With the fully built turbo LS VTEC engine knocking and making metal shavings, it is time to swap in a new engine. We have less than a week before Automotion Wisconsin and this Integra GSR engine is our best bet at making in there.

I’ve been in the same situation man I built a d16z6 first ever build engine lasted only 3 weeks at 18 psi of boost. I then stepped up to a b series GSR set up and didn’t want to build that engine but had to and luckily I got it running good!
Also that GSR is good for 400 all day

350hp is doable and safe I made 387hp on 12 pounds and 343hp on 8 pounds of boost on gate! Lasted a good 2 years I got excited and turned it up to high boost in Mexico and lost compression in cyl 4 decided to pull it and build it forged internals on devcon I’m aiming for 500hp this time around!

So crazy I had a rebuilt LSV motor and I had the same problem as you. Now I have to find out what’s going on. Though on Sunday I just swapped my spare GSR Motor inside. Literally same thing as you but different motor/ car 😅

try cleaning the purple valve cover really good, get baffling really good. if it was sandblasted to get powder coated just maybe there was media left in baffling

You should really look into alpha injection injectors they are top notch !
Honestly I’d say to just quit fooling with a B series engine dawg. K swap it and use the turbo you got for the B series you ain’t even got to worry about messing with the internals of a K series up until around 800hp. Your goal of 500hp is extremely attainable on a stock internal K20/K24. Just a thought…

Not to mention I repainted the motor last month and the valve cover is also purple

That's what I was thinking....or just use that stuff out of the gsr that's going in. Check bearings on both and if gsr looks good then still can use built engine...barely takes any extra time and would be worth checking at least...I've made crappier engines run on crappier used parts anyway lol

Hey man how bout u try a frankenstien build B20z or b20b lower from a crv and a b18gsr or a b16b type r head bigger displacement than the average b18 and more powerful. Here in the philippines most honda guys that build fast N.A goes for that combo dynoing at 220-230hp and goes high 12s low 13 at 1/4 mile. Maybe after you turbo it. It will make a ton of power

I wouldn’t recommend driving it or running it with the 1700 till u get to the dyno you gonna end up washing the cylinders down and it’s gonna mix the oil happened to be just 3 days ago and then my car started knocking cause off bearings

Iam 100% sure u drop oil in gsr after few starts up 🫣 n cut open filter and make sure she ok .. no shaving from oil lines from turbo kit u ran on LSv 😳.. I would blew air thru those lines before adding them .. also I would did full waterpump n timing belt and adjust on lash on Gsr u never know last owner did it or not .. just make sure u have it dail in before the dyno tune .. 🫡

It’s actually nuts haha. I was just talking with him and the boys about it last week. Same exact issue.
Please get in contact with a real tuner this time. There's plenty of reputable remote tuners that charge reasonably. Jason Waters, Jeff Evans and I believe even PFI will do it as well.

LS-Vtec is a non Vtec engine that has been converted to a VTEC engine by exchanging the cylinder head for a VTEC one. The GSR Vtec engine is the original complete VTEC engine that would have been found in an integra GSR.

The LS-VTEC is a 1.8L engine. VTEC heads from a VTEC 1.6 (B16) or the VTEC 1.8 (B18C) can be used to covert the non-VTEC B18B to LS-VTEC
