    This season guys has been a train wreck. I hate to say it but I really cant stand this particular team. I have a problem with every hitter we have. Amaya is bad all around. Busch fans way too much. Nico swings hard but the ball goes nowhere. Dansby - 177 mill and cant hit. Suzuki and Happ way too inconsistent. PCA fun to watch but just a wild swinger. Bellinger and Paredes - ????? U can win with them. Counsell has been very average as manager. White flag is waving for me. Think about this we had our Ace tonight vs a scratched fill in starter/ pen game. And Lost. Steele is starting to worry me. He has pitched in some big games lately and been bad.

    • @DionysusAlS
      @DionysusAlS 2 месяца назад +7

      Steele said he's been sick. He probably has too much pride to sit out until he's well. That's when the manager is supposed to step in, but Counsell seems like he's just an observer this season and is hands-off. It's strange. As for the game, game outcomes have no meaning the rest of the season. Just look at it as 2 months of exhibition games.

      Ehh Busch is a rookie and a pretty solid one at that so I wouldn't throw him on this list w/ the overpaid asshats who should actually be performing on the field

      @@troym2784 Well said, Steele needs to develop another go to pitch between now and next spring, I think the league has pretty much figured him out and it looks like the Central Division for sure has.

      Busch does strike out too much, but the whole team pretty much does. Happ strikes out quite a bit too, but it seems like he does it in critical situations and he’s always at the top of the order no matter how he’s hitting.

    Who's the coach in Milwaukee Pat Murphy. Brewers look the same if not better this year. He was the bench coach under Craig Counsell for 8 years. For the past 8 years in Milwaukee they get the best out of their players, also without the money to spend. The one difference really for the Cubs from last year( a fun, energetic team to watch) is our manager. Sorry to say, the Cubs are reflecting their manager, boring, no urgency, looks like a deer in headlights to me. I've seen this in business where an assistant manager is doing all the work and makes the manager look good. In my opinion Pat Murphy was the leader in Milwaukee, someone in Milwaukee knew that, because they made him manager and they look the same for the past 8 years. Cubs last year I told my kids I love the group of guy's the Cubs had, they hit and were fun to watch. What changed Craig Counsell.

    In my view, PCA has a lot more to learn in order to become a complete MLB player. This is understandable since he is a rookie. But I believe you should see the upside from a young player like Michael Busch who has had a herculean task of learning to be a first basemen in the MLB and learn to become a better MLB batter. I think he has by far surpassed what PCA was able to do so far this year. I am hoping for great things from both of these young men in 2025!

      The team needs better leaders with a different personality than
      -Happ coffee and golf and acts like he’s 55 years old.
      -Dansby NOT worth 7yrs 177million
      That’s 45m
      And Belli at 27mil/year for 3 years.
      Is too laid back. Which is fine IF!!!!…they’re all fine if you have an Anthony Rizzo, or hahemmm, Rossy that tells Morel, Busch, Amaya to RESPECT 90!
      Nico and PCA have, “IT” but PCA needs some
      More AAA at-bats… maybe just enough for 2/3 weeks. Leading off-,batting 1st, 2nd, or hitting 9th.
      Give Dansby some
      protection. And QUIT giving up on people that do what you want them to do. Hunter Bigge, Ty Johnson, pinango, Rivera-who shouldve be sent back to South Bend and taught to quit stepping in a bucket like he is afraid of the pitch! And learn how to play every position! 3rd 2nd 1st LF RF. But it’s too late. Bigge or Pearson? Looks like Bigge is about to be better RIGHT NOW!! But Jed, Carter, and Counsell make Zero good decisions. Maybe getting Paredesis good.
      But we gave up 5 players+Leiter and Morel for Paredes and Pearson, and Neely. And the guy with a broke hand. And Nico has the best heart-like Grit, like pCA… but Nico’s swing looks like he’s blocking the ball. Not hitting the ball. Dustin Kelly did a good job with Belli last year. And I do believe they added Mallee.?!!?? They never hit when he’s staffed. Which is every 3/4 years it seems. Wrigley may be a problem. Have a short porch with wind blowing in. Base hits. Batting avg does matter at Wrigley! Unless Grace and Sandberg come back in Prime there needs to be some changes. Let Luis Vazquez come spell Nico and Dansby.
      They have to tired.
      Like last year. Use your depth!! You preach about depth depth depth depth depth depth depth
      And then you ignore it and acquire new guys. And leave that all
      Important with at AAA!!!😡😡
      Why acquire Tinoco for him to come here and pitch better than almost every pitcher from your pen(albeit 4 innings), and just give him up. Hell bet them big leaguer after a year of sub 3.35 E.R.A. Word vomit! Apologies!!
      Email me! I can help this organization. Quality control. I’m serious. Very. Laugh it up! But I know.

Something has to wake them up to realize in the short-term, he's gonna have to flirt with the luxury tax to fix the team. He has a cable network which needs riveting content, appeal for ads, and he's living off "the brand" Cubs, that was built by WGN on the superstation fron 1978-2014 and assuming "member berries" from that 1984-1989, 1998-2003, 2007-2008, & 2015-2020 periods are enough to satiate the masses to hold on. Parades over Morel is a lot more than a marginal upgrade lol he plays a position we desperately needed he is 25 years old coming off back to back all-star games and a middle of the order bat. Morel will never make an all star game. Fixing the bullpen will solve 75% of the problems. 18 blown saves, good teams have maybe 4 or 5.

      I think they care. In less than 3 years after starting a major rebuild/starting from scratch, they've developed a top farm system. Unlike everyone else I don't expect winning during a rebuild and I can be patient since I'm not an all-Chicago sports fan, I have good NFL and NBA teams with winning windows right now. I think that's a problem for a lot of Cubs fans...a lot are fans of other Chicago teams too understandably, and they just have nowhere to turn for winning teams, so the Cubs are just failing completely in their minds, Idk.

    @joecasey1329 2 месяца назад

    Everyone here screams that Jed/Ricketts need to spend. They spent. Where’s the reward? I saw very few posters opposed to resigning Cody Bellinger. How has that gone? You had to have one of the 4 SS available last year. How has that gone? Ohtani? Was never signing anywhere but where he did. Matt Chapman? Not having a great year. Jordan Montgomery? Not so hot. Nearly EVERYONE here insisted he was what we needed. How’s he doing?
    The Cubs need better talent evaluation in the draft/farm system. It’s deep with guys who have roles to play on a good team but no stars who can carry a team and be counted on in clutch situations.
    Spending isn’t always the answer.

    That's the point Sam.......the Cubs are a last place team and you didn't see it coming. Guess what? NO ONE saw it coming. I heard nothing but mid 80's to a possible 90 win team, if everything went right. Well, not much went right. How is getting a good defender to play 3rd, who is a more consistant hitter than Morel....a small thing, when you complained about it all season? Next, the spending limit was FOR THIS YEAR. They weren't going into the luxry tax in a year where one more guy isn't going to put them over the top and there was ZERO percent chance of getting "one of those players" at this deadline.. They, CLEARLY, stated that they will breach that first tax line, when the time is right.........not never. The trade deadline has passed. Nothing can be done, until after the World Series. How about kicking back and just enjoying some baseball? Find that space between being a rah rah guy and seeing doom and gloom in everything. I push back because I like your show and both your passions. I actually listen to what you're saying. While I might not agree with all of it, I see where you're coming from.

    Believe it or not, as bad as the White Sox have been this year, the 1899 Cleveland Spiders are worse. They finished their season with a record of 20-134.

    If anyone had the stats PCA does they’d have their ass in AAA. Gotta be a lot of guys in the minors shaking their heads over his preferential treatment. Bad for morale & development. I’m glad Morel is gone, they lost all their principles trying to make it work & they are doing the same with PCA. A serious team sends him back down a month ago & gives someone else a chance.

    We were doing well with the beginning of the season until almost everyone got hurt. Adzolay, Neris, and almost every pitcher had injuries. The lack of RISP has been crushing.

    They are literally and figuratively stuck in no man's land, in average city, in baseball purgatory! Look at their team! How are they going to replace any of the following players? Happ, Belli, Suzuki, Dansby, Nico, Busch and now an overrated in my opinion Paredes! They're doomed! "Smart spending" has them the highest payroll in the division and last place to show for it! Keep preaching that smart spending b.s.!

    First Hoyer should be fired! Second no teams were interested in the garbage we have like Happ, Suzuki, both Catchers, Steele, Assad, most of the bullpen, Neris especially and were stuck with Swanson Hoyers a fool to have given him a 7 year contract Heyward ring a Bell. This Cubs Team will never come close to a World Series game and if Rickets was serious about building a winning Team he'd get on it and fire five year waste Hoyer! $HIT OR GET OFF THE POT Rickets!!!

    the cubs have the players to be a good team. however, those players cannot impact the game if they don't swing the bats. they take strike one first pitch, down 0-1. then they take strike 3. that pitch is on the black or one inch above the box or one inch too low. it is too close to take as umpires love to punch you out emphatically. instead the cubs start unbuckling their shin guards as if it is ball 4. every time they strike out. we see when they swing the bats oh look they score 13 runs. it's not hard. swing at the first pitch and ambush it. do NOT take strike 3. a ball in play gives you a chance. even a swing and miss is better than standing there like a moron whining about a pitch that was half an inch too low. come on girls, swing the bats. yes, Busch strikes out looking all the time, so does Suzuki and so does Wisdom.
