You let me know) When I was 16 years old I was watching 60 minutes because they were having an interview with Ice T. Needless to say I was a huge fan. I was intuitive enough to notice, as he was giving a tour of his old neighborhood, the address of the house he was pulling up to. And with some clever deduction and use of a Thomas Guide I was able to deduct the likely cross streets of where this would be. Mind you I was 16 years old had just moved to California... Long beach. I was one of the people who grew up at just the right time to have been exposed to lots of Jay-Z, but not enough Ice-T. This was before the internet really took off, all word of mouth… and if you didn’t have an uncle or someone that listened to old hip hop, you missed out. Not to mention that late 90s-early 2000s hip hop sound was very different from what Ice-T made back in the day, we weren’t interested. So… the facts were lost.

Man , they made me make them soooo many cassettes. (Also introduced them to a lot of the older 80’s stuff)

This was before the internet really took off, all word of mouth… and if you didn’t have an uncle or someone that listened to old hip hop, you missed out. Not to mention that late 90s-early 2000s hip hop sound was very different from what Ice-T made back in the day, we weren’t interested. So… the facts were lost.
