As always, I'm full of genuine admiration when listening the artists of the JSB Foundation. All of them are all so skilled and sensitive! I'm just puzzled: *how* does Maestro Lutz find so many singers and instrumentists of such a quality?? Congratulations, Maestro!
What a brilliant Cantata! From it's fugal opening through it's demanding arias worthy of an audience rather than just a congregation. Bach is putting his soloists through their paces.The chromaticism in the aria for alto is particularly moving. What would I not give to witness a performance by the BF under Herr Lutz, live! If music be the vehicle of worship, then play on, and let it transport me to it's intended destination....
Bach is a legend composer of all time. He is the gift of God to the world. Even if there were no other composers in the world, Bach definitely would satisfy me, musically. His works are too much and all are excellent ones....cello works, cantatas, piano works, violin works, music chamber, etc. Certainly, Bach alone was enough for me to be satisfied musically... Besides, this cantata was an excellent one. Excellent melody. Excellent chorus, excellent soloists, excellent orchestra, plus, excellent conductor. Thanks for uploading.

It's such a joy to see and hear this and other recordings by this group. Live music like this is not normally played where I live (South Alabama in the USA.)
Was the same video uploaded twice by mistake? According to the descriptions, the previous one is supposed to be the trumpet version and this one the violin version. But they're both the same video (trumpet).
Bach holds nothing back here, after the briefest instrumental introduction, the chorus comes in like an approaching storm!

OK, I got it. There is no change in the chorus (and it's the same take) but the trumpet is being substituted by a cello in at least one aria (bass).

Rather unusual to see not one, but two slide trumpets. Bach should have used these more often, as well as trombones.
