It's good the R7 can shoot 15 fps mechanical, since the sensor has a poor readout speed (31.7 ms) with electronic shutter and produces intense rolling shutter. R8 doubles the readout speed (just electronic) same as the R6 Mk II I own, and both are the fastest non stacked sensors (14.5 ms) in the market.
Yes! Rolling shutter is definitely suppressed, it is still there though. The mechanical is going to be better but not always necessary. Overall, I have been impressed with both cameras. Thanks for the comment!

I haven’t tried R8, but love my R7. It is a great camera and excellent price tag for the value of the product you get. Amazing for wildlife and pet photography, but also great portrait and any other uses as well. Love it and enjoy using it very much.

Thats full frame vs cropped frame sensor, real world scenarios. For wedding, events, and selling your captured photos 90% you will need to use Full frame, clients prefered that all the time. Well if your just a hobbyist then thats no issue.

And sice even then I do not need the 40 fps I use it at 20 fps shooting jpegs (not much care for detailed aftercare when shooting hundreds of pics) it leaves me with 80 frames in a burst. I never run out of buffer.

R7 is far better for the price and has IBIS which r8 doesn’t. The full frame isn’t worth it on the r8. Rather go higher if you’re going to spend that money
IBIS is way overrated, the R8 paired with a lens with staib is actually better for not having IBIS, no wobbles in the corners is better IMO. The R8 digital staib is better than most of the Sony's with IBIS.

Sure! I haven’t used the R8 with a flash, so I don’t know if there would be a problem. It does have a First curtain electronic though.
