What I wouldn't give to be in a little cabin in the woods carving pumpkins and eating bread with apple butter and some tea. Hard pass on the pumpkin butter tho 😅 Edit: I'm so proud of Ron for not giving up on that dried up, wrinkley pumpkin. Team Ron Ron!!
I'm an older woman, have lived in the midwest almost my entire life, am well versed in recipes from all over the world, and this is the first time I've ever heard of pumpkin butter. And nobody ever talks about apple butter (which is yummy).
I grew up in NH with some of the local older women making both pumpkin and apple butter. They would sell them at the local church craft fairs and such. 😋😋😋😋😊
Save pumpkin seeds for garden, and roast them. They expell parasites in your tummy. Worms in pork that get in your tummy, they will expell. Wormwood also fixes your gut instead of probiotics. Expells parasites as well. Cures ringworm., helps with many skin problems
I enjoy this show because it helps me to relax, while I listen to two fun loving people. I love the way Ron and Justine enjoy the simple things in life 😊They have so much fun.
Honestly it will be so hard to vote, both of you did great on the pumpkins, Justine for her creativity and Ron for the difficulty. The pumpkin butter looked delicious. I'm sure it was good, homemade has to be the best. Apple butter I have tried and love.
Ron! The face even looks kind of cool from the inside. Also props to you both for not skewering yourselves fighting with the knives into those thick pumpkins.
Easily one of the best Chew & Chats yet! It was an absolute riot! It was so much fun talking and joking with all of you in the Group Chat! 😊 As for the pumpkin carving contest… Boy, is this tough. Both came out really well, but if you're going to put a musket to my head and make me choose just one, I've got to give Ron my vote. My reasons: 1.) He seriously struggled with how dense and firm his deflated balloon pumpkin was, but managed to soldier on like an absolute madlad. 2.) He ended up playing the long game, which you've got to respect. 3.) He didn't use any props or anything to enhance his pumpkin; it stood strong on its own. 4.) He carved it from the top instead of from the side, which I've personally never seen before, so he gets points for creativity there. 5.) His improvising was absolutely top-notch; skinning it, giving it a patchy look, and saying it had smallpox was just brilliant, and frankly hysterical. 😂 6.) The sad face worked really well with the smallpox bit. His "theme" was perfectly clear: Sad, thick boy with a seriously advanced case of smallpox. At the end of the day, though, you're both winners! Both of your pumpkins smoke anything I could do! Thank you both as always for the wonderful content you create on both channels! Love ya both! Cheers! 😃✨
You two are hilarious...I just love all of your videos. I love the hair on Justin's creation but you got give Ron credit for all of his effort. They are both great.
Shout out from New Jersey! Your rooster and Mishmish should have a contest on who is the most vocal!😂😂 I’m gonna have to give it to Ron this year especially for the effort of plugging through with that squash being as hard as it was! I think it was pretty creepy looking in the finale! Looked like a squished Frankenstein head smoking a cigar!, Good job guys!👍🏼👍🏼
Every week I look forward to your videos! Someday I’m going to get up there and see your wonderful town, and bring my mom. She loves this period in American history, and I just love American history! I know it would be so much fun!
I came across your video one night and begin watching them. Now I'm hooked!! Absolutely love to watch you cook, Justine. You and Ron have taught me so much. Thank you! Have a blessed New Year!!!!
I love apple butter. Always grab a jar when I stop by an Amish market or attend the apple festival in Pedlers Village in Bucks County PA. Never heard of pumpkin butter, but will definitely give it a try ...
Love apple butter! I like your little corked jar, Ron. Life is so fleeting. If you want something, if it brings you joy and you can afford it, then go ahead and treat yourself. No excuses. You’ll get pleasure out of it every time you look at it. Justine wins pumpkin carving contest because she’s small.
I love apple butter I live in Rhode Island and I put it in my Johnny cakes and we do have Vampires here in R.I lol I go to Mercy browns grave every year. . Happy Halloween!
You guys done good on the pumpkin carving contest! I like apple butter! I have never had pumpkin butter.I like what you guys bought at the fair.David Back.
We used to have a pear tree in the yard at our old house and I would make pear butter. At least until the wasps became too much, stinging the daycare kids that were being taken care of at the house behind ours, and so we cut the tree down. I don't think I've ever had pumpkin butter, but I have had apple butter. Very tasty! Certain I would love pumpkin butter, too. My sister-in-law is one of those that doesn't like pumpkin anything. I think she's weird. Nobody in my family will eat anybody else's pumpkin pie, except mine. They say mine is the best.
Never heard of Pumpkin Butter. Love apple butter. My sister who passed away 2 years ago made us some apple butter. I think their may be a jar left. I love it. Would definitely be interested in trying Pumpkin Butter. 😊
I have apple and pear trees so I make apple butter and pear butter every year. I agree that I like apple butter more than applesauce. Awesome job to you both.
My grandmother made Apple Butter, it was delicious. I haven't had it for over 40 years so I will seek it out and try it again. I've never heard of Pumpkin Butter so I'll seek that out too! Thanks for enlightening me❤
Love your channels! Love visiting in Justine's kitchen while she cooks and love "sitting at your table" with you. The decor is always so warm and welcoming and the conversation interesting.. I hope you two (and Mishmish too) know how much you bless people.
Holy Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, that is one big pumpkin you got there! Pumpkin butter 🤔 Never had it, but glad I stopped & watched this. It looks yummy & I bet smelled amazing! I will have to give it a try & use up a few of these Halloween pumpkins!❤
I grew up in the Midwest, Great Lakes area, with lots of German influence in the local culture. Apple butter was everywhere. One of my favorites. I've made apple butter and pear butter. I'm going to try the pumpkin butter. Great program! Thanks!
Fascinating talk covering so many topics. The part about vampires really interesting , especially in light of the current obsession with zombies and the recent over reaction and temporary madness surrounding the masking, shaming and social distancing phenomenon. Our crazy past with consumption and tubercular sanatoriums. I love how you mix it up in such an unexpected way!
Greetings from Montana 👋🇺🇸🎃 Awesome chat this evening! I’m looking forward to seeing the new drama coming out soon and I died laughing while you were carving out your pumpkin gourds….Small Pox Pumpkin 😂🤣 and “Hey Mon” Island Pumpkin 😂😂 don’t know who’s I’m voting for yet but I sure had fun with you two this evening! Have a good one ❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸❤🇺🇸 👋
You two are so pleasant! And, how you interact, speak and respect one another is special. Enjoying your chat channel!...(both channels😉). Both butters sound like a YUM to me😋. And the hat pin...LOVE them. Have a few. While driving convertible, not once have I lost a hat👍.
I wish you guys could come to Nova Scotia.. I think you guys would be interested to go to Citadel Hill - it’s a fort founded by the English in 1749 and they still do the cannon daily at noon. Also fortress of louisbourg is amazing to visit - it’s a 18th century fortress. 😊
Thank you, Justine and Ron! What a super fun Chew & Chat. I love your cabin decor and you both got some great finds. Both carvings are gems. Be blessed dear ones and we'll see you next week, Lord willing and the creek don't rise! xoxo
I vote for Ron, that was super hard to carve 😂😂 thank you guys this episode was as fun as always, you guys are my comfort place. Whenever I feel anxious or I can’t sleep I rewatch your videos it’s always calming❤
When I make my pumpkin butter, it comes out the same color as the apple butter. I do roast my pumpkin 🎃 first and then put it in a crockpot to simmer all day with butter, brown sugar, nutmeg, allspice, cinnamon and ginger. When it is done, I put it in 8oz jars and pint and a half jars and can it. It comes out a tad bit darker and richer. I also use the pumpkin butter to make my pumpkin pie and even pumpkin cheese cake and pumpkin pie souffle. It really is very good. I just happened to take a general recipe for the butter and tweak it enough to our liking. We love rich decadent foods but truly only eat them during the cooler months because the spices used are warming spices. That would be part of your time period method of home remedies used to warm those who tend to be cold natured and those that tend to suffer more during the cooler months. Thank you so much for the wonderful videos. It's always so lovely to see you both. ❤️
I’m going to try the pumpkin butter, I’ve made apple butter before. I also made the honey cakes, a great little fall recipe. My husband really liked them
You 2 are a joy to watch!! Looking forward to seeing you Tuesday! QUESTION::: Have you ever been to Fort Mackinaw and or Fort Michilmackinac? If not its a must see! Much love to you both xoxoxoxo
Northeastern Pennsylvania was once fought over between *Connecticut* and *Pennsylvania*. There was a series of wars and battles over about a ten year period called the Yankee/Pennamite Wars. As you can tell by the fact that the region is known by “Northeastern Pennsylvania” the incident [s] was decided in Pennsylvania’s favor.
I LOVE butternut squash. My mom used to make mashed butternut squash every Thanksgiving with a little cinnamon and butter but she switched to sweet potatoes. Also delicious, but I do love the squash more. You two always make my day ❤🎃🍠 😊
What I wouldn't give to be in a little cabin in the woods carving pumpkins and eating bread with apple butter and some tea. Hard pass on the pumpkin butter tho 😅 Edit: I'm so proud of Ron for not giving up on that dried up, wrinkley pumpkin. Team Ron Ron!!
This program helps me to escape from the real world. It is so much fun to watch the both of you . ❤I am so relaxed when I watch this show. 😊
Right. To me it's the simple things that make me happy.
The green squash would have made a great Frankenstein head 😀
That’s what we did with ours 😊
I vote for Ron's pumpkin! Blood, sweat and tears! Way to preserve! Thanks for the laughs!
Did you save the seeds to plant next spring?
Absolutely! Persistence on a very hard pumpkin.
I LOVE the longer videos over here. It’s so cozy and I feel like we’re buddies hanging out. ✨👍🏻🥰
I'm an older woman, have lived in the midwest almost my entire life, am well versed in recipes from all over the world, and this is the first time I've ever heard of pumpkin butter.

Ron wins pumpkin carving contest!!! That was a lot of hard work!!!!!
Love ron's great character if he cleans out the back he could attach it and put a candle in there
The rooster is letting you know that he would love to eat the scraps! The chickens might like it also.
Save pumpkin seeds for garden, and roast them. They expell parasites in your tummy. Worms in pork that get in your tummy, they will expell. Wormwood also fixes your gut instead of probiotics. Expells parasites as well. Cures ringworm., helps with many skin problems
I'd make the squash a cyclops with one eyes and the green pumpkin a witch. Love watching your short movie films !
You both deserve an A+ for all the effort you put in on your squash.
Apple butter is my favorite. My grandmother was Pennsylvania Dutch, and she made it. I really miss her apple butter
I enjoy this show because it helps me to relax, while I listen to two fun loving people. I love the way Ron and Justine enjoy the simple things in life 😊They have so much fun.
That's a stinkin cute little redware bottle! 😉
Great video as always!
Honestly it will be so hard to vote, both of you did great on the pumpkins, Justine for her creativity and Ron for the difficulty. The pumpkin butter looked delicious. I'm sure it was good, homemade has to be the best. Apple butter I have tried and love.
Love me some apple butter. Never heard of pumpkin butter. Apples are like potatoes, sooo versatile.
Ron! The face even looks kind of cool from the inside. Also props to you both for not skewering yourselves fighting with the knives into those thick pumpkins.
Again! With the stabby stabby Justine! 😂😂😂 With a hat pin, 👒 love it! You guys rock 🤘🥰🤘

Love this!! Little bottle is stinkig cute!! Love ❤️ it!!! You two rock!!!
Ron's reminded me of the weird faces you put on trees and Justine's reminds me of Wilson the ball that was on the Tom Hanks movie Cast Away.
😂 Sorry Ron, but Justine's Axle Rose pumpkin wins. I kept trying to telepathically tell you to stuff that draw into the head wrap. 😂. Great job guys.
They're so sweet. ❤ Love this couple. They really love each other.
You two are hilarious...I just love all of your videos. I love the hair on Justin's creation but you got give Ron credit for all of his effort. They are both great.
I had never herald of pumpkin butter but it looks like something that would be really good
Little cabin in the woods would be amazing.
I enjoy watching you guys on both channels. I love everything that is nostalgic to our American culture. 🙂
Shout out from New Jersey! Your rooster and Mishmish should have a contest on who is the most vocal!😂😂

Anyone else nervous bout them knives.
I’ve never had pumpkin butter!! But it sounds really good!
Ron, you shouldn't have given up!!! I love your pumpkin. I think you are the winner!
I like both butters and have made them numerous times. Last week I made pear butter for the first time. Yum. Happy Halloween
Ron fed the chickens while he was carving.
I love apple butter. Always grab a jar when I stop by an Amish market or attend the apple festival in Pedlers Village in Bucks County PA. Never heard of pumpkin butter, but will definitely give it a try ...

Ron worked VERY HARD, but my Vote goes to Justine.
I SO LOVE you both. Cute Couple. 😊

You guys done good on the pumpkin carving contest! I like apple butter! I have never had pumpkin butter.I like what you guys bought at the fair.David Back.
Apple Butter Jeans and the Boots With The Fur!
I can’t believe you didn’t invite me down to try the pumpkin butter or my favorite….. Apple Butter!!!!!
Ok, so this is a hard choice because you are both so dang cute! I have to go with Ron for his perseverance!
Ron’s fighting for his life, meanwhile Justine’s sorting through straw for hair 😂
We used to have a pear tree in the yard at our old house and I would make pear butter. Funny, up here in New England we pronounce. Weymouth, Weymith.
Sounds delicious !!!
I can’t wait to watch the both of you this evening 🙏🙏🙏❤
Same, saving my cup of coffee I usually have at 6 till they are on .
Both turned out cute. I vote Ron cause he did alot cutting. Rambo is adorable
You can also get gator at Broussard's in Cape. Both the gourds looked awesome, especially considering neither of you had any powertools.
I love the jar/bottle that Ron bought. It’s very unique!
What sweet day, pumpkin butter carving, chatting and enoying life. God Bless!
Raised on both of these garden/Orchard butters. Love them both.😋
I'm so glad you got to go to the reenactment this year. We love it and typically go every year. The food is awesome.
I haven't heard of apple butter here in Canada! But my parents immigrated from the Netherlands always had "apple stroop"
Translation ... apple syrup
I don’t know. Five or ten minutes into the carving, I was positive Ron would end up getting stitches. Loved your video.
I bought apricot tea and I got one of those terracotta birds that you dip in water and it just has a beautiful sound to it
Hi from sweden 😊 just want to say you have what i call "a feelgood channel" ❤ never give it up
Never heard of Pumpkin Butter. Love apple butter. My sister who passed away 2 years ago made us some apple butter. I think their may be a jar left. I love it. Would definitely be interested in trying Pumpkin Butter. 😊
I agree, the bottle is stinkin' cute and I love it when things just call to you like that!
Ron’s pumpkin wins! He worked so hard!
I have apple and pear trees so I make apple butter and pear butter every year. I agree that I like apple butter more than applesauce. Awesome job to you both.
I've heard of both butters. I've never tried pumpkin butter, but I love pumpkin anything. 😊🎃
I believe Justine’s pumpkin is a butternut squash
Great video. The redware pot is stinkin cute!
Thank you! 😊
Justine that is a butternut squash and it is only hollow down in the circle part. It is best served roasted with cinnamon and marshmallow .
My grandmother made Apple Butter, it was delicious. I haven't had it for over 40 years so I will seek it out and try it again. I've never heard of Pumpkin Butter so I'll seek that out too! Thanks for enlightening me❤
I love apple butter. I never had pumpkin butter before.
I love applebutter, but I just tried apple/ pecan butter. It was incredibly delicious.
Hello from Oregon. The pumpkin butter looks so good.
I've never tried pumpkin butter. I need to.
I just canned apple butter and peach butter. Now I want to try pumpkin butter.
I am so excited to see your beautiful house when it’s is finished. ❤❤
Love your channels! Love visiting in Justine's kitchen while she cooks and love "sitting at your table" with you. The decor is always so warm and welcoming and the conversation interesting.. I hope you two (and Mishmish too) know how much you bless people.
Never tried pumpkin butter, they do sell it at Traders Joe’s! I make Apple Butter every year.
I gotta go check my local Trader Joe's!
Holy Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, that is one big pumpkin you got there!
Pumpkin butter 🤔
Never had it, but glad I stopped & watched this. It looks yummy & I bet smelled amazing! I will have to give it a try & use up a few of these Halloween pumpkins!❤

Vote for Ron because he worked so hard!!! Love you guys and your channel. A bright spot in the day anytime we get to watch you.
We were just introduced to Apple Butter last year. Our new neighbors had a butter party. Old copper pot with 2 Silver dollars in the bottom. Great fun

Awesome episode!! Thanks Justine & Ron
I’ve always ate apple butter. I’d never heard of pumpkin butter before. If Justine will post a recipe, the kiddos and I will try to make it

good from the front and the back, Ron, Don't quit.
Great plan really. Shaving them is actually the best way for both of those varieties.
Thank you, Justine and Ron! What a super fun Chew & Chat. I love your cabin decor and you both got some great finds. Both carvings are gems. Be blessed dear ones and we'll see you next week, Lord willing and the creek don't rise! xoxo

I vote for Ron - love his gruesome creativity!
Rons’ pumpkin looks delicious. Roasted til toasty and carmelized. Top with toasted pumpkin seeds and a drizzle of maple syrup.
I just made pumpkin butter. I've also made apple butter. They are both delicious. You had a much larger pumpkin tho. 😆 😉
The blue ball says you can’t can pumpkin butter, but it’s so good
I’m going to try the pumpkin butter, I’ve made apple butter before. I also made the honey cakes, a great little fall recipe. My husband really liked them

Ron, your purchases were awesome 👌
Justine's scarfs were beautiful!❤
Never knew that Vermont was part of New York. Love the Pumpkin carving! 🎃
