I like how a subplot of this video is Maximum trying to get every red ball world record AT THE SAME TIME and he passes it off like it’s nothing out of the ordinary
I literally just had that realization and then checked to see if anyone else thought that! I was shocked to see I was only half an hour in and it still had almost an hour left
It's also remotely similar to PisMc who was one level off from beating every single rated level in Geometry Dash (A feat that is absolutely impossible today)
You know what, Onam didn't know they'd need to collect those stars. Those rules weren't in place yet, they just decided to be honourable and play fair. Props to you, Onam.
This is actually not the case; the speedrun.com leaderboard for the game was created way back in December of 2014, and as far as I know, the rules have always stated that you must collect all the gold stars in level 8 before collecting the flag.
@@Maximum Wait, I am thinking about level 8, you need to collect all 3 Gold Stars, after collecting 3rd star can't you reset to get way faster to flag pole? You get all 3 Gold Stars so It should be legal but I also think this can't be
I love how there is this implicit rule in the Red Ball community that if someone tries to go for a record sweep, the entire community mobilizes to try and win back the records.
For almost single-handedly reigniting an entire community of flash game speedrunning, that silver play button is more than deserved. Congrats on 100K, and great video as always!
These videos make me feel like such a boomer lol. I never even heard of these games or websites (I think I saw people play some of them when I was in high school), and yet I watch every single one. Congrats on the checkmark, excited to see what's next!
The quest for the full series sweep reminds me of the journey that Matthias rustemeyer went on in Mario Kart 64, going for every single record. Absolutely loved this video, I know what goes into making something like this and am thankful you do it.
Except matthias and a lot of the community went full sadge and cried about the hoarding instead of like here where they built interpersonal rivalries and motivation from it.
I love how you edit these. By the end you've explained every trick and level well enough that you can just let me watch and I understand what is happening, yet I've never even seen this game previously.
hey maximum, just wanted to say that i MASSIVELY appreciate the fact that you put a music list in the description. i cant stand it when i watch a video, a song catches my attention, and there's no reference to the music whatsoever in the description. Of course, this video is also yet another banger - i can't imagine how much work must have gone into editing a 2 hour long world record progression. thank you!
The combination of your storytelling, the awesome skips found and how much I've played red ball in the past made this video one of my favourites ever. Congrats on 100k and looking forward to your next videos :)
In an alt I have looked for every possible recording of the game I speedrun and saved them in a Playlist. Finding old runs is hard, but here are some tips (I hope it helps): - Write your key words, press the middle part of the mouse on the upper part of the screen, point it down and let the screen scroll. - When you reach the bottom of the results, press ctrl F (Windows, Mac works different), type 2011, then 2010, then 2009... And you will discard half of the results. Only the videos from the correct era will show up - If your game is popular in another country, check if the game has another name in that language (Red Ball is a simple game, but Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games, is not a simple name. It can be translated to M&S sur les jeaus d'hivern for example). You might be missing a whole world. Specially in Asia
I love how you, in essence, just count down a list of numbers and runners names who I've never heard of and yet you tell such a compelling story. Sooo much time and effort. Thank you. Excellent video and congrats on the 100k.

Woot, congrats on the 100k and play button. Great video and I hope it inspires others to jump in and push for new records and strategies. I love seeing old games being kept alive like this.
I have so much respect for your dedication to these games. It's so crazy to me that you prefer the competition over the glory and didn't silently sweep the games when you could've pretty easily.
My boy Mukmuk played this for me. So amazing thanks for all your efforts to immortalize your struggles. Amazing video, great narration and flawless editing.
