So, this is only head/motor problem? And the data on the disk can be recovered by professional right? I have problem like this. And I know opening hardisk will ruining it. I just leave it and find answer on internet before I go to professional data recover.

Lexar web site claims US gov't prevents them from releasing their firmware for restoring their flash drives. Will Phison firmware make for a good substitute? Can the firmware from an identical USB be copied and transferred. Amazing if it could be.

Crap. This totally destroyed the drive. Initially the PC could see and recognise the flash drive and assign it a letter, after restore it cannot see it at all and I am buggered if I am going to open it and play about with the electronics. Crap tutorial with no warning that it can kill he drive

Mine problem was the same but I shut down my pc and opened it next day then it worked again :) I think my Hdd temp was hot so it shut itself down automatically......

Why You did open cover HDD Don't Do this because dangerours your place has dusty. please do other place if no dusty. home has? go outside and cover and look like HDD white there are you have white cloth find white take and power ON and head dont touch in hand but white like cleaner dont other just HDD's white cleaner there are you. go Head touching with white cleaner head clean for full for white cleaner but dont touch. and after 1 min done cleaned and unplug and look like no dusty. then cover back and full original and go home then power on, data cable and that working or no? then replace new hdd

same here i was 2020 august was windows 10 super fast then Ssd. and all is okay and then power cut welp and wait 3 hour later then back ON and I power on laptop. but battery died.. well. and it's windows 10 booting very very slowest it's been 4 minute and welcome... at 7 minute and it's ready but look like icon is missing.. wait... and working icon then i show Taskmgr. so HDD 100% at Idle. wait 10 minute now 0% when i open google chrome back to 100% usage. all day. So i copied to youtube how to fix slowest hdd. and i tried Open hdd look like clear and mirror is very good but i dont know why well back and i didin't touch mirror or hdd read/write at all!!! and i back to straw and i tried power on so windows 10 booting without loading sooo and power off i tried disconnect then reconnect and but it's died no boot, motherboard working said "No detected Hard disk". and i tried again open and Power ON like same as you video reading... reset read.... reset read... same here reading/noread/reading... 10 times then stop. so i tried connector like Sata/Power, SATA cleaned with eraser and power i used Tooth paste no water. and then power on still. This Hard disk at Samsung 320GB is super fast. this original laptop Samsung R530. So i have ssd 2007 120gb king. so it's super fast. now i have laptop Hdd 120GB with xbox 360 i changed it.

Try taking it to a repair shop and maybe that will help.

Hey thx for the video. Could you explain what does it mean to short pins? (Non english speaker) I still getting the Mode 255 ID Error 0001 so I assume there's an issue with the test mode part. The pilot light turns on when I connect it though.

What if you have memory IC on both sides of PCB, what to short in that case?
