  • Here is part 3 in the Costco Yardistry Greenhouse build series. I wanted to try something different and do a checkered look to mimic a MacKenzie Childs and Wonderland theme.
    We are using 12 x 12 gray smooth patio blocks for our flooring. Don't forget to prep your space if you are using pavers. You can check out how we leveled the area with a paver base and leveling sand in part 1 of this series.
    Check out Parts 1 & 2 here:
    Part 1: • Building the Yardistry...
    Part 2: • Things Were Missing ||...
    Cost breakdown:
    Pavers= $1.58 (there was a rebate) x 30 (we bought 35 but only ended up using 30) = $47.40
    White Rust-Oleum Spray Paint = $4.53 (on rebate) x 3 = $13.59
    Pea gravel I already had on hand.
    Total= $60.99

    It’s a really well designed and built greenhouse. Just finished my build and staining. Had to order a new ventilation mechanism, mine broke in the fridge…. Yardistry is awesome to work with, they sent a couple parts 2nd day air from Ontario Canada! Awesome service. Costco knows what to sell. Hard to get this greenhouse in a lot of bigger cities like mine but I persevered and asked managers when their next shipment was arriving and made a plan to be there. It’s a great buy!

      Yes, Yardistry was really easy to work with! I’m interested to know how it looks stained!

    Out of curiosity, why did you opt for spray painting them rather than buying two different colors of pavers? I only ask because your color contrast seems like it could've been replicated with pavers fairly well using 6:29 light gray and 6:40 dark tan pavers as opposed to a color that pavers don't come in.
    I'm planning to buy the same greenhouse in the next few months and I'm watching your videos as inspiration.

    I was thinking you missed out not grabbing that green, then I saw your final product. You picked the right color. Looks like it was made for that greenhouse.

      Thank you! It’s hard to tell until it all comes together. I bet the green and white would have looked good too!

      I just bought this greenhouse since it went on sale again. Started the foundation today. I'm hoping to have it fully built by the end of next weekend.

    I missed how you attached the greenhouse to the 4x6 base. Did you drill and screw the frame into base?
    Love the pavers. I had planned to use 2x2’ pavers, but those things weigh a tonne. Your 1x1’ pavers are perfect. Excellent plan to have pea gravel drainage!!

    Sorry if i missed it in the video, but have you done anything about the back wall vent now that we're headed into the colder part of the year? I'm anticipating a fair amount of heat loss since the slats can't be closed.

    How’s the white pavers holding up with dirt and shoe prints?

      No we skipped over that part but ours went on pretty easy. Having 2 people helps!

    I am in the same zone. Do you know what inside temps are in summer and winter? Looking to build as a chicken coop.

      Temperature gets HOT in the summer. The ventilation window helps. Expect it to be 20-30 degrees hotter than the outside temps during the day.

    Did you put any kind of screen in the event at the top to prevent bugs from coming in the greenhouse...? It doesn’t look possible from my point of you but my wife is interested. Thanks

      I did not but I could see that being beneficial. I did get some bugs fly in and something I might consider if it becomes a problem.

      Why not do the pavers before the building? Lot easier.

    Why didn't you put the pavers in when you built the frame, i think it would of been a lot easier at that time ? just saying
