- This video is designed to briefly explain, the basic actions in restoration of flash drive on Phison controllers, with a program Phison MPALL .
Although we will only consider the example of the chip PS2251-50, but this instruction fully or partially applicable to other models.
HOW TO CHOOSE THE RIGHT FILES OF PROGRAMS?
The selection is carried out in two stages: first we look for the burner, then for the firmware.
By controller model:
The third and fourth characters in their names indicate the chip model:
- BN50 - burner for the controller PS2251-50
- FW68 - firmware for PS2251-68
By memory type:
BURNER:
- 2K and 4K memory - the binary must end with ... 2K.BIN or 2KM.BIN , for example BN67V1022KM.BIN
- 8K and 16K memory - ... M.BIN or it may not contain the letter M at the end, but simply end with a version, for example BN67V132M.BIN or BN67V101.BIN
FIRMWARE:
- 8K and 16K - ... 10M.BIN , for example FW60FF01V10510M_20110616.BIN
- 2K and 4K Page - ... 24M.BIN , for example FW50FF01V30724M.BIN
- TLC - ... 50M.BIN , for example FW61FF01V30150M.BIN
- eD3 - ... 53M.BIN , for example FW60FF01V10453M.BIN

Please help me. My USB dongle brand is Kingston 8GB with PS2251-50-F controller and LGA NAND chip hynix H27UCG8T2MYR. This wasn't appearing in my computer but detected in device manager and disk management. A constant led was lighting on it when plugged in. I tried to restore its firmware with the utility you used in your video but device did not come back at all except an error 10 in device manager with a yellow triangle mark.
Would you please guide me how can I enable its test mode on?. So that I can flash its firmware according to your instructions given in this video?
Just to let you know, its been solved. Shorted 29 and 30 pin to put test mode on and flashed new firmware successfully😎. You are the HERO🤠

Lexar web site claims US gov't prevents them from releasing their firmware for restoring their flash drives. Will Phison firmware make for a good substitute? Can the firmware from an identical USB be copied and transferred. Amazing if it could be.

Hey thx for the video. Could you explain what does it mean to short pins? (Non english speaker) I still getting the Mode 255 ID Error 0001 so I assume there's an issue with the test mode part. The pilot light turns on when I connect it though.

Greetings, My flash drive is not detecting by the windows I tried to make it work through connecting it to mobiles phones but it didnt work.
I even tried Restore_v3.26.0.0 it retored and now thigs got worse its, before doing it it was showing in Device Manager of windows now some times its says windows didnot recognized the device or some time it show some strange name.
i tried to use Mpall V 5 was able to detect the complete info and when I run start it says checksum error.

@@chipfix5898 after using UP19BE_CTool_v4.23_0905 tool, it now shows the usb without going into Test Mode, but now it shows 249MB total capacity instead of 7.21GB
i can see the usb in diskmgmt.msc, devmgmt.msc and my computer too, but capacity is wrong

Crap. This totally destroyed the drive. Initially the PC could see and recognise the flash drive and assign it a letter, after restore it cannot see it at all and I am buggered if I am going to open it and play about with the electronics.
