  • A lot of folks have been having issues with their fan flap melting because of excess heat in the ash pan. Well I haven't had this issue, however I do get charcoal debris in my fan causing an EF error and my fan won't work. I usually need to remove the fan and get the debris out. I believe with this mod that this issue will be a thing of the past. So sit back relax and watch how I installed this mod. LSS web site is listed below. Luke is a great guy and does excellent work:

    I have the LSS shelf. The material strength is a fair but the convenience of the design is awesome. Very nice for drip pans below your meat to avoid greasy clean up

      Hey Gerald, I am looking at getting the shelf for sure. Being able to use a drip pan would definitely have its advantages. Thanks for stopping by 😎

      I do not regret getting this cooker. It does an awesome job. Grilling or smoking/barbecuing. It works great. Thanks for watching my friend 😎

    Very helpful video Mike thank you! I'm ordering a unit now. Regarding the iGreely cable, there are 2 types. 5V to 9V OR 5V TO 12V. Does it matter?

      I've got the 5V to 12V and it works really well. I'm not sure if the 9V works. Just remember to store the cables in a dry place and don't leave them connected to the cooker. They will fail. I found out the hard way

    Mike, any plans to do the rotisserie mod on this like Tom Horsman did? I'm still having fun with the grill as is, but I can't promise it isn't in my future.

    I have seen people put a wood block in the ash pan like hickory or cherry after the mod so the hot ash make it smoke better . Haven't tried it but it's a idea .

      Yeah Steve putting wood in the ash pan is a major reason that the fan flap gets destroyed. I usually put plenty of wood in the charcoal hopper. But with this mod I will be putting wood in the pan. Thanks for stopping by my friend 😎

      I put wood in the ash pan without mods and have not had a problem with it so far. Just don't get crazy with it. I also put some wood in my hopper like Mike said, so I only throw a medium size chunk or two in there at time in the ash pan and it definitely kicks out a nice hickory smell. They typically will catch on fire at some point, so don't over do it.

      @kevinmach730 I haven't had an issue with the flap. But I was getting charcoal debris in the fan. Hopefully this will fix that

      @@mikecha1957 Was your opinion that the charcoal was coming from debris dropping into the ash pan and bouncing into the fan? I guess it doesn't matter, as a fan positioned further away would like fix it-just more curious where you thought it was coming from.

      @mikecha1957  11 месяцев назад

      @kevinmach730 I assume that is the case. I'm not sure how else the debris would get in there. Hopefully, this mod will keep my fan clear.
