I'll be honest here, I ended up opening my 5.2 because i'm curious about how airsoft guns look inside, and somehow ended up messing it to a point i didn't know what to do. got it back to being fully together with everything working, except the hammer would not stay put anywhere, and no matter what i looked at, i could not understand what i had done wrong. Thank god i actually looked up for it and found this video, that will save be a bit of money on such a simple repair

It didn't work at all. Then I tried to fix it and it went full auto.

oh my gosh thank you Soo much mine had done this because I had dropped it and I took it to somebody and the didn't fix it apparently and charged me $30 and it was full auto so I fixed it from this video! great work!

I had the full auto problem on a single stack 1911, I bent the leaf spring and it worked.

I tried cleaning the disconnector and the internals and moved the prong a little bit downwards but its still giving me the double trigger thing. Anything else I can try?
yea not much else i can suggest, i think i suggest it in the video, try working with a working gun and switch out the lower vs upper and work your way from there eliminating one part at a time

Will this also solve the issue of my grip safety not working? I can still pull the trigger when my hammer decides to stay down(it typically doesn't) even if I don't grip the safety grip. All my parts are quality made UAC leafspring, Airsoft masterpiece steel hammer and internal hammer parts, as well as gun smithbros grip safety. My guess is that I somehow bent the spring. If not are there any other causes for this?

I do not want to be responsible for anything being ruined, with that being said I'm not going to comment on how to get that setting again sorry! But you should already know that to replicate that again, you would need to bend it back into that same shape you did originally. Just be warned messing with the leaf spring can lead to many many problems
Sometimes my gun doesn't fire the BB but the gas is expelled, it's brand new. Any ideas?

Hey, I have the KJW KP05, and im having a burst problem on my pistol, when theres no gas, and i do the test you did at the end of the video, the hammer resets perfectly and doesnt fire until i let the trigger reset, however, when i put gas into my gun, it will sometimes fall into 2 shot burst. Do you know what could be causing this?
I also noticed, this is only what happens when the magazine is in the gun. When theres no mag, i can do the test fine, when theres a mag, when the slide goes forward, so does the hammer.
***** I think there may be a problem with the beaver tail safety, it wont go fully into my gun, however, when its popped out, the gun can do the test fine, and when i push the safety in, the hammer flies freely.
***** hard to diagnose this over the internet, i would see if you can find a local tech to help you out, from what you've typed to me it sounds like it works 100% without the grip saftey? if thats the case then see if theres anything in the grip safety or debris etc or damage but thats pretty rare
KnucklesGSM I noticed that theres a space between the safety, and the bottom part, which allows the safety to fly freely. I made the mistake of over tightening the screws, so now i cant bring the two parts together. I think this is the problem. Do you know if i can buy new screws, or if its the threads in the guns that are messed up? If so, what can i do? BTW: Im talking about the two screws on the top parts of the grip that connect into the frame.
Clarification: If you get my problem, what or where can i get replacements for the screws/frame.

Just for funs sake, could I turn my hi capa to a full outo by buying a second Leaf Spring and bending it like so? Or would that damage the gun in any way?
I recommend against it, wouldn't bother and its not safe at all
I installed a new trigger and got the "double trigger" problem. I seem to have a really severe case of it to where I had to bend the right sear about 50 degrees forward for the problem to be fixed. However this makes it so the trigger is CRAZY stiff and nearly impossible to pull. Any possible way to fix the trigger issue while also maintaining a light pull. Maybe a new trigger ring idk what are your thoughts??
probably bent the trigger bar, thats the most common mistake i see for beginners. see if you can get a new one or compare it to a friends that is working and see where its bent

any video will do for taking apart the tm 5.1, even we hicapas are the same basically in break down.
Go a WE 1911 which ometimes randomly empties the full gas mag, doesn't hapen all the time. Tried different mags so the problem is with a trigger mechanism. Has anyone experience anything similar? Could it be due to an issue with a disconnector spring part or something else?

i would probably check online retailers overseas in Hong Kong/Taiwan areas as I think they would have the replacement parts

I thought there is something wrong when my hicapa's back trigger wont lock back and it's brand new no less. I tried to open the grip just like you did and found nothing wrong. I put it back and surprisingly the back trigger somehow can lock back again and can shoot normally again. Thanks for the guide.

I have a norvitch SSP5 that is doing this. During game play just started shooting automatic.
My trigger resets and everything but its still light striking and shooting full auto bursts sometimes

May you help me explain what did I manage to do to my IPSC 'Capa a few years ago.
It was built up, lubed, short stroked and upgraded, all parts working great. But somehow, by bending the leaf springs I managed to get it to shoot both Semi and full auto. When I pulled the trigger fast all the way, it was a single Semi-shot. Once I pulled the trigger gently it unleashed hell and fury in full auto mode.
Not that It doesn't work like it should, but how could I do this again, since I liked it?

Not exactly the same problem. My hammer kept getting stuck on the slide every 5-10 times. But thanks for showing the spring placement because my central spring arm was in the wrong spot. It is fixed now. Thanks so much.
I am having the full auto issue. I ensured the lead spring was on top of the sear and put the capa back together. The hammer will lock back fine for 2-3 times and then go back to not locking back and shooting full auto. What can I do???

I have a kjw hi capa and when I load with gas and bbs it will blowback sometimes but all the time sometimes it will make a dud sound. Do you know why it won't shoot

Thanks for a very well put together vid. Had a KJW 1911 that was auto firing. When I looked at the sear spring it appeared to be positioned properly, gave the middle prong a very slight bend down and DONE. Working perfectly. I have a very happy 14 yr old.

If i shoot once,then i need to pull the trigger for many times in order to shoot again.(probably the trigger reset problem). I have tried the solution given by the video but it doesn't work for me. What should i do to fix the reset problem ? ( i can feel that the trigger didn't reset)
test to see if the trigger by itself drops into the grip in and out, make sure its not getting snagged on the grip at all where it sits
if a new sear is installed but the same issue is happening what else could it be?

Okay so I keep having the same problem every time I change a trigger or leaf spring or anything related. Even when attempting to return the gun to stock, I still have the problem. Similar to the double trigger issue. I tried your tips and they did not work, so I'm guessing it's something else. I can get everything to work, but once I put the slide on and pull it back to put I'm the catch, the hammer locks back and won't release from pulling the trigger. I have to pull the hammer back a few times and pull the trigger and it will eventually release (and my grip safety isn't necessarily working). I also watched LaZouches video and he did the same thing you did. Is it my leaf spring? Is it my sear or disconnector? Also even with the slide catch in and racking the slide, the hammer locks back and won't release via trigger pull until I pull it back a few times while simultaneously pulling the trigger. My Hi Capas are out of commission right now because I can't solve this problem. Please help!
Jacob Kerlin See if you can get ahold of another leaf spring, put it in, if it works, then you've messed around too much with the leaf spring and need to bend it back
KnucklesGSM I have three of them and I've tried them every which way : / nothing seems to work. I have one more idea I'm going to try, but I'm also going to have another pair of eyes take a look at it to see if I missed something. I'm going to try adding a tiny piece between the disconnector and leaf and see if it boosts it up enough to keep it in place. The disconnector tab on top where it meets the blowback housing drops down upon cocking the hammer (only with the slide on) when it should not move at all. If my hypothesis is correct, my idea should fix the problem.... hopefully.....

Same thing is happening to mine now, hope you remember from 4 years ago because this issue is preventing me from taking it to the field, i havent bent my leafspring at all, might try to treat my hicapa for the double trigger, but if i cant figure it out i’ll have to take it to a tech that wants 40$ an hour
I have this exact same issue... installed it as instructed here but my full auto 4.3 Extreme now has in inoperable flip safety and a trigger which delays firing (I depress the trigger and the hammer falls about 2-3 seconds later). What gives? I've installed everything as instructed in Knuckles video here.
