Great in-depth interview, Sam. There are a number of local analysts who do an excellent job in covering the Cub system, but for a national guy like Lindsey to have such knowledge at his recall is amazing. I can only imagine the hours it takes of watching games and films to get to his talent level.

I think Canario is a sleeper as well. He makes the lumber he swings look like a stick ball bat.
If he has holes in his swing it kind of makes me hopeful because it’s not an issue where he’s necessarily swinging it bad pitches like Baez, hopefully the Cubs have a talent and the coaching staff to bring him to an elite level. .285, 40 hr 120 rbi’s.
I would love to see him platoon with Happ this year. As well as with Morel at DH.
I enjoyed Lindsay‘s perspective as well as his comment about being over his skis about Mervis. Wonderful to see some humility in regards to predictions

This was such a great session, thank you! The future is bright, if they can make space at the right times for the youth, and make tough decisions (trades) as needed for major acquisitions.
We are at 2014 of Cubs, so let’s develop the young talents and buy next free agency and then go all in 2025
Bieber/ Naylor for Shaw / Alcantara no way. Shaw is a 3B and we have a need for 3b . Dont take away the piece you dont have.

That would be stupid you dont trade 5 top prospects for two major league players. Thats how you kill yournfarm system in the next couple years.
Owen is similar to Morel and better, so I would try to market Morel and trade him at his peak value.

I would, easily, trade any of these prospects besides Horton.
They’re all kids that are unlikely to be replacement level in the Majors. Cubs should be “win now” mode considering how terrible their division stands

IMO, Horton is the only untouchable but PCA would only be available in the most elite of deals.
If you told me Cleveland was willing to trade Ramirez and Clase in a package, PCA is on the table because the Cubs still have Alcantara not much further behind. If you told me it would cost PCA, Shaw, Morel, Wicks, and maybe one more lesser piece, I don't hesitate because you're getting 2 proven players for multiple years.
So we “can’t trade” a Lars Nootbar/ diet Michael Harris? Lmao.
