i used to fit a water separating filter at first out of the tank and when it filled with water it would shutoff the fuel line and stop any water getting through
Hey Guys, you have certainly had your share of mishaps but don’t think your alone. All travellers have issues, you just might not see most of them on you tube. Your efforts to share all is much appreciated by your followers & fellow travellers. Being able to see what can happen how you deal with it is invaluable to all those looking at caravanning. Hope you keep going as things will turn around, they always do. Safe travels…
Thank you, we know, there’s a lot we don’t share but yes we’re definitely not alone. Thank you, if we can help anyone in any small way, that’s what we want. Cheers mate, thank you!
Holy shit H!!!! that droning was insane!!!! flying under the bridge was epic I literally ducked as you went under it, also i was waiting for you to scare the shit out of the 🐮 🐮 cow! that would have been 😂 😂
Incredibly unlucky and expensive, guys. As you may now, much of the east coast has received massive rainfall totals and, for some reason, some of that water is getting in underground fuel tanks or fuel trucks. Up on FNQ Tablelands I have had that happen twice at one particular servo and now, down in Cairns, lots of reports of the same. And that was after unseasonably heavy and persistent rain. Am only trusting one supplier currently. The sound of the Hume spillway was thunderous enough to get the idea, thank you...and the drone footage of the trestle bridge to Gundagai was awesome.Such a pretty town from the air, too. Didn't realise there was so much vegetation around there. But, the most awesome of all was your son: what a little fish! And what a terrific way to get him to put his face in the water!
Very sorry to hear about the fuel issues resulting from water contamination. I hope that the Chev is back to running normally with no long term damage to the engine. One does not expect contaminated fuel when filling up on the outskirts of a large city. I hope that you have the necessary receipts to use in a case against the servo? The drone footage was once again brilliant. Hope that you have great travels up the Mid north coast. There are some beautiful seaside towns along the way with some good camping spots close to the beaches. Stay positive and keep up the great weekly videos.
You should probably put a water separator in your car. I have one on my Diesel and it works really well. The reason i mentioned the water separator is because you will eventually go to the outback and the fuel tank out there could have anything in them. Good luck with the car you're going to need it.
Should be covered under your insurance - we had a mishap 6 years ago where our 200 series was filled up with unleaded instead of diesel - ended up being a 50/50 mix. $16,000 worth of damage because Toyota's advise was to replace the fuel pump, lines and all 8 injectors. It was luckily covered under our comprehensive insurance. It was classed as misadventure.
Hi, you guys certainly have had a rough time ! I would have thought the Chevy filter would have alarmed up with presents of water giving you time to stop and shut it down the engine before the water got to the injectors. Most filters e.g. LC 200 alarm up when a very small amount of water is present .
I am so sorry about the water in the fuel, I have no idea how you are all feeling, you are such a beautiful family that deserves happiness , my only hope and wish is that the Garage in question does the right thing and compensates you for the cost , please don’t give up , stay strong , cheers Darrel 👍
When you fill up at a fuel station always get a receipt , if the fuel is contaminated you have proof off purchase , when the mechanic says bad fuel going to cost a fortune to fix ya motor , the fuel company pays for repairs , no receipt your out off pocket and stuffed
Yes we'll be making sure we get receipts from now on that's for sure. Would have never thought this would have happened. But, only upwards from here now!
OMG you guys can't take a trick 😢 if it's not one thing, it's another 🤬 Please please please write to the ACCC about the service station involved, because my mind boggles how many other vehicles they've stuffed for profits in this cist-of-living crisis we're facing. Thank goodness no other damage was caused and you got onto it early before it did How awesome is Gundagai 👌 I love the fact they moved the town centre from where you were to where it is today to higher ground, due to flooding
Hi Nalders, Like Henry I’m from a transport background, we used to use fuel doctor as we had problems now and then with fuel contamination. Not sure if it or any separators would handle that much water but I’m going to be using it from now in my tow vehicle too. Best of luck with the servo and go the Chev trucks
Thats really bad picking up that much water in the fuel. I was in the motor industry (now retired) and we used to get quite a few cars in with water in the fuel, just about 100% of the time the fuel company's paid for the repairs so hope this will be the case for you! I love your Drone videos you make it look so easy, I notice you have goggles and set the video to FPV which makes it that extra good, well done. I have a DJI Mini 4 which is great, what Drone to you have? Anyway hope it all works out for you..........
I can’t believe this has happened, so sorry. I hope that fuel station is taken to the cleaners. Imagine how many cars, this is so wrong. Keep us updated. It is one thing after the other. Thoughts with you all.
I hope you get it sorted out. Have you asked your insurance company whether they cover dirty fuel? I’m pretty sure Nrma do. I was talking to a bloke who had an f 250 he got dirty fuel blew his motor up. His insurance company covered the replacement.
Thank you, yes after lots of advice, we're going through insurance and they will cover all the repairs thank goodness! We've learnt something new which is great to know!
I wonder how many more cars that fuel station has ruined, maybe everybody affected needs to get together to take them through the ringer, I would be livid and taking the fuel station for every penny you lost. Maybe if you mentioned the fuel station so anyone watching this can avoid them.
I personally would wait on the outcome on costs, what needs doing to correct issue, contact insurance company of vehicle, have all receipts for the purchase of fuel, and of course samples of the fuel. Know your rights before approaching fuel company, hopefully the insurance company will support you, if not then perhaps a lawyer to know what should be the correct plan for recovering the costs and losses you incur, sorry your going through this, look for the silver linings.. a loan vehicle, a nice mobile home, and good health..best wishes..
Agree! We weren't hiding them we were awaiting an outcome. All sorted now thank goodness! More than happy to share it was Alliance Petroleum in Horsley Park.
Feel your Pain, disgusting re the petrol quality! How do we vet these petrol stations? We’re all vulnerable to these companies! So Sorry to hear. Cheers Jen n Co! 💝
@LivingOffTheVan great news. My parents had a similar issue and Insurance paid for everything....eventually. The dealer just had to provide their findings and Insurance paid the bills. Glad you had a good result 👍
Great technique for teaching a child to swim. Much more fun than the boring way I was taught. Shame about the Chev. Looking at many 4x4 travel sites, there seems to be a disproportianate number of breakdowns with American and English 4x4's compared to Japanese and Korean vehicles. I do suspect quality control in design and manufacture.
i used to fit a water separating filter at first out of the tank and when it filled with water it would shutoff the fuel line and stop any water getting through
Next part going in! hahaha

Such great drone footage, loved it. Certainly be interesting if other people had the same problem
Thank you! Hoping others haven't but wouldn't be surprised.

Chevy (GM) full size trucks was a good brand back in the 80's and 90's. Now, if you go big American, the F series is the only way to go.
We love the F series!
Hey brother they say that it comes in three from now on you should have good luck 🍀👍🏻 😉🍻🍻🥂
Let's hope so! Cheers!

Cheers, thank you. We've grabbed some of that now. Glad our issues can help others and hope they don't get the same problems as us! Thanks again!
Fingers crossed it all works out.
Cheers, thanks!
Love the drone footage 👌🏻 Good luck with vehicle.
Thank you!

Fault codes are a pain. Was the 29.3 your fuel consumption?
They don't like to make sense haha. You're correct, usually 29-31L per 100 towing. It's not great!
I can’t believe this has happened, so sorry. I hope that fuel station is taken to the cleaners. Imagine how many cars, this is so wrong. Keep us updated. It is one thing after the other. Thoughts with you all.
It's not convenient haha. Yes they're pretty dodgy. Will do, Cheers!
Henry get a bottle of f10. Treat the fuel each fill at the dodgy small servos. It absorbs the water in the fuel. Great product.
Great to know, thanks mate!

When its wine a clock and Henry still wants to drive in the dark well that's his problem 😂😂
hahaha spot on!
Sending positive vibes your way ,hopefully insurance company covers your cost and ya on ya way again soon🤞
Thank you, appreciate that!

Is the air cleaner wet ? Rear facing snorkels suck a lot of water in when raining
Nope, all dry.

Thank you, yes I know, they're price gouging as it is, you really hope you're getting quality for the price you pay. Cheers guys!
probably ok i hope, if it was a diesel, then all new injectors would be required and new fuel lines etc
Unfortunately, all new injectors and fuel lines... pissed!
@@LivingOffTheVan not good to hear, hope the insurance covers it all. time is a pain, but if they cover, then all will be good in the end.
Great drone footage from Gundagai. What drone do you use?
Thank you, a dji fpv.
Have you got the chevy back as yet.
Yes back after a month. Going well so far now!
Geez that sucks. Wonder if the service station can be held liable via your insurance company?
Hopefully the insurance company do, insurance have said they have to admit fault though.
Wow that’s not cricket, hope no expensive damage. Sucks that you paid fuel price for water!
Fingers crossed! I know right, not even drinkable either! haha
Put some F 10 Fuel treatment in ya tank. Its bloody good!
Will do, cheers for that!
@@LivingOffTheVan no worries. Another tip if you ever see the fuel truck at service station, Keep driving.
Sorry to hear. Insurance will cover it as a worse case scenario.
They did, thank goodness!
@LivingOffTheVan great news. My parents had a similar issue and Insurance paid for everything....eventually. The dealer just had to provide their findings and Insurance paid the bills. Glad you had a good result 👍
See the cemtrails
They're everywhere.

Thank you, he’s definitely a water bug!
Yes they’re not very reliable when it comes to parts availability that’s for sure. Cheers!
So I gather a water trap filter is the next Mod
Yes, thinking that!
The service station company should pay for it....its reasonably common
Yes, although they don't like responding or communicating. Insurance will sort them out hopefully.
That's terrible getting bad fuel. I think all bowsers should have fuel filters in them to stop this bad fuel rot.
Well that'd help wouldn't it. Bloody frustrating.
Hey guys love your show but can u put a nice relaxing music on and not repeating mind crap music please !🙏
Thank you for the feedback! We appreciate it!
List the servo so we all black ban it.
ALLIANCE PETROLEUM. 1766 Horsley Drive, Horsley Park, 2175, NSW.

It's a piece of junk just like there M1 tank on the battlefield.
Yeh, unbelievable they don't make them to run on water
Can't say I have experienced that!
