@@js7733 look I understand the reflex to be upset but the multiverse has to evolve the team has to grow past it's original six members that's how story works especially comics. Besides a captain America that can fly shoot and throw the shield is kinda busted
To me the greatest hero in the MCU is the guy who refused to launch the helicarriers. He was a desk guy surrounded by armed soldiers that he had no chance against and knew that if he didn't launch someone else would but he was still the first one to make a stand.
To add on to that, it seems like more people are willing to risk physical harm than going against the group and being shamed. And he stood up and said no without knowing if everyone would agree or if they would all think that he was the one betraying shield. Definitely a real hero.
The title actually has a double meaning. Yes, it refers to Bucky, but it's also a reference to the works of Thomas Paine, an 18th century writer who supported the American Revolution. In his writings, Paine mentioned "the summer soldier and the sunshine patriot" (i.e. people who only stand up and fight for what's right when it's safe and easy), as opposed to a "winter solider" (people who still fight when things are hard). People like Steve Rogers. Therefore, you could could argue that Captain America *IS* the Winter Soldier.
I hadn't even thought of it is a reference to Paine's works, but that makes so much sense! Thank you for that! And Steve absolutely is a winter soldier.
Thank you for the info. I’d heard something or other once upon a time about the terms “winter soldier” and “summer soldier” but I never knew their source or really what they referenced. So, again, thank you.
Im proper jealous theres still people experiencing the golden age of the mcu for the first time, no spoilers but I love seeing their faces when a certain part happens haha
I love watching people react to the Bucky reveal. Honestly can’t wait for your reactions to Civil War, Infinity War and Endgame because those are right up there with this one
The reason Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans have such good chemistry on screen, is that they've been friends for decades in real life since they were in their teens.
22:27 Fun fact: In some comics, Steve and Natasha did get married and had a son who later became the leader of the Young Avengers just like his dad who is as you know the leader of The Avengers
Pound for pound my FAVORITE MCU MOVIE. ❤ the beginning of the MCU hitting it's prime. It gets real fun every movie here on out to the END GAME. ♥️♥️🎉😃😃
In the comics he has actual wings, and a sidekick bird (a falcon, natch) called Redwing. In the MCU he's a pararescue pilot; that's where the wing pack came from. He's been trained to rescue downed pilot & soldiers. A key part of his personality appears after we find out he now counsels troubled vets. Understanding, healing & compassion stand forth.
@@Caseytify I don't follow him much in the comics, so I didn't know he had real wings. So if that's the case what separates him from Angel in X-Men? Just the mutant gene?
@@Myluz12they're not real wings like Angel's. They're just part of his suit, so I don't know why the previous comment said he has actual wings since they're actually less like wings than the movie version (in the comics, his wings are a similar design to the ones Spider-Man occasionally uses in the movies to glide).
@@Myluz12 they did redesign him a few years ago so that his wings are now more similar to the MCU version. He does have some powers though - he has the ability to telepathically communicate with birds which is why he has an actual bird side-kick, Redwing, but thankfully they removed that ability in the movies.
Hi Cristy, great reaction! It's definitely one of the best MCU movies in many fan's opinions. And the item of Loki's was a scepter (sounds like septer with a silent 'c'), essentially a fancy staff (with a very powerful gem stone).
So many phenomenal story lines snake through this. Your incredible reaction when the Winter Soldier was revealed as Bucky was all of us. It was perfectly timed and builds on everything that came before from his capture in WW2, the fall to his death, and the Impact his death had on Steve. It's one of my favorite MCU movies about my favorite character. So glad you enjoyed it and i love the ChristyMeter!
When the movie came out my theatre was divided. Those of us who knew Winter Soldier was Bucky were waiting on pins and needles for the reveal. The other half who had no clue let out audible gasps across the theatre when the mask fell off. It was such a great experience watching this when it came out. It really felt like an event.
The Falcon first appeared in Captain America #117 in 1969. He didn't have flight in the beginning though, being a ground based hero a lot like Cap (except slower). They did give him a grappling hook claw, though, that enabled him to swing a bit like Spider-Man. In 1974, he gets an upgrade to where he can fly with the aid of special high technology wings. So, if he couldn't fly for the first few years of his existence, why did they call him "the Falcon" ...? It's because at the time of meeting Cap, he had been involved in a mad science affair where he was gifted with a very mild ability to telepathically communicate with birds, and thus Sam adiopted a falcon as a pet. In fights, his bird could locate enemies and distract them.
Winter Soldier is a fantastic movie in its own right and one of, if not the, best movie in the MCU :) Sebastian Stan's screams as he's getting mind wiped are CHILLING! Got an awful shiver up my spine in the theatre! Lets go!! 💪😎💪
I have a niece with no interest in marvel movies but was “dragged” to this movie by friends and afterwards became a very avid Marvel movie fan. These plots and characters, though not completely word for word, was set in the comic books 30-50 years ago. Enjoy phase 3 of Disney’s Marvel movies as possibly the greatest decade of interconnected movies!
Sorry but I loved the look of shock on your face when Bucky appeared as the Winter Soldier. I also wanted to mention that Sam Wilson, the Falcon was a comic book character who teamed up with Captain America back in the 1970s.
This is one of my favorite Marvel movies, Cristy! Years ago I popped it in to watch a little before midnight on a New Year's Eve and figured I'd watch the first half hour before I got tired, and then I couldn't stop watching, and now you can see why! Can you imagine trying to walk away from this movie after starting to watch it. This film is just incredible from start to finish and I hope you were paying attention to the Easter Eggs at the end regarding the twins!! Oh, so much more for you to explore. Glad you liked Sam Wilson AKA The Falcon. Yes, you will see more of him! Loved your facial reactions with all the big reveals in this one. Can't wait for Avengers II.
Hi Ron! Yeah I wouldn’t be able to walk away from this movie after starting it for real. I’m about to watch Guardians of the Galaxy, which I’ve heard it’s good. Wish me luck!
@@CristyReacts Gladly but you won't need any luck, you're a natural at this! Guardians is going to give you a whole new Marvel experience, but that's all I can say!! 😉
In the 70s after coming home from school on Mondays I looked forward to watching the animated Captain America. I was heartbroken in the episode where Bucky Barnes died. I had forgotten about it after all these years until I saw ‘Captain America: The First Avenger’. Imagine my shock when I saw Bucky ‘die’ again. I had long ago forgotten about him. Now imagine the excitement I felt when I saw him alive in ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’! This is now no.2 in my favorite MCU films. Actress Jenny Agutter, the council member that was Natasha (Scarlett Johanssen) in disguise, looked like Scarlett when she was younger. Some of my favorite films with Jenny Agutter were ‘Logan’s Run’, American Werewolf in London’ and ‘The Eagle Has Landed’.
@@CristyReacts Hey Cristy. I was rooting for Steve Rogers all the way to get Bucky back. I burst out in tears when Steve said “cuz I’m with you til the end of the line”. It was also exciting to see Jenny Agutter kick some ass briefly as Natasha in disguise. Love this film so much! When Bucky saw himself in the museum at the end credits, I scared the people seating next to me. Could not refrain from shouting: “YES! YES! H_LL YES!”
People forget that Captain America has a photographic memory and can learn at an exponential rate. So being in the modern times for a year or so, he's added a ton to his fighting styles with a lot of modern fighting techniques so he's literally a super fighting machine, more so than he was in WWII. And yes, Falcon was/is in the comics as a friend of Cap for years. Bucky as the Winter Soldier is also out of the comic storylines, and people went nuts in the audience with his reveal, not realizing Winter Soldier was in fact Bucky. Those cops were in fact Hydra, real cops are not that ruthless.
42:30 Don't stress over the idea of 'Oh no what if they introduced us to these characters before and I don't remember?' The chances of that occurring are practically zero. They definitely introduce new characters all the time - such as the twins or Sam Wilson's Falcon. If they re-use another character who didn't play a huge role, like the guy who refused to launch the Insight ships even with a gun to his head, or Sharon Carter (Steve's neighbor, the 'nurse'), or others, they usually do a good job of providing context through dialogue. Looking forward to Age of Ultron!
Thank you for this comment- I do stress sometimes if I’ve seen a character before because I don’t wanna disappoint y’all 😂 but I like that MCU does a great job at adding context to those characters.
You asked how they come up with the plot for these movies. Most are pulled from the comics themselves. They make changes to make it more cinematic but most are storylines Marvel came up with.
Just binged from iron man 2 to get to here this really confirms that cap had the best movies imo ion see how ppl can say otherwise this movie is a top 3 mcu movie till this point
I want you to remember the song Fury is playing when Steve comes home. I'll remind you again when the relevance comes back around. It's such a subtle callback that I only noticed it after watching other reactions on here.
I'm surprised you didn't recognize Robert Redford; his career goes back to the sixties. He's in this movie because he made a fair number of political thrillers in the seventies. Fun Fact: he took this role because his grandkids are huge Marvel fans. The directors (the Russo brothers; we'll see their work in the MCU again) kept the use of CGI to a minimum. Nearly everything you see comes from a practical effect. One thing I didn't catch for a long time: the narrator at the museum is Gary Sinise.
When I saw that he was in this I was pumped up because I've been a fan of his for a long time even &;at my age of 43 I've seen at least TEN OF HIS movies with the hustler as my favorite
As an early 20-something, I’ll admit I had no idea who he was before i saw this movie when it came out (i would’ve been 12ish). It’s not unreasonable to assume she didn’t know who he was.
The role reversal of Redford was so meta: Three Days of The Condor had Redford as the federal guy on the run from the US government agency trying to kill him
Writing this right as the video begins because I'm so excited! It is such a great one! After Guardians of the Galaxy, this is my absolute FAVORITE MCU movie
It's funny you should mention the extras. I tried out for an extra spot on this film but didn't get it. But I was in The Avengers, in 'Germany', with Loki yelling at us. Both scenes were filmed in Cleveland. The directors of this film are brothers from Cleveland; the Russos. I did get to attend the Cleveland premiere of this film. It was great. Some of the stars were there, too.
the "funny" thing about this is: the music theme from the winter soldier was buckies scream from Captain America: The first Avenger, but streched and pitched. such a cool detail
Great reaction Cristy! Yeah tis movie showcased some really cool tech. The holographic mask/face disguise used by Black Widow was previously seen in the Agents of SHIELD TV series (which I'm pretty sure you'll enjoy). Also, Sam Wilson/Falcon's wings got an upgrade in the movies, being composed of metal and bulletproof. In the comics Falcon's wings were mylar and just allowed him to glide around. Yes, he was Captain America's partner back in the 1970s comics. As for Bucky, he survived falling from the train in the first Captain America movie because Zola had already started experimenting on him while captured. Whatever he'd done apparently made Bucky tougher/more durable. Remember Steve found Bucky on a medical table in the HYDRA base when he rescued the 107th. The MCU really gets rolling in the next movie- AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON!!
Great reaction to a great movie! The three Captain America movies are MCU writing at its finest. They involve so many characters and develop all of them to make them feel real, even background characters like Sharon/Agent 13 and the amazing Maria Hill. And the everyman character who has no special abilities but becomes heroic just by standing up for what is right appears in the Captain America movies regularly, from the soldiers of the Howling Commandos in the first movie to the nameless guy in this movie who refused to launch Project Insight even with a gun to the back of his head. The message is that everyone can be a hero on some scale, and it is a great feeling to realize that one has done something that is important to someone and matters to them, because that is the kind of thing that heroes do, even if it is done without acknowledgement or acclaim. A lot of the early movies in the MCU were taken from original comic book stories and adapted, so the stories were basically adapted from stories written by legends of the ideal era of comics. Makes it easier when one is just adapting the work of legends, but it still requires very good writers to not mess it up, and the first three phases had a lot of very good writers.
6:08 I think by "eye" he meant Coalson. In Ironman 2 he said "I got my eye on you" as he leave Coulson with Tony. And right after Coulson die he said "I lost my one good eye"
Fury first referred to Loki's weapon as a spear, everyone after that seems to call it Loki's Scepter. It is a very powerful item. Captain America movies are all top tier Marvel. This will always be one of my favorite entries on the MCU.
13:53 This scene points to an _incredible_ display of trust. Steve Rogers is basically the world's ultimate _boy_ scout. He lives in a world of secrets but keeps the ones he has to deal with as few and as unintrusive he can _get_ them. Fury, on the other hand, has gotten _comfortable_ with the secrets that hide behind lies. A few scenes back, he was accusing Steve of being _naive._ He was _not_ calling him dishonest, though. He understands. Sometimes, a man is honest because lies breed _complications._ Each lie you tell is a lie you have to _remember._ Fury has come to Rogers because he _trusts_ Rogers.
my friend was very resistant to marvel yet she'd never seen it before, one day I just put winter soldier in the background and next she's asking me to restart it and give her more marvel movies to watch
1:35 I don't know if you've learned this yet, the significance of that waitress was in a deleted scene between her and Cap, they had a conversation earlier in the movie. bue to time, the scene was cut, but her reactions to the attack was left in. also, the actress, Ashley Johnson is mainly a voice actress and also part of the DnD group Critical role.
GOOD STUFF!! Breezed through some comments. One was surprised you didn't recognize a actor from before you were born 😜 Movies like; Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and Jeremiah Johnson. He's done recent stuff, just funnin. Woohoo I'm caught up now. Seen your Guardians vid. Next I think is Civil War which was a big favorite. I still think Iron Man is mine. You always remember your first. Can't Wait!! Peace 🕊️☮️♾️😎
A big thing about comic books is that no one ever really dies, they come back, they died in a different parallel universe ect. The only person in Marvel that they have a rule for is Uncle Ben (Peter Parker aka Spider-Man's uncle) stays dead. The rule for Marvel used to include Bucky, and in DC it was Jason Todd (the second Robin for Batman) but both were brought back to life in the comics Bucky was dead from like 1964 to 2005 in the comics. Only Uncle Ben remains as the only Marvel character that there is kind of a rule that he stays dead.
Widow's Veil came from the Captain America the Winter soldier film first then in season 2 of agents of shield it was frequently used throughout the show. Not before.
Great Reaction...... Loving Your Journey...... The List in Steve's notebook, changed geographiclly based on where the movie was released (USA/England/France/Asia)...... Because I didn't go see this in theaters, "Marvel's Agents of Shield" Season 2 on TV was very confusing, cause all they would say was "Everything is different after what happened in Washington....." I say that to show how ALL the movies in the MCU interlink...... The Senator (Leaving Lunch) is the same Senator that was at the Hearing in "Ironman 2" where Stark and Hamer where fighting over control of the "Ironman Technology".....
During WW2, Marvel and DC created juvenile sidekicks for their superheroes. Bucky was the kid who helped Captain America. Later he was changed to a same age friend.
Preciosa ❤️
2:46 "And you know, Steve, when you watch _Star Wars,_ there's this one particular character who pops up in the prequel trilogy; Mace Windu. Consider him when he pops up. Does he look at all familiar? I could swear he looks familiar."
This was a very nice surprise today... I think consensus is that this movie fundamentally not only changed people’s views on Captain America as a hero, but the MCU as a whole. Someone noted below, but the filming of the movie with brand two new directors as brothers, the action sequences, the score and audio mixing and moments of character. It had great flow. I also saw someone note that when they saw it, that they were disappointed because it had been overhyped so I think it depends on what your expectations are/were. I know I had a group of friends that saw it together and put it right up there next to Avengers 2012 (because that’s what was out at the time) or better because they were that blown away by this film. Whether then, or now, I think most can easily fit this within their top 5 and I can easily see top 3, depending if you go by individual character films, trilogies or including Avengers films. Regardless though, this movie definitely up'd the ante for audiences when it was released. And behind the scenes I think it shows how Kevin Feige was able to balance people because Chris Evans had been disappointed by Cap's character in Avengers & bringing in some other A-list actors to help add more character to the story. And you will probably see moving forward, but how the MCU evolves with adding different “genres” to their movies because this was a “political spy thriller” as Kevin Feige(Was and is head of Marvel Studios) referred at the time when promoting this movie. Anthony and Joe Russo couldn’t have been better directors at a perfect time and helped carry out the rest of MCU for some of it's most important films. Did you also catch the easter egg of one of the directors being in a scene…? If ya didn’t, it was Joe Russo acting as the doctor helping Nick Fury and he makes a very brief appearance in the future MCU movies he and his brother direct. p.s. on the copy right, you would have to double check by looking it up, but I have seen other reactors have videos up to roughly an hour and 8 minutes for some long movies. Later down the line, it’s up to ya, some people break up Infinity War & Endgame into 2-part reactions since there’s so much “meat” in the movie. But that can also equate to any movie length, but that’s up to however you want to have your videos. Are your MCU uploads going to be on Saturdays? And I will say you left some very small tid bits of good parts on the cutting room floor, but I bet its hard to decide what goes in video and what doesn't. And they were not cops, the SUV AI noted there was no D.C. Dispatch in the area. They were under-cover Shield(technically Hydra agents) given orders to kill Fury. Anyways loved the reaction!
Hey!! Yeah I’m thinking probably move the MCU releases for Saturday, they typically have better ramp-up than on the weekends. This time I had lots of trouble with the copyright, so it wasn’t on purpose, but I think pushing it to Saturdays has definitely been beneficial.
A few small things happen in this movie that are some of my TOP favorite moments in the MCU and they happen so fast that a lot of people don’t notice at first. Agent 13: at the stand off when Rumlow is holding the gun to the one guy to get him to launch, when everyone starts shooting Agent 13 kicks the techs chair, sliding him away from the computer, causing Rumlow to miss, and effectively saving the techs life. Black Widow: 1) when Cap grabs her and launches them thru the window to get away when a grenade is thrown at them, BW instinctively shoots the window so they can smash thru it easier. And my FAVORITE: 2) after the Winter Soldier yeets Sitwell into oncoming traffic, Natasha follows his footsteps on the roof and then *dives* into the front seat right as a shot goes into the backseat, pulling Steve’s head away from the head rest just as the WS shoots thru, and then does the *same thing* for Sam by kicking him to the side, and again a shot right where Sam’s head had just been. She knew from his foot steps who he was aiming at
There are so many little details, its worth watching multiple times. I love the first view of the Winter Soldier, standing in the middle of the street in the haze and we start to hear the ominous Winter Soldier theme for the first time. When the car flips he steps aside so calmly and then walks to the car so casually. So cool. Later, when Rumlow and crew capture Steve, Natasha, and Sam just after the Bucky reveal, Steve is on his knees and you hear the Winter Soldier theme. It tells us what Steve is thinking.
The Falcon was such a prominent figure in the comics that for five years, in the 1970's, the cover logo for Cap's comic was "Captain America and The Falcon".
Es una película bastante sólida. Presenta personajes nuevos pero muestra al Capi en gloria y majestad, tal vez más que en ninguna de las demás películas. Realmente muy buena. Saludos.
@@rgoodwyn Yeah. That is an emerging trend. The dynamic range and color gamut of digital CCDs are still lagging quality film stock, as such many cinematographers still use film for higher quality. But, yes. Digital video recording has reached a quality and expense (not having to but loads of film, for one) threshold that makes it an economical option for many projects. But film is still the preferred medium, for now, for larger budget projects and auteur DPs. :-)

I read a headcanon once that Peggy is the person who first taught him how to fight *sucessfully*, and I can never unsee it when I watch his movies. Peggy’s fighting style is just an aggressive brawler combination of classic women’s self defense. Your opponent is almost always gonna be bigger and stronger than you so use their size against them. Isolate a joint, use hard elbow and knee strikes, manipulate their high center of gravity to more easily knock them to the ground/throw them over ur shoulder, use your own lower center of gravity and higher lower body strength to kick *hard*. And when in doubt grab an equalizer 🪑🪓🔨. Fight *dirty*. And Steve? Steve was a scrawny, skinny, asthma ridden ball of aggression and rage when it came to injustice, who had spent his whole life trying to fight off larger, stronger opponents the only way he’d seen before, like a big muscly, strong person. Which is of course why he never won. But Peggy? Peggy taught how to fight like a Woman fights. Small, fast, resourceful. If you google the fighting styles of MCU Cap, you’ll see that a lot of the martial arts listed are very popular for women, and women’s self defense. Boxing, Taekwondo, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Muay Thai, judo, Krav Maga, all. And when u watch the fight scenes in the movies, it’s a lot of legs, kicks, use of an equalizer (shield) and throws. I always thought that was a cool head canon
"I'm with you to the end of the line" is what Bucky told Steve when they were younger. They were coming back from the funeral for Steve's mother, and he lost his father in World War I. So he was now an orphan. Bucky let Steve stay with him, and they shared an apartment until Bucky went off to fight. When Steve said the same thing during the fight, it brought back Bucky's deep memories. The brain-washing machine they used on Bucky could not remove *all* his memories, because then he would lose his fighting and other necessary skills. It only removes the recent ones and Hydra could then fill those with lies.

I just found your channel. Liked and subscribed. To answer some of your questions with no spoilers: -- The MCU phases 1, 2, & 3 were fleshed out in pre-production in the middle 1990's. The MCU draws heavy references from the comics, but makes their own stories. The Marvel / Stan Lee spirit of story telling holds true for a while. Disney agenda creeps in and builds slowly until eventually saturating the Marvel franchise by the end of phase 3 - kind of like a real life Hydra. -- Yes, Falcon is a hero in Marvel Comics. He & Cap are close friends and shared many heroic comic book adventures together. The Winter Soldier (Bucky) is also very prominent in the Captain America comics. -- Nick Fury was indeed a bad-ass. During the initial attack on Fury, Nick's SUV computer tells him there were no police forces at that location. This told Nick those were agents disguised as police. At the time, Nick didn't know that Hydra was calling the shots.
1)"I like Stilwell..."; Hydra supporter confirmed. 2)"My name is Steve, I love my shield" should put on coasters so you can put your wine glasses on them. 3) Don't know if anyone mentioned, but you get more Fury backstory later to answer your question
15:52 "But he- But he doesn't know. He _actually_ doesn't know." No. He knows. General Fury was in hiding, and he had apparently just been in a _scrape._ That told him that SHIELD had been compromised and that he had to start being selective about who, at SHIELD, he could _trust._
What almost everyone under...what, 45? misses is that Secretary Pierce is played by Robert Redford, cinematic god and the hero of "Three Days of the Condor," the 1975 political thriller that this movie is very heavily...oh, we'll say inspired by.
Why draw attention to something the films haven't? While light, it's still a spoiler.
Winter Soldier is a fantastic movie in its own right and one of, if not the, best movie in the MCU :)
Sebastian Stan's screams as he's getting mind wiped are CHILLING! Got an awful shiver up my spine in the theatre!
Lets go!! 💪😎💪
Definitely one of my favorites so far!!
Took me a minute but when I realized it was Bucky I was stunned!!
For me it’s still the best MCU movie period
@@NPA1001 So during this period it's the best movie. What about the next period?
love this one and love what Steve tells Bucky at the end
I can’t imagine how you felt in the movies when you saw Bucky was alive AND THE VILLAIN!!
YES! H_LL YES!”
Top tier mcu right here
Top ten comic movie period
Chris Evans and Scarlet Johansson have been friends in real life since they were about 12
You can tell, they have great energy together!!
Did I miss photographic memory mention in a film?
@@yodieyuh It's been established for years as the serum affected his brain as much as his muscles.
@@minnesotajones261
I don't remember it being said and you're saying we forgot.
Where was it established? I'd like to go back and see.
@@yodieyuh In the first movie he remembers the location of hydra bases from a map he saw for a brief moment
This is one of, if not my favourite marvel movie. Works on so many levels not just as a comic book film
And Redford was also the fan-pick in the late 70's / early 80's to play Steve Rogers, so there is that.
When I saw that he was in this I was pumped up because I've been a fan of his for a long time even &;at my age of 43 I've seen at least TEN OF HIS movies with the hustler as my favorite
The Russo Brothers sister was the girl sam was counseling who said I saw a bag and thought it was iad at swerved to miss it
As an early 20-something, I’ll admit I had no idea who he was before i saw this movie when it came out (i would’ve been 12ish). It’s not unreasonable to assume she didn’t know who he was.
The role reversal of Redford was so meta: Three Days of The Condor had Redford as the federal guy on the run from the US government agency trying to kill him
28:25 “Bird costume.” You’ll get the joke later.
Kristy this movie was the start for a consecutive string of 14 straight great marvel movies 😊
Writing this right as the video begins because I'm so excited! It is such a great one!
After Guardians of the Galaxy, this is my absolute FAVORITE MCU movie
Gaaaaah I just watched guardians of the galaxy and loved it!! (uploading it tomorrow!)
yesssss can't wait for the notification! I'm so glad you loved it!@@CristyReacts
I think you might also enjoy the Agent Carter tv-show (an ABC production). It is only two season (unfortunately), but it’s very good.
Yes! it's so good. And also Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D!!!
Oh wowwww that’s awesome!!
How cool is that! 😃
everyone loves the falcon! - love watching peoples reaction to him.
Loving your MCU journey so far. Soooo much emotions ahead of you.
Winter Soldier is still my favorite MCU film and I loved Endgame
13:46 she doesn’t even know how special that song is yet. Just you wait. And while you’re waiting, remember the song.
I’m so happy you recognised Bucky straight away. I missed it and most reactors miss it too
Another great reaction, you are on a roll 🙂
the "funny" thing about this is: the music theme from the winter soldier was buckies scream from Captain America: The first Avenger, but streched and pitched. such a cool detail
Wow this IS a cool detail!
Wait the next one is Guardians of the Galaxy, right? That’s what I’m watching next
@@CristyReacts oh, you're right! Guardians comes first! And in my opinion it's even more awesome than AOU!!
I hear they have planning sessions as much as a year in advance. Also of course they have the comics as a source to fall back on and use as framework.
“I am steve, I love my shield” LMAO! 🤣
A few scenes back, he was accusing Steve of being _naive._
He was _not_ calling him dishonest, though. He understands. Sometimes, a man is honest because lies breed _complications._ Each lie you tell is a lie you have to _remember._
Fury has come to Rogers because he _trusts_ Rogers.
my friend was very resistant to marvel yet she'd never seen it before, one day I just put winter soldier in the background and next she's asking me to restart it and give her more marvel movies to watch
Back in the 70s, for a long run, Captain America’s comic was called “Captain America and The Falcon”.
14:03 Fury really is married. We will meet her much much later in the MCU saga
Well, would've been nice to be surprised by that :-/
The mask Black widow was wearing is called The willows Veil is made from the same cloaking technology as the helicarrier.
It came from Agents of SHIELD, where it was frequently used.
Widow's Veil came from the Captain America the Winter soldier film first then in season 2 of agents of shield it was frequently used throughout the show. Not before.
Yes falcon is in the comics and works with Steve
Cristy the trouble Man sound track is a album you should definitely listen to
During WW2, Marvel and DC created juvenile sidekicks for their superheroes. Bucky was the kid who helped Captain America. Later he was changed to a same age friend.
Preciosa ❤️
Uff estoy de acuerdo!!
When i think back to this movie its so obvious why the directors got the call for a bunch of the big upcoming movies
Saludos.
“I wonder how these action scenes get recorded.”
Usually on film.
;-)
Actually they are usually shot digitally and not on film these days lol
@@rgoodwyn Yeah. That is an emerging trend. The dynamic range and color gamut of digital CCDs are still lagging quality film stock, as such many cinematographers still use film for higher quality. But, yes. Digital video recording has reached a quality and expense (not having to but loads of film, for one) threshold that makes it an economical option for many projects.
But film is still the preferred medium, for now, for larger budget projects and auteur DPs.

Oh nice! Great breakdown. I don’t really notice their different fighting styles, but I’ll pay more attention now.
I love that you love falcon (sam)!

To answer some of your questions with no spoilers:
-- The MCU phases 1, 2, & 3 were fleshed out in pre-production in the middle 1990's.
At the time, Nick didn't know that Hydra was calling the shots.
haha "like a real life Hydra" 😅 -- yes definitely watching them all in release order. And I agree, Nick is a badass!

15:52 "But he- But he doesn't know. He _actually_ doesn't know."
No. He knows. General Fury was in hiding, and he had apparently just been in a _scrape._ That told him that SHIELD had been compromised and that he had to start being selective about who, at SHIELD, he could _trust._
Evans and Johansson have been acting together since they were kids, so they obviously have chemistry…

What almost everyone under...what, 45? misses is that Secretary Pierce is played by Robert Redford, cinematic god and the hero of "Three Days of the Condor," the 1975 political thriller that this movie is very heavily...oh, we'll say inspired by. He always played good guys, so for folks of a certain age his heel turn here came as a real surprise.
I still consider this movie in my top 5, or even top 3,MCU movies.
