If it’s too hot to handle then it hasn’t rested long enough. Sit on the counter til 180 internal then rest in a cooler for a couple hours. I’ve hear of people resting for up to 4.
Awesome lookin Brisket!
So i didnt see any ambient probes. My chargriller is always way off from the dialed in temp to the actual ambient temp according to my temp probe
I saw the juice dripping off that knife as you cut into the point. Looked super delicious. 👌
Thanks Garry for watching! Yeah, it was really delicious!
Nice looking brisket there! That new 980 is sweet!
Thanks man! Yeah, smoooooooth lol.
Great video, however I feel like you didn't mention the total time
Great job on that Brisket Rob, that this was super juicy and I'm sure full of flavor with Uncle Steve's Shake!!
Good looking brisket Rob. Family will definitely enjoy it !
Thanks for checking it out Kent! It was really good!
Send it to me Rob! That looks amazing!
Looks awesome Rob! Nice cook.
Thanks Tyler! I appreciate you watching it!
looks AMAZING!!!
🍴looks great Rob!
Thanks Geoff!
Awesome Brisket Rob! Loaderman approved 😂😎👍
Haha, thanks for watching man!
Great looking brisket Rob! I’ve had my 980 for about 2 weeks now and can’t wait to get a brisket on it. Love it and hope to become an ambassador for them one day. Keep up the great work. New subscriber to your channel....
@@bassman7496 I actually do when it comes to longer cooks
That look mighty fine 👏👏👏
Thanks Mick!
Where did you get the 2nd probe? I couldn’t find it Char-grilled website.
Check out his Amazon link and you’ll find the one that works for the gravity 980. Works great on mine.
Great, thank you!
That’s a good looking Brisket! I’ll take a to go bag Sir!
Brisket looks good, nice job bro!
I appreciate your video. Suggest that at the end you summarize what you did. Times, cook temperatures, when did you wrap, how long to rest.
I’m not familiar with cooking brisket. Surprised at the internal temperature 🤒 Is that normal?
started at noon and ate for dinner same day, mine always take longer even at 275. wild
Haha, yeah I was surprised. I was happy it was able to get done so quickly!
Seeing people comments about the grill, negative comments. Not holding up after a while.?? How's your grill doing.? Was it worth it.? Still working.?
Hey Ray, mine's great - need to do another video with it here soon. My controller was acting funny a couple months ago, but they warrantied it. It was showing ErF (fan) codes all the time when nothing seemed wrong w/ the fan. New controller fixed it up though.
@@RobsBackyardBBQ appreciate the info. Glad they warranty it. I have not purchased my grill yet. Still a little leary.... Thanks
Check out the auto akorn also if you're looking around.
What temp did you start with?
Hey there - I had it set to 275F.. thanks for watching!
#SugarBrisket 😂 Great looking smoke ring on that brisket, Rob! I'm guessing that thing was probably close to 190 degrees when you started cutting it... hot tamale!. Excellent results from the 980 there. #JDapproved 😎
Thanks Joe! It wasn't quite the #SugarBrisket we were talkin about, but I did get some in there!
I've been looking at this and the masterbuillt, how bad are the temp swings?
I had one of these smokers for about a week. It would have run out of fuel at 4-5 hours and would have looked like it was on fire for the entire cook. I was delivered with damage, but didn't appear to have damaged the parts that would have caused problems. When I went to remove the charcoal chute it was warped so badly it couldn't be removed. Don't know whether to try again or get a different grill.
Hey man - I bet the charcoal chute was slid down in there backwards. I had some other people contact me about the chute warping etc and it was becuase lowes put it together incorrectly. I love this thing - i'd give it another shot!
@@RobsBackyardBBQ It was delivered damaged in the box. Should have just returned it instead of putting it together. Don't see how it would work at all if the chute was put in backwards. There's one "assembled" at my local Lowes. I think if I got it I'd probably almost have to disassemble it to figure out what all they'd screwed up. The thing looks like it was put together by someone being payed under the table by another manufacturer to make chargriller look bad.
My chute is stuck also. I put mine together myself, so I know it's in correctly.
Overcooked but still will be good to eat. 200-203
I need taste-a-vision!!!! this looks great! 12:05 I can help you!!!
great looking cook. i would sit out in your back yard all day and just look at the back drop. Thick Meat on the way. I also have something else for you to try.
Do you ship to Orlando?...lol That looks awesome!
Haha Mike - I wish buddy!
Does the GRILLME temperature probe on your Amazon storefront work in the 980? Looking to get a second probe, but want to make sure it works in the 980 first.
Thanks man, yes - that's the one that Char-Griller told me works. I ordered it and that's the one you see in this video along with the original one.
@@RobsBackyardBBQ perfecto! planning my first brisket on the 980 and wanna be prepared. love your videos. can't wait to see how good the 980 does on my brisket.
Awesome, let me know how the brisket turns out!
Something tells me you didn't have trouble figuring out what to do with all that brisket😊👍
Do you ship to Ottsville? You are awesome!!
Looks great! However, it looked to me that you didn't slice the flat totally against the grain. The flat runs diagonally, so you need to see which corner of the flat the grain runs to, and start slicing from that corner, which then will be "against" the grain.
I also would suggest you try seperating the point from the flat, giving you two separate pieces that are all flat and all point. Then it will be obvious how to slice against the grain. Still, it looked delicious!
jealous devil is nice, too bad it's like 40bux a bag
Tractor Supply carries it now.. $20-25 for a 20lb bag 👍
@@RobsBackyardBBQ whattt no wayy, I'm gonna check it out. thanks man!
@@dank9288639 sure! Most have it online, so they'll ship it free to store or home, but some carry it in store also.
@@RobsBackyardBBQ ok cool, thanks🤙
