. trying to decide if I want this model
Fellow KYDer! Thank you! It’s a nice little greenhouse that feels much more durable than the metal frame ones.
I think I'm missing part #1133. Who's has an extra 1133?
I got all warm and fuzzy when he looked at the camera, right at me.
How are you securing the greenhouse to the foundation?
This is our question too - did we miss that step?
Hi there! We have not yet secured it down😳. But we do plan to use L brackets and secure it to the base. We’ve had some major storms in our area with high winds and it’s held up very well. We also have it placed in an area that is protected from wind on 3 of the 4 sides so that helps!
Can you show how you went about doing that? I am prepping now for a build (same greenhouse) that is about to happen. I just wanted to be sure if there are any lessons learned I need to be aware of. @@larosablooms
Do you need to drill pilot holes?
Starting to build ours this week :) Did you attach the greenhouse to your wood base? I'm not seeing anyone show that step, but it seems like it would be a good idea. Looks great!
Not yet! We have plans to do that before spring. It’s placed in an area that does have a few wind barriers and it’s held up to some high winds but I definitely recommend securing it. We are going to use tornado straps.
Just built ours. It was a journey, but thankfully I’ve done a ton of construction, plus the Army which taught me how to think outside the box. I used pressure treated 4x4 posts sunk down two feet, and secured with concrete. I then cut the other 4x4 posts and I used lag screws to secure the cut 4x4 posts to the four corner posts that were secured with concrete. For the love of God, make sure the foundation is 100% level. If not, you will have a ton of issues.
Is there a Part 3? I was looking for the finished project -- especially how the floor was finished. The first two parts were helpful.
I'm working on that this week and should have it posted soon! Thank you so much for watching!
Hey! I just bought my greenhouse and we are struggling with the same step. The pop up window. Were you able to figure it out?
How did you attach the greenhouse to the base? Did I miss that in the first video or this one?
