You've inspired me to build my own layout with super 4 track and collect Tri-ang and Tri-ang Hornby plus the early Hornby railways engines and rolling stock
Hi, that's great to hear hope it doesn't lead you too far astray! I hope you have great fun with the collecting, it definitely becomes quite absorbing. Thank you again for watching it's very much appreciated take care. Oscar
Great video as always, very entertaining to watch. I do miss the suspension bridge though, any plans to incorporate it into future plans for the layout? Also, I can't see the refreshment kiosk; this is a model I have always liked, I can remember saving up my pocket money, and catching the tube to Hamleys one Saturday morning in the sixties to buy one. Happy days!
Yet another excellent video. So nice to see the 25 in blue on the railway. Match’s the Hymek at the depot. So enjoyable to both watch and listen, sometimes have to go back to watch what’s happening as listening so much. Do you remember “linka” stone and brick moulds with plaster. Used to make a few of those into both line side buildings and stations…. Until the next video, Thankyou so much for the coach comparisons. Marc
Good morning Marc glad you enjoyed the video and seeing the class 25 on the layout, I remember the name Linka but never used it myself. I've just done a bit of reading on the product. It's had quite a chequered history and seems to still have quite a following. Thank you again take care. Oscar
Those were the days when they could use any coach and put different liveries on but that was the magic of the time ,seeing all those red boxes still takes me back to that little shop down Acton lane near the railway bridge which now carries the London overground line all the treats on display in the window and when you got something wrapped up in a brown paper bag ,superb memories of when I was little ,cheers Oscar ,Mark 👍🏻😊
Good morning Mark glad you enjoyed that. I don't think you could get away with just making the coaches in different colours this these days! It was a great principle at the time to expand the range. Toy shops full of colourful boxes were wonderful places, Aladdin's Cave's! The big stores in industrial units don't have the same effect! Thanks again take care. Oscar
Hi Oscar. I think I might consider covering the baseboard with green baize to deaden the noise a bit. You have quite an echo in your layout room. Green baize will also protect the surface of the baseboard and models will not have their paintwork damaged if put down on their sides. Ingenious layout. That turntable makes a racket! I would look into the possibility of replacing the mechanism with a modern servo to save your ears! Thanks for uploading.
I'm glad you chose the L1 over the Battle of Britain class, it looked so right with those coaches and handled them effortlessly. The M7 would have struggled a bit I think. Taken altogether, your collection of Caledonian coaches is superb, like Russel, I just want to go out and get some. Again, it was a thrill to sit here this Sunday morning and spend a little fantasy time with you Oscar. Regards, David.
Good morning David glad you enjoyed the video and the choice of locomotive. I had forgotten about this model! It's such a lovely livery with deep glossy shine and the painted drive wheels and bright tires. Thanks again take care. Oscar
Morning thanks again for watching it's a great catalogue, definitely skilfully put together to drive the imagination as well as sales I think! The big questions when look through these publications, if only I had that? I could do that? and it's still working after all those years, if only I had that... Take care. Oscar
Mr. Paisley continues to inspire with his splendid vintage collection. The "anti-scenery" continues to charm, as does the soft, golf announcer narration: "He's got his work cut out for him, Bob. Has to clear the bunker from the rough for a double bogie on the eighth to put him in the lead." Nice camera angles and close ups.
Good morning Jeffrey thanks again for watching and taking the time to write this terrific comment, its very much appreciated. Glad you're enjoying the look at the layout and the camera views. Take care. Oscar
@@oscarpaisley Forgot to mention I have one of those. Not as nice as yours, a chip missing from the pilot beam and the glossy finish is a little faded. But a strong runner, to be sure.
Morning Oscar. Apologies for not posting that hand held zero one as yet but it's been a busy few weeks of working away and trying to rebuild my kitchen. I will get it off to you soon. Have to say those coaches match the L1 perfectly. I have the same loco but it was lovingly converted to dcc and working oil lamps added by an old friend of mine. Otherwise he left the loco as it was to preserve how triang hornby intended it. Kind regards Gary
Good morning Garry kitchen building sounds like it could be frustrating! there's no hurry for the Zero 1 hand held. Great to hear about your L1 sounds terrific with illuminated lamps. Thank you again take care. Oscar
Great video as always Oscar. Really liked the rolling stock. Don’t often see SR rolling stock on model railways, mostly GWR, LMS or LNER. Made a nice change. Always look forward to seeing your next update. Roy.
Good morning Roy glad you enjoyed seeing the rolling stock in southern liveries, I do quite like it myself especially early short southern coaches from Tri-ang Railways. Take care. Oscar
Good morning Oscar, very nice to see the Southern liveried L1 and those coaches today. What a smooth quiet runner. I like the new accessories too, the three water towers look great. Best regards to you
Good morning Mr Snooze thanks again for watching glad you enjoyed seeing this version of the L1 with the southern ex Caledonian coaches in action, with its plated wheels this L1 is a very smooth runner. Take care. Oscar
Hi thanks for watching I'm always fascinated by price tags and labels. As you say it's sad that so many of these places are no longer trading. Take care. Oscar
Great video again Oscar . Trouble is after seeing your videos I want to get the models! Quite fancy a Southern L1 now . Interesting comparison on the coaches .
Good afternoon Russell glad you enjoyed seeing that group of items. The L1 is a lovely model in that livery with its high gloss finish. Those coaches are quite interesting as a group, Tri-ang definitely getting the most of the moulding tool! Thank you again take care. Oscar
Thanks again Oscar for one of your great videos, look forward to Sunday night to see the trains, the train ran very well for a older model Oscar well take care till next week Mel nz
Hi Oscar, Great to hear your plans for switches, control and controllers. The water cranes, water tower and dockside crane look really good a lovely selection of coaches on display. The second Duchess arrived this week with a bonus of 4 extra LMS coaches and two dummy ends for a 125 so plenty to keep me busy. Great video as always. Gordon
Good morning Gordon, great to hear the second Duchess arrived sounds like a very exciting parcel to have received! Thanks again for watching take care. Oscar
Hello Oscar - Ah your adding a bit more scenery to your layout I see - are you going to add any background or trees??? A nice shelf with a good plan ahead 🙂🚂🚂🚂
Another great video. I have to admit I was expecting the southern coaches to be the Olive green with the gold lining picked out like the LMS ones where but they went for the plain green instead.
Good morning Rob thanks again for watching glad you enjoyed seeing the items. I imagine there may have been a little cost saving going on leaving the coaches unlined. Thanks again take care. Oscar
That was a good idea putting all the different versions of coaches in the sidings. Very effective changing liveries on the same mouldings without the cost of new tooling. How would you compare H&M controllers with the Morley.
Morning Tim glad you enjoyed seeing those coaches in a different liveries. The H&M is very good but the Morley definitely offers more subtle and consistent control. Thank you again for watching take care. Oscar
Good morning David thanks again for watching it's a lovely looking locomotive, gorgeous livery with that deep shine along with its plated wheels. Take care. Oscar
Hi oscar. What a nice set the l1 is along with the coaches and surprisingly nimble , and quick to respond to the controllers. Will be different with the morley i expect. Just goes to show at the end there how the same molding but a different coat of paint makes all the difference. Thanks for the vidio. Regards Paul osman
Good morning Paul, yes I think the control on the Morley will be a little more subtle with this model. But still a lovely model to run on any controller. Thanks again for watching take care. Oscar
