Brent is a vocal master. Strong and steady. He moves through the notes effortlessly, and maintains the song's magic just as it was recorded, and even better at times. One of the best rock vocalists there is.❤
I went to see Shinedown in Manchester a few years back and honestly I have never heard any other artist that sang as amazingly as he did! He sounds exactly like his recordings! The man has some serious talent!!

Here's the facts people, yes a track is being played here. Another fact is this is 4 years ago, so a lot can change, and he has worked on his voice, and I would say is back to his prime. One more thing, they do a lot of acoustic shows now, because it is just easier on his voice. Mad respect for mad talent and drive to continue to be able to belt out songs like this.

Went to see Shinedown one year at Bayfest in Mobile, AL. I was so excited....but lead singer had lost voice. Hey it happens. I've always wanted to see them again. Hope to see them close to south Alabama again. Shinedown is such a great band. I want that next chance to see them live.

If you need confirmation that he's lip singing this, go listen to other performances live, and listen closely for the lyrics "She Waved". The recorded release doesn't say "She Waved" clearly. "She waved" isn't clear in this live performance and it matches the recording perfectly.

Im knew at this shit. But this is true talent, but most importantly music. I don't get how all these non musically artist get millions and millions of views. This song from shinedown should be written years from now in history books, but no. Why is that? That's because music in this generation is dead. Nobody knows what music is. If Mozart or baytovan came back to life all of sudden! !! They'll be disgusted what music is now days

Anyone doubting Brent's talent watch the live video of him singing simple man with just a dude playing acoustic it's labeled that it was performed in February.
so many people say Brent mimics, if you listen closely you see that he's just insanely good and true in what he does, the vocals are diffent then studios, you can hear in in various points of the video
The vocals are recorded through the PA, and mixed, and then overlaid with new vocals where the notes aren´t "good enough". I don´t think it´s brent´s decision, but still, it´s true.
You obviously are not a muscian and can't hear that the vocal track on this is the EXACT SAME THING as the studio recording, it's called stemming. Also I bet many of you didn't notice the strings in the background, who is playing those? Its a computer, the harmonys are being lypsinc'd too. This performance is like 30% real.
***** tune your ear better. It is NOT the same. But hey..it's music..it's their music..so what if they do some back-dubbing to make it sound more like the album? We get way too suck on the notion of being "raw"
Brian Ditmer It is in fact the studio vocal, I even asked their sound guy when they opened for KISS a year ago, back dubbings ok, just not when there is more dub than actual instruments being played, then essentially it kills the life of the "performance"

yeah, cos you totally can't change the way his voice sounds with today's audio technology. it's crisp clear as record. if you can't tell it's playback with lip sync then you are tone deaf.

I just want to point out that, while at one time Brent was an amazingly talented singer, he had worn out his vocal chords through lack of vocal training. He could've been so great too. If you listen to their older live videos, you'll hear him straining his voice terribly

Studio track is dubbed over the top of this. Its not live. I listen to that song every day and it is 100% the studio version.
Actually, for proshot footage like this, they cut out the crowd so you can hear the music better.
Damn shame they're lip syncing this song.....I've seen them numerous times , and while they are the best live band (as far as sounding like they do on the album) that I've ever seen, they have NEVER done this song this good in concert. This is the studio version being lip synched.

saw another version of this (i think it was the full set) and as soon as he started singing it sounded more like the album. don't get me wrong, he sounds amazing either way, but it kinda ruined it with the vocals being dubbed over :(
The man can sing, but he's miming most of this, the studio vocals are exactly the same as this live version, he's stopped doing it now but he did do it A LOT through this tour

his voice is better live then in studio. seen them live last year and i will always remember that concert cuz his voice is 10 times better than any other singers voice ive seen live and i have seen ivan moody (ffdp) myles kennedy (slash) sebastian bach (skid row) and many more

@@spyder3777 That's a fair opinion. I'd definitely take Smith over him but that probably just boils down to taste rather than a level of talent. I've never been a Journey guy. Arnel is up there with talent though no doubt.

Reproduction may be the album, the vocal is not perfect so live.
Love them, but it's not live. You can't hear a crowd so, obviously, it is a playback. You don't need to be an expert to see that.
