I honestly hate the new cutters with the gap at the bottom. I have a Leatherman Knifeless Rebar and I installed the EOD cutters, but I modified the 1 corner for them to fit. I only cut electric wire, so the longer straight cutters are definitely amazing. If you are wanting to still cut harder wire, get the Bond, Curl, or an older Leatherman without the replacement cutters. Leatherman really needs to bring back the 154cm cutters, because those were strong. I had 1 Leatherman with the 154cm replacement cutters and they cut chain link fence, barbed wire and the cutters looked almost untouched. I was so confused why my Leatherman Knifeless Rebar cutters kept breaking until I researched that Leatherman changed the cutters twice. My Leatherman Bond, without the replacement cutters are very strong and makes me feel like I have the 154cm cutters back. I just wished I could have a saw on the Bond, and have locking tools.

I would definitely reach out to Leatherman. I have an arc and a surge and have never had a problem with either of my tools and I use my surge heavily daily at work. I work in heavy civil construction and it takes a beating. I’m sure they’ll take care of those problems for you. Good luck. Thanks for the video

@@HorsepowerHeaven yeah, I thought it was a little strange that they got damaged so easily. Gonna send them an email, see what happens. Thanks for taking the time to comment and share your experience 👍🏼🌱

Bro i understand you, rust is one of the worst things of leatherman multitools, i have mine since july and it has alrady little rust spots, i got an leatherman surge and this is a shame... i have also a victorinox swisschamp and i never saw any rust spot.... leatherman should look at what is happening in they factories and improve this....

Maybe I'm the bad guy in the room. I've carried gerber tools for 30 plus years. Great product and no nonsense warranty.

@craigunscripted not sure model, I have carried different makes as they have changed. Think it's the 600. It has locks and replaceable cutting edges in the jaws. I carry regular type, not needle nose.

I carried the original gerber with bit set for 25 years but now carry the wave plus because of the bit set. And I am rough on it.

There are many complaints about new productions. Sad that any replacement cutters I order will be like this. They insist on using low grade blade steel on even expensive models of the old basics. I had some with higher steel on the straight blade but standard steel on the serrated blade. They were $50 when I first got into them (on par with Gerber price) but now you can pay $200 for a tool that you are still told to reach for your real tools that often cost a lot less. I wonder if the cutters was to cut down on their repair cost, or to let them use lower steel on the pliers and "harder" steel cutters.

I think you would like the leatherman surge it's for hard work i use the leatherman surge with bit kits and ratchet driver use it all the time works very well love it also love the leatherman super tool 300 and the leatherman bond for weekend's

@@LeathermanSurge-q6l that’s sound advice! Gonna check them out, particularly the surge, and see if it’s worth the purchase for work. Wave plus is serving fine so far but definitely limited to lighter use

They will have the same grade of steel in their construction, just more of it. As the Rebar is to the Super Tool 300, the Wave+ is to the Surge, almost the same model just more steel. Significant weight to it over the Wave+.

Copper wire only please. Not metal like steel wire wrap. I have the original but most multi tools pinch my hand.
