'Budget' Reate has my attention. I also hope we see more along the lines of that first knife.
Got a new Exo M about 2 weeks ago and it came with the utility blade holder. I was pretty darn pumped on that. It's a fantastic knife and carries well, so much fun to flick around too.
If you got it from blade hq they were running a promo where you would get the insert for free with an exo m order. I tried to just buy the insert bc I already have 3 exo m’s but the site wouldn’t let me. Hoping I can just buy the insert at some point. Still going to get the exo u when they become available.

I'm not one to discard smaller, not as well known, knife companies trying to get their start. More times than not I believe some of the smaller companies are putting out quality stuff to get their hat in the knife ring and place their stake in the knife industry. Companies usually don't start putting out junk until they've been in business for 50 years. 😂 Just kidding, just a little side humor. 🤣🙄😎👍
That's not a joke though. There are alot of good knives from smaller companies that aren't several hundreds of dollars
At the 10:18 mark, that Midgard Messer Boss was just one crazy big knife.
I really laughed out loud when you laid them all out at the end , the Midgards just preposterously big
The Exo U is definitely a really cool knife. Awesome idea and not quite a quick release, so it seems stronger, and I had to pick it up and try it myself. They did an awesome job and is way too addicting to fidget with aha. But also heaps convenient for edc to deploy and put away so easily.
I bought the Reate from Cranes last week, it's been in my pocket for the last three days, and I love it.
I think you should do the best utility knifes

Have you seen the Craighill Sidewinder? Not sure it reeks of quality but, the opening and closing and the way the handle meshes together - like some offset butterfly

Reaaally like that Max ace II. Just bought a higher end QSP recently so not got many bills in the knife budget for it, but its def more in my price range. And hol up, that combo blade does have a lot of cool factor lol but for someone like me that likes a slicer and a good stabber I feel like it could def do both well. Sick! Thanks!
Not a big fan of the pivot lock. Had a SOG with a pivot lock. It failed on me at the worst possible time. It really did a number on my hand. 60 ft up on the inside of a spiral. By the time I climb down it looks like a murder scene. Not only did I hurt myself I got my ass chewed out as well. Had to shut the job down and bring in sanitation. I was sent home back to Pa. Where it was winter time. Being on the road for 2 months I'm coming from Vegas. I froze my ass off and ended up getting sick and catching covid. So I'm a little hesitant the trust a pivot lock again.lol That's my kind of luck though. But I do like the utility gravity knife. I'm going to pick one of those up. What could go wrong? Love the show always looking forward to the next one.

Although id imagine it cost about what I make in a week which if so I'll never hold it, talk to it, or see myself in the blade which is highly depressing😢 but ima find out cause my klarna spending power is LEGIT RN and burning a hole in my screen so maybe just maybe i will own top 5 1 of the sexiest pieces of metal i've ever seen! Just so everyone knows as well tough built makes carbide utility blades now as well so they’re decent for edge retention making the exo u perfect for a premium beater

@@nachoisme For pocket carry I use the Toughbuilt subcompact utility knife, but I think its hard to beat a fastback especially if it has the screwdriver. if I'm not concerned about bulkiness I'll use the Toughbuilt electricians utility knife. It is basically a heavier duty fast back with a couple extra features, plus the screwdriver flips out fastback style.
Electrician too I use Nedfoss fa48 get lots of comments on how sharp I keep it

Does anyone here know if the exo U is also illegal in california or is it somehow allowed because its a utility blade?
I’m trying to buy an exo u as soon as I saw it, a gravity is one knife I haven’t messed with except a paragon warlock.. kinda gravity horizontally I guess lol I did love that knife but I felt like I was about to cut my palm 😆

A potential advantage to the Reate is that (if necessary) your lawyer/public defender can claim the Reate is a tool not a weapon. Another? The cops won't be stealing your $200 Benchmade.

Has anyone found a blade that works in the Reate. Every one I have tried causes it to hang. I have yet to try a blade with a coating like the one that comes with it.

I wouldn't be opposed to buying an oversized folding knife if it had the aesthetic of a more traditional pocket knife. Just my preference but I don't care for the tanto look or the compound grinds and stuff like that.
Carry a fixed-blade Buck. Less likely to trigger the cops.

My Reate Exo-K is so much fun to fidget with but the tip is super weak. Its chipped. Doesnt really matter bc its not like it's a knife thats really MADE to be used but still.
That's completely incorrect. It is absolutely made to be used. The tip can break off of any knife. I think the statement should be altered to "the tip of the blade shouldn't be abused"
