Forgot to mention they doubled the ram. 128mb to 256mb and they added more video memory(6mb to 10mb). The extra cpu core is also nice since it is dedicated to the OS, so now they have a total of 4 cores, three of which are usable for games and apps.
the two cameras are for shooting 3d video, the single camera and ir sensor is for head tracking for smooth 3d at angles. not the other way around as stated in this video.
Just wanted to thank you guys. I had two 3ds XL. One had a broken shell but still worked, the other's shell was fine, but I dropped it in some water and fried the insides. Thanks to your guides on your website, my brother and I were able to salvage one working ds out of them both. :)
I doubt cartridges will be gone soon, because physical media is waaayyy more popular when it comes to games. Not to mention Nintendo's shoddy account system withholds a lot of people from making all their purchases digitally (if you lose your system, you lose your games...).
(Late reply) If you call up Nintendo support, they can transfer your games (not your saves though) by unlinking your account with the stolen or broken 3DS. This means that games aren't saved to a cloud server like Steam or Xbox. Which is terrible for digital games. Hopefully Nintendo sees the and fixes it some day

There are so many different types of connections, it’s impossible to tell how to remove them. This is a very important aspect of the disassembly of the system, and you decided to completely skip over it, like “swoosh, they’re all disconnected!” It’s worse that this is really the only disassembly guide of the New 3ds XL.

This lady really knows her stuff. I wish the screen on the 3ds had a better resolution. It's pretty low quality for today's standards. The upper screen has pretty huge bezels too. It would look better if the screen was stretched out to where the speakers are like a laptop.
you're right! it's low resolution! but if you have good eyes and turn on the 3D effect, and disable energy saver and auto-bright, the image will be much more cleaner. when turn the 3D effect off, the image will be filtered a little, losing image quality.

I managed to break the mic without ripping the cable or breaking the connector and I am so confused BTW the N3DS is second hand but the mic worked when I got it and the HOME button did not so in fixing it (which I did not) I broke them mic somehow so its ether the dumb clasp thing or the mic itself and I think its the clasp because they do not close all the way for some reason.

So, after I first bought my New Nintendo 3ds (New Black) after 3 receiving the system, part of the right bumper could not be pushed. Sirius Star tere are 4 screws below the 4 little rubber pieces on the top screen. Take those out and the top should pop or slide off with a little pressure. Then you have access to the insides of the top screen

I ended up stripping the fucking screws under the plate... despite using the proper everything. Turned the right way, used JIS 000, yet they're practically fucking bonded to the damned motherboard.
+NeonVin i have a technique for tight screws. if the screws it's screwed on plastic, i use my soldering iron to heat the screw just a little, enough to untight it and unscrew it. i hope that help.

hey. just to let u know that i have one new 3ds problem that no one ever has. it keeps turning on and off. i am pretty sure it got nothing to do with the flexy cable. and i strongly believe it was the power button. to make it simpler, imagine an invisible finger pressing the power button constantly. thats exactly wat happened to my 3ds go to my channel to check it out. i uploaded one video.
+Isyraq Abu Bakar it might actually be a fuse, when the system reaches full charge it shuts off, fuses are pretty easy to replace if you can find the one causing the problem, and your theory may also very well be the case, see if ref lowing it, or just a simple reseat/ clean up works

@2:18 just putting this out there, you can use more more than 32gb of micro sd as long as you format it as fat32 (I'm using a 128 gb on my n3ds)

Remember compatibility withs the old 3DS Games and if Nintendo make more changes the price maybe will increase.

and also , i dont think its due to charging. cuz i remember i left it next to my bed uncharged and turned it off. the next morning it was on.
