2 cups lentils
1 small banana
3 spoons of flour
1.5 cups of flour
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic
Black pepper, cumin, paprika, salt
2 spoons of olive oil
Liquid oil

Excellent recipe. Thank you Nur'un! Here's a suggested transcription that I use (though I use way less salt and pepper):
• 2 cups flat green or brown lentils
• 1 small banana
• 3 tablespoons of bread flour
• 1.5 cups of breadcrumbs
• 1 onion, grated and strained
• 2 cloves of garlic, minced
• Black pepper, cumin, paprika, thyme, salt*
• 2 tablespoons of olive oil
• Liquid oil for frying
1. Soak lentils overnight with ample water to cover. Drain well. Cook with fresh water until soft. Cool, drain.
2. Place in a bowl with banana. Blend/mash together.
3. Add seasonings* (looked like about 1 tsp cumin, 2 tsp paprika--I use one tsp; 1-1/2 tsp dried thyme, and black pepper & salt to taste); onion, garlic, and flour and mix well.
4. Add breadcrumbs slowly until thick and mixture holds shape when formed. Cover and place in refrigerator to rest for 20 minutes.
5. Form into balls or small patties. Brush with olive oil.
6. Bake in oven @ 200C or 400F for 20 minutes. Or fry in oil, turning carefully, until browned on both sides.. Drain on paper towels.

I added green coriander and persely. It gives it another fresh flavor and an unforgettable smell
Also chopped green chilli and grated ginger to be added. Along with coriander and parseley gives heavenly experience.
Mash potatoes and mix with bread crumbs, stuff with lentil paste. You get wonderful streetfood called tikki. Serve with tamarind sauce or mustard sauce or tomato ketchup etc

@@zamgoods it works well in this recipe, not too Sweet, i made them and were delicious, I used Quinoa instead of flour and fried them in coconut oil, added lemon juice at the end.👍🏼
I love the taste of lentils... I have often gone for a week at a time eating only boiled green lentils with good quality butter on them. Yumm... and it is a way to eat very economically... (I would do this at times when I had no money for food as I could eat for a week on just a kilo of green lentils.)

Next time you could add some rice to the lentils. This way you get all amino acids that your body needs. I read that in that famous book about the gut. Lentils with rice is better then without the rice and many tribes in the world know this and survive on this food combo.
@@Mondoshawn Thanks... Yes, I could do that, though now, at this time, I have adopted a Carnivore lifestyle so I only eat animal products. The health benefits have been phenomenal for me on Zero Carbs.

Не могу представить сочетание вкусов чечевицы, банана и лука, сдаётся мне, что банан и лук "не подружатся", но рецепт интересный. Рискну попробовать, только спелый банан брать не буду, а вот зелёный, когда он по вкусу ближе к овощу, чем к фрукту, будет самое то. Спасибо за интересную задумку и два варианта приготовления.

This looks like a great recipe and cannot wait to try it. The banana threw me for a moment lol. But I suspect it is not really tasted but lends a sweetness and helps bind it. I look forward to giving this a try later this week. Thank you for sharing.
Just a suggestion, you can get even more flavour into your lentils if you either cook them in vegetable stock or just add an onion and clove or two of garlic to the water along with some fresh thyme (or whatever dried herb you use later). I no longer cook my lentils without an nion and garlic in the water or stock (and usually a bay leaf or two) as it makes such a difference in flavour.

Aromatics like onion, garlic and herbs are all great suggestions but the salt in stock can prevent lentils from softening, so it's better to add it at the end.

But if you have problems with acidity, soak it overnight before boiling it. Discard the water used in soaking it and rinse it again. It's a good accompaniment for chapati and rice.

Recipe mods: replace flour with: gluten free mixed flour, instead of breadcrumbs use Quinoa (I used cooked) For the Oil use Coconut Oil and afterwards add fresh Lemon Juice😋

Take 1 t/spoon linseed (powder) mix with 1 t/spoon water and add to the recipe.

It’s like falafel except with lentils. I have made something like this before except I baked it inside of a thin dough wrapper like a pastry. I added powered imitation beef broth and a small amount of finely diced Swiss cheese to the lentil mixture along with some soy margarine and cayenne pepper/cumin. The friend who I gave some to wanted me to make him a whole batch and even offered to pay me for a bulk batch of it. He couldn’t believe there was no meat in it. The taste was something similar to a Jamaican beef patty but with a very thin and flaky shell,so somewhat like a samosa too. *If you fry the lentils before boiling them (the same way you make fried rice) it makes the mixture VERY juicy 😋and reduces the cooking time quite a bit. I didn’t add flour but I believe I used a boiled plaintain 🤔 if I remember correctly and those have plenty of starch so it’s very sticky and hold it together well without being dry at all.
No flour !!

Esa receta le arruina todo lo bueno a las lentejas, le añade muchísimas calorías tanto de carbohidratos cómo de grasa, no muy recomendable :/ Tal vez pasa de vez en cuándo...
@@milagroscanario5843 no, el plátano 🍌 es en lugar del huevo 🥚 para que ligue o sea para que sea una masa homogénea y unida, sino se rompería a pedazos y no se podría dar la forma de hamburguesas, albóndigas etc no da apenas sabor entre tanta lenteja, las recetas vegetarianas estrictas y/o veganas usan esto y algun componente más para hacer el trabajo del huevo, por ejemplo: compota de manzana 🍏 🍎, agua+harina de garbanzos, etcétera . • 1 onion, grated and strained
• 2 cloves of garlic, minced
• Black pepper, cumin, paprika, thyme, salt*
• 2 tablespoons of olive oil
• Liquid oil for frying
1. Soak lentils overnight with ample water to cover. Drain well. Cook with fresh water until soft. Cool, drain.
2. Place in a bowl with banana. Blend/mash together.
3. Add seasonings* (looked like about 1 tsp cumin, 2 tsp paprika--I use one tsp; 1-1/2 tsp dried thyme, and black pepper & salt to taste); onion, garlic, and flour and mix well.
4. Add breadcrumbs slowly until thick and mixture holds shape when formed. Cover and place in refrigerator to rest for 20 minutes.
5. Form into balls or small patties. Brush with olive oil.
6. Bake in oven @ 200C or 400F for 20 minutes. Or fry in oil, turning carefully, until browned on both sides.. Drain on paper towels "

Karbanátky z čočka dělám už dlouho, jen místo banánu jsem dávala jedno vejce. A bylo to moc dobré, nikdo nepoznal, že to není maso. S banánem místo vejce to určitě co nejdříve udělám 🙂
