I found this video randomly on RUclips. As a fan of the Tron franchise, I would buy the $150 version at most.
I believe they are a collector's item, exclusive to those who like to have replicas of movie props.
It's a shame that Disney doesn't sponsor this project, if a 3rd Tron film were released, the creator of this idea would certainly have more sales.
I agree that Disney should either back this or produce high quality replicas like this for fans as well. Also Tron 3 is currently being filmed and is coming out next year!

I've been looking for this my entire life the cosplay opertunitys are endless alone. Tron legacy has probably the best vibe and costume design in any movie in my opinion. Also dafpunk killed the album. This is what I've been wanting since I was a kid. I went as far as to try and make my own out of the disny identity disc. Yes it works but it's old now and it was kinda not ment to be a lasting thing. However this is dope I'm going to be getting this when the time is right. When I do catch me on the grid how bout that.

Got mine this week. I think your review is spot on. The disc is good but the quality control should be better. I still haven't had any motor issues like you, but I also had one of the screws fall off when first removing one of the blades. Also, some black glue fell off the disc. Not sure how critical it is to the build. I guess we'll find out :)
Regarding the custom colors - I don't understand. The numbers that you shared are the numbers that I have on the disc. What am I missing here?
I wonder if he modified his colors to match my suggestions for the colors before it shipped.
@@terintamel seems like it. DId you get the remote control working? I was able to connect to the disc via wifi but I got into the remote control only once. The ip address that he posted in his RC RUclips video doesn't get me anywhere.
@@Mr.Grimble I can connect to the Wi-Fi but I haven't had much luck getting that Wi-Fi page to load consistently or properly. That would have been a bigger problem for me on the older disc but the new gen since I can connect it to a PC to change the settings. It's not as big a deal but is still disappointing.
@@terintamel Same here. Although it took several minutes for my PC to identify the disc, it eventually did and I was able to access everything. I hope that the remote controle issue will be fixed. He said that he'll share a tutorial soon.
I'm wondering where can I get more sound bits to test with the disc. It will be cool to add more custom colors and sounds for other movies.
@@Mr.Grimble probably the best place to find sound bits would be to check out sound font files that are made for lightsabers. There are tons of font makers for lightsabers making all different types, not just sounds from the Star wars movies. In fact, I think the Tron and disc sounds that are on this came from a lightsaber Tron sound font.
I rather the gen 1 activation sound but i love the gen2
Nice thing is is if you can find that activation sound you can upload it to the disk and replace the one that comes on it
@@terintamelthat's Even cooler, i Saw The colors on The Inner and outter blades and in your hands seems to be a little bit like blues or purple it was just an effect from the camera or something?
@@OrlandoPapafrita it could be that or it could be your monitor calibration and what you're viewing it on. But in person to me, the colors I have set look very accurate. Nice thing is if the colors in hand aren't what you want, you can easily change it.

Gen 2 is looks better but gen 1 has the right sound it makes.
How long on average does your disc take to charge? Mine has been plugged in for a few hours and hasn’t gone up in charge at all.
What amp is the charger? My guess is for two 18650 batteries at 1amp charge will take 4-8 hours if the batteries are near empty. This is based on how long to charge using an external charger at 1amp.
@@terintamel I’m using an Apple fast charger, I left it plugged in overnight (about 7 hours) and it still has not gone up in charge at all. 😞 not sure what to do
@@harrisona365 I don't think you can use a fast charger with this disc. Hopefully you didn't damage anything.

I want one but I'm still on the fence. How's the size compared to the old Spin Master discs?
I have this same disc as well as the old spinmaster one (which I modified for cosplay). The diameter of the disc is almost exactly the same as the spinmaster one, though this disc is significantly thicker and doesn't have as sharp of an edge for the blade
What's your thoughts on the build quality? I have the same metal one you have. Difference I noticed was that underneath one of your shells, i think the magnets have like 4 black blobs on them. Mine only have 2 blobs, guessing the others are glued down normally. When it comes to shipping and missed dead lines, I think that he makes them to order, not ready to ship. I think he might need help with a manufacturer to make them more consistent in qualoty and turn around times. I got mine pretty quickly. How does the clock time look? Also, do you keep the batteries in there all the time and does the USB C plug in charge them? I tried using protected lightsaber batteries as well, but they would not fit, so I had to order unprotected ones from that same website you mentioned. I believe they are 35A, compared to you 10A. Last two questions. Have you gotten the White Kevin Flynn shells and if yes, how are they? Do you have or know if there's a soundfond for Beck from Tron Uprising?
As mentioned in the video I did have an issue where one of the sping pins was bad and not making contact and I had to fix it. Something he should have caught before shipping IMHO. My Gen 1 disc had a single LED on the inner ring that would not do all the colors so I covered it in black tape. Design and build is good but he could do with better quality control.
I keep batteries in all the time and they do not seem to lose much charge if any when it is fully off. I have charged it with the USB C and it charges fine. Gen 1 disc by compairson would never fully charge and would completely drain 2 batteries in 24 hours even if left "off". So that is improved.
Yes unprotected batteries are the only ones that will fit. Must also be flat top batteries.
I have not ordered the alternative shell. There is no sound font for Beck. He did not make the disc fonts to my knowledge. I think they are copied from sound files from the Juan Sith Tron font for lightsabers. You could make a new folder on the disc for Beck and create the custom color you want then get a recording of a Beck audio clip. Actually I might try to do that to mine!

No it does not. Probably has to do with shipping in regards to lithium batteries, especially shipping internationally.
About how long did it take you to get your gen 2?
Around 3 to 4 months.
I ordered mine at the beginning of January 2024. I didn't hear anything for several months, so I contacted them again. My order might have gotten missed, because it shipped out from India about a week later and took about a week to arrive (mid-April).
@KuddlKat I placed my order back in December and it still hasn't shipped. Emailed him twice between then and now. How long did it take for him to get back to you?
@@CursedBrainJuice it was only a few days for the reply. Since this doesn't seem to be licensed through Disney, I was worried they might have gotten in trouble for selling them.
If anyone is willing to sell, let me know, I'll pay top dollar. I have no patience for this 🤣
I have my gen 1 disc that I show in the video. It has some downsides versus the Gen 2 disc, but I might be willing to part with it if you're interested.

@@SpotofNerd I'll try to give you a rundown when I have time, but for now you can watch my review of the gen 1 disc on my channel and compare it to the review of the gen 2 disc
Main differences are going to be. You cannot connect to the gen 1 to a PC to create custom colors and fonts. The swing sounds are different. However, I find the blade mechanism more robust and quicker on the gen 1 disc and for me the Wi-Fi while still flaky seem to work better for controlling and configuring the disc. The Wi-Fi is the only way you can control and configure the disc for the gen 1 where the Gen 2 you can connect it to a PC.

Neither do I, it's extremely expensive. Even though it has a technical construction behind it, the value is disproportionate even in the United States
@@victorhugopintosouza nooo see lightsabers are 2-3x more expensive than this and use the same technology, I can't believe it not because it's comparatively expensive but because it's comparatively cheap
