Yeah, the Wave hits the sweet spot for me where I otherwise feel overburdened or under prepared. Compared to a toolbox, multitools suck, but otherwise they can be quite handy. Personally, I do not care for the magnetic architecture of the newer Leathermans due to the undersized tools and the magnets collecting crud with every introduced task. I currently carry the Surge but I am a big man with big hands and so the weight is less of an issue for me. The Wave still comes down the creek dog walking with me since it fits my Maxpedition pouch so well.

The hard wire cutter is at the bottom. You can see there is a slight indent in the cutters. You were cutting in the middle.

Good review. I have a Wave+ that resides in my EDC bag, which is really more of an emergency tool bag. I also own a Free P4, which I keep in the office. I'm almost never wanting for a dedicated tool that isn't already included in the Leatherman. As you say, very high quality construction. Somewhat cheaper in the US compared to Ireland, where it was $119 US.

@@ahill209 hey, thanks 👍🏼 those P4’s are very nice! I like that you have one in your EDC pack and one sitting in the office!
