Like the videos. One small point, I notice when you took out the “pinch bolts” at the bottom of the strut, they had been inserted from the front of the car. When you replaced them, you inserted them from the rear of the car, Probably not desperately important. Keep up the good work 😊
I’m currently changing strut top mounts on a picanto. Are the supposed to spin on the washer provided when you tighten the nut down on the strut or are they supposed to be tight and not spin.
Good video Kev. Ive done several of those droplinks on Picantos and you have to be extremely lucky to unbolt one without destroying it. I don't know what it is about the threads because no matter how much you clean them up they get well tight and the spanner nut is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard. Maybe long term cutting off the excess thread or packing with washers ????
Very clear. What sort of mileage had the car covered before they required replacement? I have a 2010 model from new and the springs seem fine - so far. Anything you do on the car would be interesting. Thanks
Kev thanks for this video, I can't remove the strut from the car as the 1st top nut will not budge, it just spins the whole top part of the shock absorber and the rubber cup it sits in even when the car is on its wheels and not jacked up, I don't have an impact driver so only using socket and wrench set, I have put all my body force behind it and still will not move! do you have any suggestions other than take it to a garage?
Great video makes me realise it is less complicated than it looks. Just one question? when I grab my front wheel and push them upwards there appears to be a bit of movement on both top mounts, is this normal for this car, it's a 2009 and only covered 22,000
It could be that there is a little wear in the rubber, they do perish over time anyway regardless of mileage, they are very cheap anyway so why not replace them at the same time. 👍
I believe that the switch operates at 90 degrees and will switch off again at 85 degrees but I don't have a manual to hand to be able to confirm this data. Perhaps another viewer does and can offer some advice?
I need more detailed explanation on the SUSPENSION SUPPORT BEARING front axle? What parts have ball bearings and why can i buy SUSPENSION SUPPORT BEARING without ball bearings. Sry for caps. Copy paste
I'm stuck on the top nut at 7:30 , it just spins the whole top part of the shock absorber and the rubber cup it sits in - any ideas how to get round this?
Did the front and rear springs on my 05 picanto at the weekend. Your videos were a great help. Thanks.
Im just about to do mine, when you did the rear springs did you have to unbolt anything from the spring or did you just compress it and it came out?
THANK YOU SO MUCH AND PLEASE STAY BLESSED VERY HELPFUL DID IT MYSELF TOOK ME 10 MINUTES PER SIDE
gracias por el video desde chile
Thanks for this video Kev!! Just done this on my folks car today. Your video helped massively. Thankyou for sharing.
Glad it helped 👍

There's a reason there assembled from the front but I can't remember it.
Needs to undo and replace from front as you said

maybe some penetrating fluid when unbolting, and some anti-seize when mounting them would help
Great video informative, easy to follow. Many thanks for sharing

Picking up an impact wrench will work out cheaper than garage work! Especially in the long run bud. 👌
@@KevsShed Thanks Kev, I will check them out 👍

CAN YOU PLEASE DO A KIA PICANTO FRONT WHEEL BEARINGS REPLACEMENT 2006
Hi, I have a question, at what temperature does the motor fan start in Kia picanto 2009
I believe that the switch operates at 90 degrees and will switch off again at 85 degrees but I don't have a manual to hand to be able to confirm this data. Perhaps another viewer does and can offer some advice?
@@KevsShed think you
can you please do a video on how to replace the alternator?
super vid, learnt so much, i have a 2009 model
If you ever want to practice on a knackered 207 I’ve got loads you can do! 🙈
Haha! :)
Why you put back the pinch bolts wrong way around?
How to remove front bumper on kia picanto 2006? Thanks
WHAT YEAR is the model?
This car is a 2005 but it’s the same from 2004 - 2011
@@KevsShed oh i see
Me passa o torque do cabeçote do kia picanto 1.0 , 12valvulas, gasolina, 2009 ?
How much would a mechanic charge for this? I need my mounts changing only, springs and shock are fine.
Probably 2 hours labour plus the cost of the parts at a guess. 👍🏻
I almost feel out of breath watching
Think he needs to get a chest x ray ..seriously!
Wow very good sir your nice

A much better title would be “Kia Picanto- replacing”.
Sredni Vashtar 😂😂😂

Try putting the weight on of the car onto the shock and trying again. This may work.
Good video, I would have replaced the mounts , save a later job.
I agree with you on that, unfortunately it’s not my car so the money wasn’t mine to spend! I anticipate having to do them in the future though.
