  • Great day! I will be back next week to get an even better gold that I left behind but I know it’s there. It’s just a really long trip that I’m willing to take to find multiple grams of Oregon Beach Gold thanks for watching in Subscribing. Happy pans. #sluicebox #goldmining #goldpanning#prospecting

    You’re losing more gold and you were catching. Do small Hand fulls And give time for the water to clear out the sand. When you put a bunch of sand in there, it feels up all the crevices, and the gold will float over the crevices that are full and end up on the beach. Overloading your beach box is the cause of this. Coming from a minor who’s been doing beach mining for over 37 years. The game is not to run as many buckets as you can, the game is to run only as fast as the water will let you without overburdening your mats. Another secret is the fine gold is flat it mostly accumulates within the top 6 inches of the darker sand . I worked at Cape disappointment, and when I discovered where the gold was in the Layer I started getting 8 g per day. Many of the Gold, miners know who I am.

      Hey thanks I appreciate that. I was surprised to see know micros towards the end of the sluice so I’m thinking after about halfway they must be floating away! At first I thought no gold was getting by but I know it’s richer than this.

      how about you make the whole beach box 5 times as long and just throw the whole bucket there? and maybe try to dig around your beach box to find black sand so you can maybe increase the amount by 10 or 50 times because you dont have to carry it all the way.

      I don't know I do the small handful of thing very at least use the green golden scoop and I'd make sure that I had that sand wet you always make sure what you're putting through your sluice box is already in water and wet it hopes the gold which floats on water sink that's why when you do gold paydirt at home or if you do clean up sit home you'd put the Jet-Dry in it because it breaks the surface tension of water you're fine gold will absolutely float on water so you make sure whatever dirt that you're running is wet especially sand

      Yeah, with the right permits we can run a recirculating system but when we sluice we can't take up the whole width of the creek. 1/4 to 1/2 depending...(I think).

    AZ miner here! Great job! Idea you might try? So instead of walking to your spot to get material. Find spot next to sluice and go straight to bedrock. Spend time flooding and sucking with hand vacume.i bet there is good gold on that bedrock. Cut a 12 foot x12 foot right to bedrock. I thinking a hand pull vacuum my brother had one and it pulls hard. Thanks

    Well it looks like it works great even though you were “lazy” you got great gold was wondering why you didn’t just fill the cart instead of buckets you may have been able to get 3 buckets at a time. Also maybe hook up a waist rope/belt system to pull the wagon from your waist, keeping your arm behind you and pulling is bad for your shoulder lol definitely looked like a success to me would like to know how much the gold weighed I’m sure you’ve got it cleaned up by now…. I’m guessing 1.2 grams? Thanks for sharing see you on the next one 👍🏼👊🏼

    Great video! About $5 per bucket is rich sand. You could build a second box (about 1” or 2” inches wider than the first one for nesting purposes of transporting one box inside the other) being another 4’ feet for a total of 8’ feet of sluicing length.
    ~Dream Mat has a mat style for sale called Cape D Mat.
    ~Washington Beach Mining sells the Sawtooth Mat.
    ~There is another mat called Devin VDR (Vortex Drop Riffle) Mat for micro fine gold.
    ~I have not tried either one but I would like to know how they work before thinking of buying either one of them.

    • @Timothy-McNulty
      @Timothy-McNulty 8 месяцев назад +1

      Roy, set up properly with the optimal flow rate, I've found that a 4 foot sluice length captures 95%+ of the gold. I've done the exact thing you mention, nesting a second 4 foot section for 8 foot total sluice, and the bottom half sluice captured less than 5% of the gold, probably closer to 1% to 2%. For me, it just doesn't pay to have to haul around and set up that lower half. Of course I was using the Sawtooth Mat you're referring to sold by Rob of Washington Beach Mining. But I didn't buy it from Roy because I'm the manufacturer of that mat and sold it wholesale to Roy. It was a 4-TPI version that I had a literal ton EPDM Extruded back in 2010 and it took Roy and I until this summer to completely sell out of our inventory on that mat. While I'm not planning on having any more of that mat manufactured I have been experimenting with a similarly designed oleophilic silicone mat that is a lot more grabby to gold. The gold just sticks to the fumed silica impregnated silicone and won't let go. ETA for the new Sawtooth mat is sometime later this summer or fall of 2024.

      @@Timothy-McNultyI'm trying to educate myself for an occupation on the beach of Nome. With fine gold being all about the numbers did you feed the same amount through your 4ft sluice as the 8ft? Because I'd would imagine the lower 4ft run should allow for you to run heavier than you ran with just the top 4ft. AKA overfeed lol. But getting more gold because of the 2nd 4ft.
      So I'd assume one could get another 20%+ with the 2nd mat as long as you run 20%+ more material. Or just enough so you don't see a thick black line running down the center of your box.
      I imagine a typical beach box being 24x48. Or a long tom 12x10ft. Both work fine I'm sure but it's the amount one can run in the amount of time given that matters correct?
      I have 2 feeders that I intend to use so my box can constantly stay fed. I'll use electric pumps so I can set up in the pay to reduce transportation time. As of now I spend most of my time on the beach just watching my machine run from the comfort of my folding chair.
      I'd love to have a 24in x 96in box to overfeed underneath my feeders. Then I could run the numbers needed to make a dollar.
      Right now I'm making a 24x48 miller table. Go big or go home right...

  • @rebelarcher5450
    @rebelarcher5450 Год назад

    I reckon with the matting you have in that box ( v's too shallow ) , and running at that flow speed of water , i'd guess you are probably losing around 30 - 40 % of gold getting blown through the sluice still caught up in the sand .
    I would try a drop in riffle bank ( maybe 3 riffles mid sluice ) with some strips of miners moss intermingled to help break up the flow and help the gold drop out of the sand .
    Hard to find , but there is also some super deep V mat you can get which will catch gold better as the sand runs in and over the V's breaking up the flow .
    I like the wide sluice setup , being able to shovel in , my setup is more long tom style .

    just wondering if the gold mit shop vac attachment wouldnt be more productive ? Sure you have to lug a shop vac and generator, but because it doesn't need water, you haul it to where you need, so no back n forth to the sluice, or do a recirculating pump version. Currious to see what would be more productive ?

    I follow the flour gold wizzard, he uses a recirculating sluice, based on what he got, he made around $ 6 a bucket, can't really say how long it took him to fill a bucket slep it back and process, guessing it was 15 minutes. Gonna guess he was getting around $24 per hr working time. If you could eliminate the bucket slep time, you could process way more material .... if 1 person could do 100 buckets a day @ $6 bucket that makes it a nice little paying hobby !

    how is that bad? u maybe had 6 fully full buckets in all . u made 60 usd for 6 buckets.. u can fill 6 in less than 10 minutes if u fast and want it. and not lazy. i can do over 1000 buckets a day like this that is sun up to sun down. lazy people don't get the good money but for real u did well for the 6 fully buckets.

    • @Goldhunter7769

      I was thinking about that, there are some losses but there was little to no gold in the last foot of the sluice so wither the gold is floating or I’m catching most of it.
      That said, I should have gotten more gold for 14 buckets. Next time I’ll stick to my good spot ALL THE WAY DOWN THE BEACH LOL

    I mean why would you not just stick the bucket in the water and take out 10 inches from the top of the sand? Seems like a huge waist of time running all of it when all you need is to run the bottom 1/2 inch
