Nope! We were there around 7:30-8AM and it was still sweeter time :-) I think one brave/crazy person did go in while we were there though. There was no ice left directly in the lake, but some snow still above and around it.
@@dm71091It usually is but the snow is different every year so I would keep an eye on trip reports. WTA is a great source for detailed reports as well as All trails.
@SavvyExploring awesome I just moved here. I lived in Colorado for years now I'm trying to find some amazing hikes that are not straight walls and that I can drive too and this place looks amazing
what a beautiful hike, have heard this is one of the best parts on the PCT. Thanks for showing some footage. Love.
Thank you! I loved it, but I'm honestly more partial to the Northern Cascades if I had to pick.
Northern Cascades seem to be top notch as well!
Absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing
I used to build fire lookouts for DNR over 40 years ago.
@@randywarnock2937 very cool! What ones did you build?
Fantastic review and information. What an incredible hike!
Great footage! Snowgrass Flats has been on my to do list all summer. Did you ever swim in Goat Lakes while there?

When did you go during the year?
Late July
@SavvyExploring do you think it's doable early July? I have intentions to backpack up there on the 11th through the weekend and explore the whole area

You think in the summer i can drive a corolla to the trail head 😢
Some people did. It would probably take longer but assuming it didn't get any damage over the winter I think it would be doable.

Tons of options but the roads are definitely hit or miss. WTA is a great resource and I have a blog. Welcome to the PNW.
It’s not a “large gravel pile”. They are talus slopes.
@@randywarnock2937 yup, thanks for the info. I know, that was just what we called it as a joke, like I mentioned.
