- Taylor appeared on The View to promote his new book. And while he was there he also gave us the debut TV performance of The Right Place, a song written by Bryan Adams for Ray Charles before his death - but given to Taylor by the Ray Charles estate last year.
Hands down - one of my very favorite Taylor performances - just a man a stool, his voice and a harp!! Serenaded by a piano.
Oh Taylor.....you took my breath away....you gorgeous man....where have you been ? I loved you on American Idol and I got all your cd's.....please come on tv again....I was smiling all through this !!!!! Youve'e got a book too... I must get that. Love you awesome man.
This is my all time favorite of the album. His album is put together wonderfully. The Deal, Hell of a Day and even now The Maze are my next in line. He is a genuine soul. Taylor- You move me man....

I love this song - one of his best tv appearances - but like so many say, you have to see him live to really appreciate him the most.
Very candid interview. Taylor is a good/bright speaker who really understands and treasures the world of soul music. It helped and inspired him as a youth and he carries on the tradition of its merits today. His passionate delivery of this Bryan Adams' penned tune is fantastic, makes you smile, and equals it perfect album recording. Taylor has a very comfortable manner when he performs and that is refreshing. He is definitely original, as Elizabeth alludes to. This track is one of my top favs.
I just can't stop watching this performance! He looked amazing as usual, and just sang it perfectly with all his soul! Loved it.
Taylor needs to record an entire album just like this - his voice needs to soar - he's a legend in the making and soon the whole world will know it.

Very candid and wholesome interview. Taylor is a really down-to-earth and charismatic star. He is refreshing because he really loves performing and the musical style that he does. Soul music inpsired him, helped him in his young life, and now is carried on through his work. This is a top favorite of mine off his album (which was enjoyable all the way through) and I find it interesting that Bryan Adams wrote it. Taylor has a voice that just leaps out with strength and conviction. Overall, nice 1!

Actually it was the writer, Jim Vallance, who sent this to him. It was originally intended for Ray....but he passed away.

Very good performance but have to agree with another poster .... performance by the original song writer, Bryan Adams is amazing. He wrote the song for Ray Charles. Bryan has that rasp in his voice that really does the song wonders .... brings lots of soul and passion. Song is very fitting for Ray ... you can really imagine how he would've sound ... just like Bryan sang it.

Song is written by Bryan Adams who originally wrote the song for Ray Charles. Ray never got to sing "The Right Place". Bryan sings the song on his Bare Bones acoustic tour which he is on now. I was fortunate to see the concert feburary 23rd in Davenpot, Iowa. Taylor hick is a good singer but no one can sing this song like Bryan Adams can.
