I saw Matt Shaw play against the Lake County Captains and OH. MY. GOD. He is incredible. Laced a triple off the wall in the first, hit a nuke a couple innings later, and made a great tag on a runner at second.

The Cubs are the Fort Knox of outfield prospects. Also, waiting on McGeary to get a little more love. Ross likes three catchers and Barnhart is on the way out, hoping to see McGeary slide into Amaya's role and Amaya fully take over Barnhart's slack.

So is Kevin Alcantara, similar to the reds new top prospect the left-handed hitting… Elly de la Cruz? That’s who reminds me of of course because of their long lens, and height plus athletic ability… I’m wondering if Kevin can get to that level or higher… And he threw in a few other surprising names like Shar and McGarey, never heard of these guys, and I really appreciate You giving us more information and Cubs prospects, I’m just wondering about pitching… Do they have any good left-handed pitchers that can come in from the bullpen may be another ride handler or starter? Because right now the Cubs can score runs, they can play decent defense but they sometimes blow it with their pitching and this three inning three pitcher Thing that Ross is doing, how long will that work? I mean I really want to see Drew Smyly pitch six or seven innings because he’s good enough… Either that or they get another legitimate starter since the other guy who has problems with consistency is Jameson Taillon… Anyway keep it up🙏👍🏼

Ehhh....Elly is faster and more explosive honestly. I see Alcantara as a worse version of Eloy Jiminez.
Jiminez was destroying the minors.....he didnt need to learn to elevate the ball.
Maybe more like a Jorge Soler

The K rate for Caissie is pretty inaccurate because of the drastic change when AA stopped using the pre-tacted balls. That K rate dropped below 30 when that happened. The overall numbers for PCA also greatly improved when this happened.

I like the depth of the analysis you offer. I disagree with you on Ohtani. Too much money.
In my view, Ohtani is an all or nothing signing. Cubs would be better off using Ohtani dollars on signing a quality free agent starter, 2 free agent bullpen arms and a hitter like Jorge Soler or Rhys Hoskins. Cubs have a history of
    burning thru prospects for
aging veterans. Let's hang on and develop the kids. Play Morel 1B, put Soler or Hoskins at DH. Saves payroll. Builds solid rotation.
