    For sure cried when Groot saved everyone, honestly I think it was Rocket's reaction as much as anything. He spends the whole movie being this coarse, sarcastic A-hole, then to hear him break down while pleading with Groot not to do it was really moving.

    I don't think it's been mentioned yet, and some people seem to get confused by it, but Groot did actually die in the film. The "baby" at the end is his son. It's never really explained in the movie but James Gunn talked about it in an interview a few years back. Cheers from Florida.

      @@CristyReactsyeah I still cry every time.
      I think what clicks for me with Groot in particular [and in guessing for a lot of people] is that he's just a pure soul; he's a ruthless killer when he or his friends are threatened, but he still has a kind of innocent quality about him.
      You can hear and see his emotions in every varied delivery of his 3 word line thanks to Vin Diesel's surprisingly nuanced and emotive VA performance and the incredible work of the VFX team.
      Others have already expressed similar sentiments, and I'll join with them now: the Guardians of the Galaxy movies are my favorite standalone series of films in all of the MCU.

    • @RandomPau
      @RandomPau 9 месяцев назад +2

      @@CristyReacts even if James Gunn talked about it, I've never accepted that it's Groots' baby. Rocket did not plant a seed from Groot. He planted an actual piece of Groot, ( ie; a branch!) and that's what was growing in the flower pot.
      As an alien tree lifeform, Groot also can grow faster than Earth trees.
      *Spoiler alert way below.
      As evidence in GofG vol.3, Groots' head is completely separated from his body and he just rapidly grows a new one.

    • @Logan_Baron
      @Logan_Baron 8 месяцев назад +3

      @@RandomPau Look up tree propagation, in which trees are grown from branches of other trees. His body was decimated in the blast when he took the full damage to protect the others. There was nothing to grow from. No body to grow a new head. Also IF your example were to hold up, then there would be no need for Rocket to have planted the branch. If it were the same as your example, he could have just regrown a new one immediately there right after we saw him blown up. Why didn't he do that like he did in Vol. 3? Because he couldn't. Because he was dead.

    Actually comics are made for different readers. Guardians of the Galaxy was popular for a small group of readers but not on the XMen or Avengers level. Everything you see in the MCU is either directly taken from the comics or mashed up or altered in some way to fit the story. James Gunn took huge liberty in changing these characters but made a fun and enjoyable movie series

      Just to expand on this, you're right. A Guardians book may be more odd/trippy or funny while the X-Men was more of an allegory for the Civil Rights movement. Spider-Man is about a superhero that deals with very down to earth and relatable problems while also having superhero problems.

    As far as I am concerned there is nothing wrong about crying for a tree or plants they are living beings just like you or all of us and it also means you have a good heart and feelings💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍

    [didn't scroll down far enough initially to set that someone else already told you the first part]
    You're still right to mourn Groot; he did in fact die protecting the rest of the Guardians during the crash.
    Like some of earth's plant species, Groot's species reproduce asexually. The Groot you see growing in the flower pot is the offspring of the Groot we saw through most of the movie.
    Also, while Groot can only say a few words, his species communicate largely telepathically. Members of other species can learn to understand him; they just need to spend enough time with him for the link to be made.
    This is why Rocket understands what he's saying when nobody can. They only just met him

    "This tree made me cry" -- Now we have proof that Groot is part Weeping Willow.
    Marvel Lore FYI: Groot's language is based on vocal inflection and not on words. Technically, Groot did die. At the end you are seeing Groot, son of Groot. Parent Groots pass some of their "life learnings" to their offspring genetically, but the offspring have a personality of their own.
    Yes, all these characters were in Marvel comics. There are some changes in the MCU. For one thing, in the comics it was Thanos that killed Drax's family and not Ronan.

    3:51 "Why are they doing this to us so early in the _movie?"_
    They're introducing a necessary trait about this particular character. The most compelling heroes have traumatic loss that they have _overcome._ The most compelling villains have traumatic loss by which they have been _consumed._

    Obscure is correct. I’m a comic reader and I did not know who Rocket Raccoon was until Marvel VS Capcom 3. There were several characters my friend and I couldn’t place so we looked them up and next thing you know Rocket becomes my favorite comic character ever

    Hey, found your channel a little while ago and have been having great fun catching up with your MCU series and your other content; you've already made some great choices. I add my vote to the others encouraging you to watch the Matrix trilogy, you won't regret it!
    I guess it's only been 2 months but it's still hard to believe you only have 5.5K subs so far - you get great views on your content and deservingly so! You are a natural to this and extremely fun to watch, and you (or your editor) are doing an awesome job with the video quality. Best wishes for the future, hope you have all the success you wish for and that you keep giving us great reactions 😁

    Really glad you loved this one! Like I said, while Avengers was really good and phase 1 helped set up a lot. I think Winter Soldier and Guardians is where the MCU was able to let go of its shackles and really delve deep into genre esc. films (Winter Soldier - political spy thriller. Guardians - Comedy space adventure and you'll see it as it grows.) Cool tid bits - The right-hand man of Yondu, Kraglin is James Gunn brother, Sean Gunn. He also did the mo-cop(motion capture) for Rocket, not just in this film, but for future films. James Gunn did the motion capture for baby Groot at the end. Vin Diesel even recorded "I am Groot" in other languages for the film.

    thanos and hulk are done using mocap
    aka the actor wears a suit filled with dots and they transform their acting mixed with cgi
    it's also how a lot of video games are now made, it's not just voice actors it's people acting in mocap suits transferred
    and yes, they are all in the comics

    6:05 "Should I watch _The Matrix?"_
    😯Oh! _Absolutely!_ It probably won't be as paradigm shifting for you as it was for me, but _you'll love it!_ It's sequels I'm kind of lukewarm on, even though their special effects, if you can believe it, were _orders of magnitude_ better, but they're not as good. _The Matrix,_ though is awesome.
