A moon shaped pool is their most underrated album. It’s flowing, sentimental, spacey, dreamy. An album that makes you feel stuff you’ve never felt before

I don't know bro, I just find it boring but I will be the first to admit that many Radiohead songs that I did not much care for at first I now love, so who knows, I must listen to it more.

A common theme in this album has to do with death, lust and that tension between giving into it or restraining. Nude is about dirty thoughts. Weird fishes is about falling into the depth of ones desires. All I need is about some kind of dark hollow obsession, it's right it's wrong. Reckoner is the judgement and separation of deeds. House of cards is adultery. Jigsaw is a drunken night chasing desires. Light at your back is maybe your conscience. Videotape is your final case you present to the god after you die.
To be in Rainbows is like a state of giving in to your desires. It gives me eyes wide shut kind of Kubrick vibes. A state of immense pleasure followed by devastating reality that it won't last

I'm shocked when people don't latch onto House Of Cards as one of the highlights of this album. For me it was maybe the first one I fell in love with from In Rainbows. It's so sexy and pretty. First line is "I don't wanna be your friend, I just wanna be your lover". I'm not one to care about lyrics much but I think in the context of lusting/loving it hits the vibe for me.

I'm afraid I belong in that category, it is the only song I don't like from the whole album, just doesn't work for me and I find it boring and always skip it.

Thom yorke said: Jigsaw Falling Into Place” says much about the fact I used to live in the center of Oxford and used to go out occasionally and witness the chaos of a weekend around here. But it’s also about a lot of different experiences. Personally, I was really surprised that it’s going to be the single. The lyrics are quite caustic - the idea of “before you’re comatose” or whatever, drinking yourself and getting fucked-up to forget. When you’re part of a group of people who are all trying to forget en masse it is partly this elation. But there’s a much darker side.

"Brain massage" - that is truly one of the best descriptions I've ever heard for this album - so on the spot. You should totally watch "In Rainbows: From the Basement" - it's arguably the ultimate moment in Radiohead 'World' as dumb as that sounds sort of, but it is true - they play all of these songs and create these unbelievable soundscapes, just 5 guys, no tricks, live in a studio, and all the sounds that are elusive and beautiful and perfect - they sound as good if not better on some tracks than the studio, and you can see how they make it all happen, it is as or more mesmerizing watching them than listening to the music. Thanks for another great video! Peace//

Rainbows are a human sight phenomenon (only humans see rainbows). In rainbows are all the possibilities of color. A metaphor that humans can be whatever is needed in any light. A duality, as rainbows are seen when there are both rain clouds and sunlight. Like ripples in the sand, we are all different and the same and come from the same place. I’m rambling as I suck writing my thoughts. Good day to you all

You are right about needing to be in the right mindset to enjoy Radiohead. It took me a long time for me to like their music, especially their preferred/experimental sounds.
I also agree that Videotape is very hard to listen to at first. I would skip this song when it played, because I didnt like how the drums sounded, thinking it was out of sync. But then I found out a few things that made me appreciate it.
First, I learned that the drums weren't out of sync. The entire song is in a syncopated rhythm. There is no time signature change. There are a few video essays that talk about this song which I recommend checking out.
Second, I learned that the inconsistent sound of the drums and that weird clicking in the end, is supposed to mimic a videotape that is stuck and skipping in a tape player. I'm not entirely sure if that was intended or not by the band, so don't take this as pure fact.
Anyway, sorry for the long post. Maybe one day this album will grow on you as it did for me. Keep up with the good work!!

The modern pop vocal mixing thing has really robbed young people of the ability to hear vocals in a natural way. That’s crazy it’s that hard for you to pull ANY of the right words out, but it makes sense. Modern vocal mixing in mainstream music is like having the words in massive font, all caps, bold and underlined at all times. It’s so funny because it was the same with my GRANDMOTHERS generation. Music from the 40s was mixed in a similar way, and she used to say the same things as young people do now about how it all just sounds like mumbles to them. It’s so weird that we’ve cycled back around to this.

Guys! He doesn't feel it. There's not point to keep recommending radiohead, I knew it since he stopped 15 times Paranoid Android. Usually when you are more mental sort of type than sensorial or sensitive. You don' really get into Pink Floyd, Radiohead. If for him this is slow music, imagine him listening Sigur Ros, Massive Attack, Cigarrettes After Sex...anyway. it's good to get out from your comfort zone. Cheers for the content. 👍

Bro, your pausing is out of control. You paused about 12 times between Reckoner and House of Cards... There are plenty of other channels with Radiohead reactions where guys listen to the whole song and then comment on it, and their videos are still up... If you're gonna pause during a song, do it once, maybe twice.
