This is why Nikke is still killing it. They don't have an egregious amount of limited characters (mostly collab characters) and all the events are put into the Archive for you to enjoy later, whether or not you were around for the original run.

Having Calcharo from the beginner gacha and Verina in a single 10 pull after, I told myself this is fine and I would not reroll.
If I needed to reroll I will uninstall because I just don't have the time for more games.
Then I sank 3 days into the game and my pity pull on Yinlin banner was Encore, I liked the ending of Yinlin, just not enough to enter reroll hell...

Just sucks there's hardly any of them lol. It needs an increased rate of character releases tbh. There's just not enough there to make compelling and interesting teams.
For the quick swaping combat in gachas, at least for 3D gachas, I believe it was Honkai Impact 3rd who did it first which is another Hoyoverse game. I'm very sure quickswap combat has been a thing for a long time in other genres, but HI3 was one of the pioneers for 3D gachas and they had that system in it.
Yeah character switching existed in fighting games I believe marvel vs. capcom pioneered it and it's been a staple part of the tag fighter sub genre.

I started Genshin on day one, stopped playing for a long time after completing Inazuma and now I cannot get into it again, mostly becouse they (for some stupid reason) made limited time events relevant to the main story and world building. Hope WuWa doesn't do the same bull.

And on the holograms thing, there is already a short rage compilation with streamers raiging at the holograms. Pretty funny stuff.
What would be very interesting is if Kuro gives us another 5 Star Selector Ticket for the 1st anniversary but it Allows you to Choose any Previous Character that was Released, So if there was a Character that you Really Like but Missed you can Get them. THAT would be an amazing way to Alleviate that "Fomo Barring Entry." Wuthering Waves Isn't Limited in their Ability to Utilize the Engine that the game runs on to Put out AMAZING character Models, unlike Genshin Which has a Terrible Problem with Reusing the Same Character Model Types For EVERY character.
they did that in pgr quite often(not just anniversary events) so maybe... just maybe I can cope

As they say, you can invent gunpowder, but if you don't know how to use it or improve it, someone else will. Genshin never wanted to improve; on the contrary, it ignored those improvements, and this is what's happening now. It's not because of us, whom they call haters, but because of Hoyoverse. The Genshin team is the one that has killed itself, that has shot itself, and it's a shame because I've been following them since the beta. But I've also come to hate the game because they don't want to improve it and they censor us when we discuss it. As they say, what's the point of being the pioneer if you don't want to step out of your comfort zone? But more than just a comfort zone, they knew there was no other game to compete with them besides themselves, and they gave us crap because they wanted to.
The character swapping mechanic exists in their previous game called pgr. So basically they took that thing.
Did anyone notice how characters look older? The child model for WuWa like Encore and Verina looks more closer to models like Amber, Fischl than Klee or Yao Yao.
Yeah Verina and Encore look preteens or young teens rather than a 6 year old child.

I’m a guy that love waifus but I also like cool gida chads. Genshin male characters didn’t resonate with me except for zhongli. Hsr has some great ones but Jiyan alone outdo all those characters imo.

Small disagreement with Asmon on the skin buying. Personally I only buy skins so I can look at them. I couldn't care less what others thought of my skin. I've bought skin packs for single player games before because I enjoyed the game and didn't mind spending some extra to help the devs and look different. I think modding actually prove that skins isn't mainly just people wanting to show of. For example plenty of people buy skin mods for League but since its your side only no one else sees them. So while I would agree there would be a drop in income if nobody could see skins, I don't think its 95% I would maybe be okay with 50% but really depends on the game. Rosie had a good point in collecting you can own every league skin for a character but you can't really show that off in game to others when playing.
Great games are almost never a new idea, it's usually an already existing idea that's been improved upon
League of legends, valorant, Fortnite, Apex legends, Palworld, most fighting games, the list goes on.
Speaking of stardew valley, i hope rune factory 6 will be better than 5.

Not into this genre of game. These type of games gain a lot of traction if they are well made. Most gacha games are designed for the Asian market, but if you can get a foothold in the West, it will make a lot of money.
It doesn’t make nearly as much from the west, but if it can get a foothold in the west to a degree it means the Asian market is THAT big.
I will have to clarify something. The r/gachagaming subreddit doesn't actually like Genshin, they just hate whatever is fucking new in the gacha sphere if it gets popular enough. Genshin for the longest time was THE punching bag for that subreddit when it got popular, and it got worse when Honkai Star Rail released. It only got a bit better because Wuthering Waves came out and they had a terrible launch while being hyped up as a Genshin killer. I know this cuz I almost always saw Genshin posts/comments get downvoted before WuWa came out, and now a lot of WuWa posts/comments get downvoted nowadays.
Jiyan almost killed the game.
